      Hi Niall. Thank you.
      Yes it is a great spot for watching the start of the day. The drone takes a bit of getting used to, you know yourself !! Eventually you have to let it go off into the distance and hope that it comes back . I have got out a few times recently, whenever there is a break in the weather. Hope things are well with you. All the best

      Hi Paul. Thank you. The weather was great, nice and calm which is needed for that spot. its a bit exposed but you get great views from there. Its nice to just sit there and hear the last of the day hikers disappear down the valley below and then silence !! you know yourself with the drone, it takes practice to learn the controls and then have the Ba**s to let it off into the distance. Thanks again for your message. All the best 👍

    A great spot with many fond memories, I walked by there last Friday . .. a place not many see sunset at .
    When you sit there with a packet of tayto and a slice of buttered white bread ., you have truly seen Ireland . .
    Lovely sharing Andrew .
    Brilliant visuals .
    That is a tricky descent on even a good day

      Thank you for your kind comments Owen.
      Yes it is a great spot. Its a long time since I had a crisp sandwich 😂. The decent is very tricky alright, its very wet and had to do a bit of backtracking. I agree that you need a good clear day to be on the safe side. Thanks for you support, and take care 👍

      I don't know if it's ever dry up there , but there is the occasional dry day . Glad you made it back safe , what a place to pitch

    • @Andrew.........
      @Andrew.........  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Owen. Thanks, its taking a while to getting used to flying it, but Im happy with the footage. The time of day and the light seems to play a big part. The pitch was grand, a bit of a slope but a rolled up poncho did the trick of keeping me on the mattress.

      @@Andrew......... I have a rule with the drone , to always keep it's back to the sun . Where possible . .
      It is so hard seeing the screen in daylight 😂

    You certainly possibly got the one flat spot up there! 😊 Did you notice if the sign regarding the zig zag access is still sitting on top of Cloghernagh? I heard Mr Dunne was going to remove it as it stopped me from descending from Cloghernagh to Arts Lough the last time I was there - possibly 7 months ago in fairness. Lovely to see you got great conditions to show off the landscape, drone shots were fab 😎 Lots of fun and adrenaline with it no doubt!! 🤩

    • @pipandbenji
      @pipandbenji 8 месяцев назад +2

      Wonder about that too Miriam

    • @Andrew.........
      @Andrew.........  8 месяцев назад +2

      Hi Miriam, and the flat spot was not very flat 🙃. I didn't see any signs this time around. I know the signs you are talking about as I spotted them about 12 months ago. There seems to be no issue from Cloghernagh to Arts lough. There were a good few hikers using that trail on their way back from Lug. The zig zags are still off limits, which is a shame. The night went well in the tent. I am happy with the drone footage, the good weather helped. Thanks for your support 👍, and hopefully I will bump into you in Wicklow soon. All the best.

      Hi Geoffrey. Thank you. I am relatively new to the world of drone flying and still have my L plates on 😧.I was very pleased at the way the footage turned out. It was great to get out and have good weather for a change . I have visited your neck of the woods ( The Mournes) once and will visit again. All the best 👍

    • @GeoffGreenawayOutdoors
      @GeoffGreenawayOutdoors 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@Andrew......... it definitely has turned out well, fair play for getting them shots. I’ve had my drone a year and a bit and lost one as well 😂 so I’m definitely still on the L plates. The mournes are brilliant and some good camp spots. Keep up the great flying 👍

    Great video. Looks like a fabulous spot.
    Without giving away too much 😉 what mountain would you recommend for a first timer?

    • @Andrew.........
      @Andrew.........  8 месяцев назад

      Hi Tony. That's a tough question. I am going to assume you are from Dublin ?? If you are a regular hiker then I would suggest in Wicklow , Lough Ouler or Stoney top Mountain which is just above it are good. Kellys Lough is also good ( its a bit of a trek into it). Or maybe an Island camp ?? Inishboffin is a spectacular place to spend a night and no mountains to climb 🙂. Its hard to recommend somewhere when you dont know the person.
      Camping equipment and what you will need for the night weighs considerably more than a day hike bag. On my first camp, my bag weighed 14 kg and I was wrecked after 3 km and that was walking on the flat. I hope this is some help. Thank you for subscribing 👍. all the best.

    What a beautiful spot to camp! Question is a private owned land? Can everyone camp there without permission? Thanks

    • @Andrew.........
      @Andrew.........  7 месяцев назад

      Hi.
      Thank you.
      Yes the land is privately owned and technically you shouldn't camp. I was on my own and set up just before dark and moved just after sunrise. It is a spot that is not easy to get to and is secluded. I left no trace and didn't light a fire.
      All the best 👍
