the helicopter is also usable for many different patterns of play. Like the fact a minifigure can sand in most places and that the cockpit includes four seats. The millennium falcon doesn't even have four seats.
My favourite thing about this set is that you can actually fit the little car thing from the smallest set of the wave in the helicopter instead of the bike and boat. I just find compatibility between sets neat.
Oh yeah, the ATV would make for a fun companion for this set, and gunning it off the rear ramp is absolutely the sort of Nathan Drake kind of adventurer move that this theme calls for.
@@samcushing3790 I know this is a joke, but it made me curious. £8 in 1980 would've been £33 today, and considering that the set would've had like a third as many pieces that does strangely kinda hold up.
Dig the heli, would love to see a Space set enclosed with that amount of space and detail, if such a thing is possible without the price getting out of whack. Lot of cool details in these explorer sets
As someone who owns a few large City helicopters, and didn't think new ones would add that much, I definitely was wrong. As a kid, I would love the fact that all the base and human stuff fits inside the helicopter! The volcano explorer one from a few years ago had to lift the base everywhere [which is still cool], but having it all inside feels super neat. And as Lego_Chewbacca says - if you own the smallest set, the car from it will fit inside too! That's the kind of collaboration I love seeing in Lego designs, and the fact that it is the smallest/cheapest set means you don't have to spend a ton of money if you want that extra feature. I agree that another sleeping area would be nice - I could see a minimal use of parts and still be able to get it to fit inside [if you break it down] - a vinyl tent with a plate large enough for 2 sleeping bags - perhaps something like the new 42603 Friends set that has the tent on top of the not-Jeep vehicle. Then you could sleep 3 people at once, with the 4th on watch duty, looking out for any gorillas. :) The adult kid in me kinda wants this set now. :) Thank you again, for this enjoyable and fair review of this set! The designer[s] should be proud of this one!
I really loved building this. I don’t think I fully realised how much stuff you got with this until it was all built! The story and play possibilities with this are fantastic so I can’t help but agree with your summary here. I think LEGO have done well with this jungle/explorer sub-theme; not a single miss for me 😊😎😊
Wow. This set really shows what a hefty sized Star Wars up-charge is being added onto those themed sets ( I hate calling it a ‘tax’ cause that extra money isn’t going towards maintaining the local roads). For $100 you can buy the Sith Infiltrator and the Grogu escape set which is sad when you look at the size of this set (which would easily cost $140 in the SW theme).
Love the size and playability of this set. Someone somewhere is trying to put motor functions in this thing for the rotors lol. I personally feel though this wave is missing one or two more sets but this is impressive
Those food crates are such a great idea and nice touch. It’d be nice to have something similar for any future city space sets, since anytime you look at the real life space station it’s packed with supplies like those food storage crates.
Has anyone else noticed that the map pieces in these sets fit together into a bigger map. Also, I love just how much you get in this set. Even for $100, this set feels fairly priced.
I like that the helicopter is a somewhat unusual design and not some faithful recreation of a real aircraft model. This stimulates creativity in children.
Are City prices finally becoming reasonable again? Feels like the bigger sets have demanded outrageous prices until only last year. Guess LEGO figured they couldn't get away with every in-house theme being insanely priced along with the licensed themes, too.
Idk if that motor bike piece is new or not but I LOVE it! It reminds me of the old police bikes from the OG Town era. They're finally going back to smaller, more realistic scaled bike pieces. Some of the ones they've been using for the past 10 years feel so bulky and oversized, like something you'd see on the movie "Akira"
Really wanted to buy this but waited for your review for safety. But given big Chinook and the monke groups, this gonna be an easy pick up! Thanks for your super detailed reviews as always!
WOW. When is the last time we've had a LEGO set that is fully involved, has multiple mechanical functions, has fantastic molds for creatures, in-box customization and has a full interior??? Hot dang lol I have no problem paying $100 for this. I wont be picking it up anytime soon, most likely, but this is something kid me would mow a lot of lawns for lol Awesome set. Good job LEGO
I'm pretty sure the minifigs included are meant to be the same ones from the previous arctic exploration sets. Only 2 have different hair pieces, but are still the same color, and mechanic and vet are the exact same. Bit of neat storytelling imo
This set has much better value than it seems from the pics. Great helicopter and it’s awesome that you can fit almost everything else in it, I like sets that allow you to store details compactly. Speaking of details, all side builds are appropriate and nicely made, definitely a lot of play possibilities. Awesome bike! It’d be nice to have it for $80-85 but $100 seems pretty fair too.
Great video review! Lego, oh Lego, what is with the un-poseable gorillas? And monkeys? And most other new animals? With how expensive the big animals are, there is no excuse for them to be so static, like statues.
Thanks for the review! I now like the set much more than from the product images alone. I only feel sorry about the fact that there's way less animals per jungle set than in the recent wildlife sets (both the savanna ones and the marine/arctic ones). In Germany there's already a 30% discount on this set and all new jungle sets combined are available for roughly 110€ in sum, which I think is a good deal.
