I'm from Ireland and abortion is a very controvertial topic here. Currently abortion is illegal here and our government is constantly stalling and refusing to take a stand on a referendum regarding abortion. I've said this over and over. An embryo/fetus is not a human being. It is a potential human like an acorn is a potential tree. It does not become a separate living being until it can survive outside the womb. Women should have sovereignty over their own bodies. No government should tell her what she can or cannot do with her body. If you want to reduce abortion numbers you make sure people have a high school education, comprehensive sex education in schools, and easy access to birth control.
I believe abortion is a woman's choice no I don't like the idea of it. For medical purposes and in cases of rape or cross breeding where your own male biological family member rapes you should have those rights. However abortion isn't for everyone and late term abortions are dangerous. I have not been in that situation but it is not fair to criticize or judge because they make that choice.
