      Funny, Wiley is talking about about how CP3's numbers in the Finals have increased since the regular season. Not an excuse for sloppy play and losing or playing inferior to Devin Booker. CP3 is the vet. Steph Curry's numbers in the playoffs a Finals generally have increased as well. when the Warriors loose it usually falls on Curry. Why is CP3 getting a pass. Paul has a history of playoff failure. The King of the Flop is flopping in these Finals.

    @wojak-sensei6424 3 года назад +1

    I think it's also good to point out that Chris doesn't need to take over the games that they lost in. Booker is obviously the guy who's shown to be willing and able to carry the load on offense.
    The problem here is that the Suns' schemes in general were too comfortable to rely on Booker iso plays. Where's the Ayton pick-and-roll? Where's Crowder's floor spacing as a stretch? Why don't you get Bridges open more? Why is CP3 on the bench more while Ayton is taking more minutes looking like a sitting duck on offense?
    Both Booker and CP3 played well above or at least equal their limits, but the Suns as a whole aren't playing to their strengths as a pass-heavy motion offense. There's a reason that the Bucks' 3-game winning streak has been brought about by an off-night for Booker resulting in a blowout, a sloppy turnover by Paul, and a double-team on Book. The offense turned predictable and undisciplined, and the Bucks took advantage of that.

    Very few sports commentators are actually intellectually interesting. This conversation highlights the conflict between the individual and the team (or the individual and the field). If the Bucks win this series, when Chris Paul is admitted to the basketball HOF, no one will particularly think of his performance (in these Finals) as bad, but rather, they'll remember how solid and gritty the Bucks were. Also, there's not that much more room for Paul to shine when Booker is handling the ball as much as he has the last two games. CP3 can play better and may not quite have elevated his game to the same degree as Giannis, Middleton, or of course, Booker, however, he's still giving a lot of effort for a dude who is at the end of his career, likely more than a bit banged up, and facing some really tenacious defense.

    Love the debate style! First time I've seen your show and I enjoyed the discussion rather than the 'I need to win this argument' style a lot of other shows (and people) have. "Doing better than the regular season" versus "I need everything you have" is two great points. As a dad I understand Wiley and he's right, but series stats don't matter as much as he wants them to. As an athlete who has an ego I agree with Acho. This is the NBA Finals! No time for "you gave your best" or "your stats are good". I need everything you have, POSSESSION BY POSSESSION because another Finals is not guaranteed. I'm not dealing with sleepless nights and what ifs. CP3 was favoured to win the Finals MVP at the start of the series, PLAY LIKE IT! He's 5th best on the court at best (Giannis, Booker, Middleton and Holiday are far better starters. The order of these 4 doesn't bother me. Even Connaughton is pushing as a 5th best with his hustle and shot making). Missing open shots and low percentage passes (from mid air, no look, being driven out of bounds etc) causing turnovers is not it. He has given the Bucks 18 extra possessions by himself. I haven't watched much of CP3 and this series has me confused why they call him "Point God". With a name like that I'd expect better decisions.

    I feel like many people on the nba media aren’t comfortable with European players coming in and playing great in the league. Acho nailed it and Wiley has to accept the European players are getting more and more importance in the league, Giannis, Luka, Jolie, winning MVPs and now possibly titles. NBA media has been biased against these European players, Stephen A Smith for example. I feel Wiley is not bias but he has been looking because CP3 clearly has been playing mediocre except for one game that is keeping his average per game high

      I'm one of them. Thanks to his reputation and the fanboy LeBron James loving sports media crowning him in the company of Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson, Dwayne Wade, and Jason Kidd is an insult. He's LeBron James' besty so we better show CP3 some love. Not to mention John Stockton, Steve Nash. The I believe he is cursed because of it or it's karma. The dirty play (constant flopping and dirty hits) and antics (driving to an arena to kick Steph Curry off of a court). The flopping has continues to plague him come money time with injury. Isn't flopping fraud? He sells insurance. Why is that? The last person I would want representing my insurance company is someone who demonstrates deception and fraud.

    All of a sudden the goal post moved so low when they ain't talking about Steph Curry.
    CP2-0 didn't get half of the defensive attention Curry did.
    Put Curry in the Suns, they would've swept Bucks already.

    They’re missing the issue, CP3 struggled at the end of games in the finals, bc they shouldn’t have had a 37 yr old playing the most minutes of any player in the series, esp when Cam P. can come in. 2nd CP3 was the best Suns player in game 6 by far & Book couldn’t do anything. The team wasn’t clicking.

    The video says is CP3 a disappointment in the finals and all Marcellus talks about is stuff CP3 did in the previous 3 series. It doesn't matter if you average out his stats from the last 3 series, all that matters is Tuesday night.

    Paul is giving all he has. He hasn't shot badly. He had a few turnovers, costly... but he has played well.
    He playing against a bigger, stronger and younger guards.
    The defense of his opponent isn't getting enough credit.

    Truth is CP3 is to blame for loosing 4 straight. Whenever Booker got hot and CP should've been feeding booker, he didn't. CP3 was out there dribbling the ball and shooting the ball to much. My opinion is CP3 did not want booker to out shine him and avoided passing the ball to booker alot. CP3 wanted to be the star and the fact is he should've played his role and be a game manager. If CP would've just played point guard and let booker be the shooting gaurd they would've won. But cp3 was hogging the ball, only passing the ball when he was stuck. He tried to out play booker his own teamate. This is why suns list this series. Smh

    After the Milwaukee Bucks win the NBA 2021 Championship tomorrow...
    I wager the morning after Sports Media "could've, would've, should've" analysis will more than likely lament how disappointing Chris Paul subpar performance was than giving any credit to how the Bucks outplayed the Suns

  • @ryantheregularravensfan8151
    @ryantheregularravensfan8151 3 года назад

    Both sides of this debate make sense but I have 1 question: what ever happened to "that guy/team WON" instead of "that guy/team LOST"???? See at some point losses aren't always about losing because of yourself as much as losing because the other guy was better...give credit where it's due...Gannis went off with 40 & 50 point games this series...why say C. Paul didn't do enough instead of saying Gannis was a man possessed!!!?? A point guards assists are based on someone else finishing but a big mans rebounds are based mainly on his own effort...a point guards job is to manage the ENTIRE floor but the scorer's job is to manage himself putting the ball in the hoop...at some point ppl need to focus on how good Gannis was rather than how poorly others were...jmt

    • @riosworld849

      I think everybody understands the bucks caught a break too, but remember Giannis was hurt too in the ECF but I think the bucks would have had a better chance getting to the finals even if Brooklyn wasn't hurt compared to the Sun's making it, and I think that's where the discrepancy lies.