Are those the same characters from the arctic exploration? Cyberpunk mechanic girl was working on the big ship as well. The photograph was in the small set with the snow scooter. Head of expedition was with the submarine and the mid set with boat and divers.
At just 2 mins in and I must ask, why can't Star Wars Lego sets have thos level of interior space and detail? Look at just the cockpit alone, that is crazy space. Let alone everything else in between.
Kinda reminds me of a set that had elephants in it from a year or two ago, I got that one for a decent price on eBay cause it was missing a couple inconsequential pieces. A helicopter was the biggest build in that one too. (My nephew loves that thing, he’s 3 and it’s one of the few toys he doesn’t throw and act wild with)
Hi Jang! Hoping you can answer my question; does the truck from 60426 fit in the helicopter? (Where the base would normally go) or the ATV from set 60424? Thanks!
this is amazing pricing idk i really think 100 is great like compare that to the star wars gunship, smaller just the gunship cant stand figures in properly less quality and only one thing this is huge with so much extra
Again, I think there is too much side build in this set. I would prefer to have a larger, more detailed helicopter. I don’t think we need to have a jungle side built. We can create our own jungles. Children can create the jungle and their backyards.they could use those side pieces for mini figs or a larger helicopter.
Still don't think the color-scheme fits a jungle environment. Still, this could be the best twin rotor helicopter Lego has done so far and it is definitely one of the better sets of this sub-theme.
This is one of the few times where a hundred bucks feels justified because you're getting a big helicopter
Not only that but a ton of neat playable side builds and accessories plus minifigs and rare animals, all in one neat thematically appropriate package.
I wish it was just the helicopter though.
the helicopter is also usable for many different patterns of play. Like the fact a minifigure can sand in most places and that the cockpit includes four seats. The millennium falcon doesn't even have four seats.
For some reason it just really scratches an itch in my brain when you can put all the little stuff into one big vehicle. Always a win for me
My favourite thing about this set is that you can actually fit the little car thing from the smallest set of the wave in the helicopter instead of the bike and boat.
I just find compatibility between sets neat.
Just imagine Not Johny Thunder jumping off the heli on his jungle buggy, how awesome is that!
Oh yeah, the ATV would make for a fun companion for this set, and gunning it off the rear ramp is absolutely the sort of Nathan Drake kind of adventurer move that this theme calls for.
im happy lego is doing jungle explorers again
Only $100 for this feels like old school lego prices! I wish every set was costed this way
Old school? In the 80s when I was buying Lego this would’ve been around £8!!
Nah it feels way overpriced
@@samcushing3790 I know this is a joke, but it made me curious. £8 in 1980 would've been £33 today, and considering that the set would've had like a third as many pieces that does strangely kinda hold up.
@@samcushing3790To be fair to this set, its value is the same as a $26 set from the 1980s.
The colors of this set remind me of the old coast guard sets Lego made!
really good playset, it has everything you need for an adventure, wish I had it as a kid
Dig the heli, would love to see a Space set enclosed with that amount of space and detail, if such a thing is possible without the price getting out of whack. Lot of cool details in these explorer sets
The ATV with Johnny Thunder fits perfectly in the back cargo section, I feel like I had to get that one too, for the nostalgie.
One of the best transport type helicopters in lego city I believe
I wish they'd bring back the Gothic Castle stuff from the nineties.
As someone who owns a few large City helicopters, and didn't think new ones would add that much, I definitely was wrong. Thank you again, for this enjoyable and fair review of this set! The designer[s] should be proud of this one!
This is basically just a City Republic Gunship lol
FOR THE REPU-Municipal wildlife conservatory- UBLIC!
Copperthepig here from twitch, I think I am actually gonna use this as a sort of Chinook helicopter
Showing concern for the minifig hair getting messed up lol
You make me smile.
I really loved building this. I don’t think I fully realised how much stuff you got with this until it was all built!
The story and play possibilities with this are fantastic so I can’t help but agree with your summary here.
I think LEGO have done well with this jungle/explorer sub-theme; not a single miss for me 😊😎😊
Duel rotor helicopters are so cool
This set looks absolutely fantastic! Thanks for your video Jang! ❤

This looks like such a good set. Great video jang. Love the reveiws
This is a great one. I always love when big things actually carry a lot of stuff
Love the size and playability of this set. Someone somewhere is trying to put motor functions in this thing for the rotors lol. I personally feel though this wave is missing one or two more sets but this is impressive
definitely getting this set. Very efficient helicopter
The orange dark blue and white plus the shapes gives me recuse hero vibes
This set captures the best of the old Adventurers/Johnny Thunder sets. Great play features and integration with the side builds.
This is awesome, and the helicopter is the best they have ever done imo. Absolutely nuts level of playability!
Those food crates are such a great idea and nice touch. It’d be nice to have something similar for any future city space sets, since anytime you look at the real life space station it’s packed with supplies like those food storage crates.
I would love this set as a kid! I hope lots of kids get to enjoy it too
I love the gorillas! I’m super happy with the way Lego has expanded the animals in its library over the last few years.
Between construction, jungle and the other sets, City really nailed it this year!
That a really nice value for such a big set!
