That is the best description of 'The Dreamer' I've heard online. One of my all time favourites. I was born in 77 and been wearing it since my 20's. I'd add Lancome Hypnose for under £30 which i adore.A great date scent when you don't want a shouty scent. Zara's 'Scent#1' a copy of Le Labo's 'Santal 33' for £10 is brilliant value. Please give it a go. I walked into Le Labo's shop in Soho and had a cheeky tester and seriously was amazed at how similiar it was. £180 for the original 100ml or a tenner from Zara? Also picked up a bottle of Lempicka Homme 2018 for £20 just because i don't want to use up my original ' Au Masculin' or the Intense version that i own. Great but just not as sweet as the original but a very good replacement. Performance issue with it still but amazing smell still. Ferrari ' Essence Oud' for £14 is another i picked up for the Winter. Bit off the subject but i picked up a copy of Gaultier2 on my hols in greece for £7 for 30ml which is so close to the original its untrue ! Its very Oily but lasts an age !

I wore The Dreamer yesterday and today! Quite rare for me to wear the same fragrance two days running but it was the first time I'd worn it in ages and I just thought, 'Why have I not worn this in ages?' Love it. Nice picks in there sir and I must try out The Lalique.

For years I've wanted to try Lalique ...but I've heard it has no projection? Great list. Problem with me is that I don't like "fresh" scents. I love heavy hitters. I love leathery, boozy, tobacco, oudish and animalic skank. Omg I had Esraa! Loved it. Rasasi is awesome imo. Thanks for the quick response I had to edit- balsam is like resinousy tree sap, which I love

Excellent presentation. You do a super job, keep up the great work. Here's an idea, what about a Clone- Off? For example comparing a major Niche or Designer cologne to most of the major clones or inexpensive fragrances. For example comparing Dior Sauvage to to 4 to 6 similar fragrances including, Perfume Parlour, Alexandria Fragrances, Armaf Ventana and also including Prada Luna Rossa Carbon and Dylan Blue.

My favorite in this price range is Encre Noir L'Extreme. From your picks I only know The Dreamer and I quite like it!

Love the intro 😂😂😂 Ive yet to smell a Rasassi I didnt like. Because they are so cheap I blind bought Enteba and Hawas and enjoy them both. Enteba is unique with a little Creeed SMW opening and Hawas is a generic women pleaser compared to Invictus Aqua.

Lalique Pour Homme is a real grower- it took me by surprise at first after owning several other Lalique fragrances. I wasn't expecting the vintage vibe- but once I got past that, it is an extremely well done fragrance. Longevity is very good and the projection is gentlemanly- not beastly, but enough. Very calm and classic scent!

Great job as always Mr. Smelly! Your picture of Maurice Roucel had me in stitches! You and Smurfygurly have the best fragrance reviews out there. Keep up the good work. My best inexpensive buy of the year is "Mountain Man" EDT by Stirling Soap Company. It is a spot-on clone of Silver Mountain Water. Unbelievable value! Not sure if their EDT is available in the UK yet.

I really like the dreamer it was the last fragrance they realeased with Gianni Versace still running the company and the smell is very nostalgic without feeling dated
I have a form of synesthesia where I can often see smells. It was much more pronounced when I was younger. I've also been wearing the dreamer for yours. I've always seen a slight purple haze when I smelled. I've gotten many compliments over the years because of the dreamer. It looks like it's experiencing a resurgence in popularity

Lalique Pour Homme was my scent of day - so true regarding scent description, great performance (in cold NE US weather); a great Smelly recommendation from past vids that has garnered a compliment pour moi. One more recommendation for Dreamer; may eventually check out. Great intro as always. Cheers!
Versace dreamer... Lasts forever.. Certainly not for everyone but i love it..
Picked up Lalique Pour Homme earlier this year, and definitely agree on that one being a great cheapie. Also picked up Lalique Encre Noire a L’Extreme and Encre Noire Sport- the whole house seems to be a great value.

"I don't get tons of compliments all the time." I can relate. I think it's the intimidation factor of either our dashing good looks or our formidable scents or a combination thereof. Seriously, though. That one time the lady working at the DMV gushed over the Mugler Cologne I was wearing made me want to hug her. 😆Come to think of it, I hadn't come within 10 feet of her in the room when she did so. Maybe that's a bit telling as well.

Lalique pour homme is lovely. The citrus open is not too strong and I like when citrus opens to mid notes quickly like this

Lalique pour Homme excellent buy. Equs by Lalique another good buy. The Laventure excellent for the price. Have to try the Rasasi. BTW Balsam is a type of conifer. Ever try Vera Wang? Happy Christmas to you and Smurfygirl. Peace and be well my friend ✌

always wondered when reviewrs say "this smells a bit synthetic" what do they/you mean
arent most of the notes used in the majority of fragrances man made rather than natural
even for so called niche perfumes - i mean i cant imagine someone distilling apples/plums/pear/coffee/tobacco or even woody/floral notes whatever in the manufacture of the perfume
surely the main thing is if it smells nice

I have to say I'm a little surprised. I thought Versace's "The Dreamer" smelled more like Bogart Pour Homme. Further Dolce and Gabbana pour homme smells better IMHO than either Bogart pour homme or Versace "The Dreamer".
It's just the tobacco note that is a bt similar. I agree the Dreamer is not very similar to D&G PH.
Tried the Lalique on your recommendation...I find it synthetic and cloying, unlike BdP...got headaches from it.

Awesome Awesome want to try DREAMER so bad because of the presentation. Never bought it though, just skipped over it because I felt like I ALREADY have too many Tobacco Scents at the moment. Realizing that the NOTE is a more synthetic version of Tobacco is comforting in a weird way lol

L’Aventure is easily better. Tres Nuit is still good but not as good as the Al Haramain.

I blind bought dreamer, it's ok, but now I use it as air freshener in the bathroom
Sometimes these cheapies end up getting used that way! But I think it is a great fragrance and not just for the toilet.

Dreamers a good fragrance, doesnt get the love it deserves. On me the projection a sillage is beast mode, and I'm one of the few that would appear to like the opening too. Bang for your Buck.
