  • In this video, I review the Donner DBU-200 concert scale banjolele. It is a well-built banjolele the competes favorably with the competition in the same price range. For full disclosure, Donner sent this to me for review.
You can see my unboxing and first impressions of the instrument at this link: • Donner DBU 200 Banjole...

It seems to sound a bit more banjoey than the Kmise. It's a hair more expensive but who cares about 10 or so dollars. I'm leaning in this direction now.

Thanks for this review. I just ordered this same banjolele for a birthday present for me from my husband :) I have been learning the uke for the last 6 mths. Might have to find an area far away from my husband to play it due to the loudness. I don't want to take the back off. Looks prettier with it on :)

They make banjo mutes that you can use to make it quieter when practicing. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I don't know what is available. The important thing is to measure the hoop and order the arm rest that will fit that size. I donated this instrument to a school fundraiser so I don't have it anymore.

Is the one you unboxed a couple months back? It looks like a decent little banjo/uke. Nice that they used a Remo head.

Yes, this is the one I unboxed back in May. The Remo head is a definite plus!

That's great with the old style *Gibson ub * Co ordinator rod, it's such an easy process if you want a low playing action with a hight 13mm bridge, I think then you'd use the Rod Tool, Hold that securely, un tighten the back nut anti clockwise, then tighten up via the inside of the pot as well as then holding the back nut tight, check your action, and repeat etc if necessary, like you said measure from your 12th fret to the bridge position,,, I'd whip that remo head off and put a calf skin on and that after 1 month would sound as good as any old Pre war Gibson, its all about set up.. Great for George Formby style playing

This is an excellent, balanced review. I just my Donner banjolele a few days ago. I have also noticed the ‘C’ string has a tendency to go flat over a bit of time. Overall, I am very pleased with this instrument for its sound and playability. This is my first quick run through playing it-