Been waiting for this one!
Very impressive set and lots of play value! One of the best for sure!
Has anyone else noticed that the map pieces in these sets fit together into a bigger map. Also, I love just how much you get in this set. Even for $100, this set feels fairly priced.
I'm not a huge fan of stickers but I actually feel like this set needs more. It feels a little sparse. Maybe something on the side door flaps.
been waiting for this review! thank you jang!
If you just want the baby Gorilla, it comes with the polybag set 30665.
Great set! I love everything that comes with it! The helicopter looks awesome!
This one is super cool
Should be easy to motorise!
I love this quality little details and parts and in the same time the overall lackluster of these sets
That baby gorilla might be the cutest lego piece ever made lol.
I like that the helicopter is a somewhat unusual design and not some faithful recreation of a real aircraft model. This stimulates creativity in children.
I love the biker/mechanic’s hair!

Dope set
Gorillas!!!? I love gorillas!

Again a great toy. The gorillas are beautiful! So are your reviews! Thank you!
Epic city helicopter great minifigs awesome review jang 👍
Finally, Big Lego helicopters again.
That looks a very nice set. The colours of the helicopter reminds me of a popular fizzy orange drink. Funta? 😊 hehe.
Great review, this definitely seems like a good value. A complete playset which is a welcome change. Retail price is fine for what you get here.
This looks like a great addition to the jungle adventures theme this year.
The terrain piece is impressive, too.
This feels like one of the best helicopters they've done in recent years.
Best of all, the chopper doesn't even use those huge cockpit pieces!
The pilot is Harry Cane from Adventurers.
Lego has gotten very good at actually using the internal space of their builds. Very good heilo

I can see people upgrading and custom building it into a military style helicopter, I love how it has so much interior space 😎
Color scheme feels like arctic from back in the day.
To think LEGO charged us $80 usd for Jurassic Park Brachiosaurus and the legs don't even move. OOF
VERY COOL HELI
Are those the same characters from the arctic exploration? Cyberpunk mechanic girl was working on the big ship as well. The photograph was in the small set with the snow scooter. Head of expedition was with the submarine and the mid set with boat and divers.
Top. Big size City (Explores) Heli sets are still a solid corner of Lego. Like this also.
At just 2 mins in and I must ask, why can't Star Wars Lego sets have thos level of interior space and detail? Look at just the cockpit alone, that is crazy space. Let alone everything else in between.
This one is beautiful up close. Great review!
Kinda reminds me of a set that had elephants in it from a year or two ago, I got that one for a decent price on eBay cause it was missing a couple inconsequential pieces. A helicopter was the biggest build in that one too. (My nephew loves that thing, he’s 3 and it’s one of the few toys he doesn’t throw and act wild with)
Front wheels should turn like those shopping cart wheels when pushing it sideways.
The best thing about the set is the gorillas 🦍 and Lego did an amazing job making the first ever official Lego gorilla not including gorilla grodd
hey if you dont know all the maps that comes in every single set can be combined in a coherent way
Wish the new LAAT had this space!
Hi Jang! Hoping you can answer my question; does the truck from 60426 fit in the helicopter? (Where the base would normally go) or the ATV from set 60424? Thanks!
The Worst Looking CH-47 Frank-in-Copter - Great Review -
Really was hoping for rear leg articulation, so lame they don't do that anymore with new animals... The gorilla could have been epic.
Wish they gave us 4 sets in the Imperial Shuttle
I would convert that to military one.
wow
Ngl this looks like one of the Cargobobs from GTA5 minus the color ofc lol
I hope we get same organisation also coming years, not just 2023, 2024. (LOGO)
Wait a second some of these figures or characters were in the underwater wave. The mechanic and vet specifically
All of them. They are the same characters continuing their journey.
I am so annoyed the Gorrilas dont either have two anti stud arms or two of the holding hand arms. They would be so perfect!
this is amazing pricing idk i really think 100 is great like compare that to the star wars gunship, smaller just the gunship cant stand figures in properly less quality and only one thing this is huge with so much extra
bricks out for harambe
100 is so worth it
YUM
I’m just wish they used the same color scheme as the older yellow jungle sets to have that conformity would have been cool
Again, I think there is too much side build in this set. I would prefer to have a larger, more detailed helicopter. I don’t think we need to have a jungle side built. We can create our own jungles. Children can create the jungle and their backyards.they could use those side pieces for mini figs or a larger helicopter.
Base Camp 😂
Strange to have two male gorillas taking care of a cub. Where are the ladies?
If Lego thinks I'm going to pay $100 for a set just because it includes a couple apes, they are gosh dang right..
You can get the Gorrilas for like 12$ on BL. Small one is in Polybag
I‘m kind of disappointed…jungle theme returns, and then it‘s another huge helicopter and no jungle, just a green sidebuild like 10% of the set.
Still don't think the color-scheme fits a jungle environment. Still, this could be the best twin rotor helicopter Lego has done so far and it is definitely one of the better sets of this sub-theme.
Man this is a sweet set. I just don't like the colors or I probably would get it.
Looks $70 max
