Beyoncé is NOT overrated-ppl may not like her music but she is one of the very best performers and vocalists of all time, 15:18 Kehlani is one of the best performers, singers and songwriters and one of my favorites of all time. blue water road should've been nominated for album of year and gotten more awards. Much love to Beyonce as a Top-tier performer, but Michael Jackson was a one-of-a-kind enigma. He has the same, if not better, performing ability with writing accolades as well. I think what people mean when they say we need to be honest about artists like Ice Spice is that even though they are good artists (they make music that moves you), they are bad craftsmen (they have questionable technical ability). And that's okay. You don't have to be a good craftsmen to be a good artist. But that also means that just because you're a good artist, you aren't automatically a good craftsmen. I just wish we could have these conversations without bad actors and trolls popping up. I will always defend girls like Ice Spice who make the music that they do because any argument against them is purely misogyny. At the same time, we can't have an honest conversation about the quality of said music, because bad actors and trolls always pop up and ruin it.

I may be wrong, but I think the reason that Kehlani may not be pushed as much on award shows or (idk how to say this lol) represented as well is because of the inherent transphobia and homophobia in the industry because they are non-binary and and lesbian. @@JoyEmpress I think its just the label that feels most comfortable using. There isn't a widely used word for nonbinary people who are exclusively attracted to women so maybe that's why the decided to use that. The other option is basically gynesexual/gynosexual (which honestly sounds kind of questionable) that applies to all people who are attracted to exclusively women, all though I think if you told someone that you were gynosexual they'd probably get very confused so some people may use it to make it easier. I've also heard of a lot of people just calling themselves gay or queer as an umbrella term. I'm berriromantic, asexual, and nonbinary so I don't know a lot about this topic but as someone who identifies as a very very unknown sexual orientation, I tend to tell people I'm pansexual. Nevertheless, even though she has a huge community of fans outside the US, her impact in the rest of the world is not as big as in the English-speaking world. Here in Europe, my friends have not heard any new songs from her since Drunk In Love, we've all missed Lemonade, The Lion King and Renaissance except for her fans. Personally, I see her as a huge performer committed to her work with great vocals, but I have to admit that her artistic talents when it comes to writing/crafting music are quite limited. Cardi B did not revive female rap. Cuz before she came into the industry we had Iggy, Azealia, Young MA who were popping up at the same time alongside Nicki Minaj. The narrative that Nicki was the only top girl in the game was false. Iggy literally had the top 2 billboard hits in 2014 and was so commercially successful from 2012-2016. The only difference between Nicki and the rest of the Female rappers is consistency. And compared to when Nicki came into the industry when female rap was dead, Cardi popped up when there was Remy Ma, Iggy, Azealia, etc

    • @CamrynSuzanne

What you said is not wrong, but we have never had this many female rappers charting , making hits, and sharing the spotlight. I’m not saying cardi was a savior😂 just saying after her, you cannot deny how many female artists started to pop out on the scene. Many rap girls credit cardi saying “if she did it, i knew I could” and I think her appearance in the industry gave some girls the extra push to try to get in the game.
Nicki is a GOAT. Really no one compares hence the other women charting during her reign had hits, but it wasn’t like they were on the same exact level. I think now you see more women on the same playing field talent wise, looks, sound etc. some would say that’s a bad thing but it undeniable

Beyonce is most certainly overrated even considering she is the best entertainer alive today IMO. Any artist who reaches a level of fame where people literally worship and idolize them as if they were a literal deity/God is overrated. And saying she is more talented than Michael Jackson is questionable. She has the better voice for sure, but I think Michael edges her out in performance and completely destroys her in artistry/songwriting. Beyonce can sAng and perform, but her artistic talent in terms of writing/crafting remains to be seen considering she has stolen writing credits, plagiarized other artists (from visuals to music to production), and has yet to write an album/good amount of songs solo (a lot of times it's her and a dozen or other writers). Writers have even spoken against her and her father for trying to strongarm their way into the credits of songs she had no hand in writing. So, is she immensely talented, successful, and arguably the greatest performer alive today? Yep. Is she on Michael's level? Not at the present, not even close. No one is.

I wouldn't say she was the greatest entertainer to ever live or the greatest writer to ever live. I didn't start the comparison, the comparison was made in the video. I merely gave my commentary, which I am sure upset some very overzealous stans. lol

Even if you like to just enjoy music for what it is (subjective), there are still plenty of ways to objectively talk about and critique music because objectively, a lot of these artists aren’t GOOD. They aren’t talented. Subjectively though, people like Ice and Sexy are good to some and bad to others but never objectively could they be seen as talented rappers/artists

this is not even unpopular, this title should be renamed to unpopular popular opinion sis.
Beyoncé highly benefitted from colorism, featurism, and texturism. And other racism factors of fitting the desirable characteristics of being a palatable Black woman and Black musician..

If SZA wasnt successful a lot of people would have said its because she sounds white (surburban). You cant compare a lit if RnB girlies to SZA because she has from the beginning made RnB music thats appealing to everyone including to the white girls that Listen to Taylor Swift only.
Y'all sleep on Ari Lennox a lot and it shows.
As for the Normani situation a lit of y'all forget that she has 2 parents that are diagnosed with Cancer, after the release of Fair her Father was diagnosed with it right after her mother was battling it during 2020 & 2021. If your a real Normani fan you'd know as well that she trying to make music that suits her voice in both RnB and in Pop, she had been working on a movie, she had a bad manager who didn't do much good for her & the former CEO of RCA plus her manager were sabotaging some of her collaborations with Chainsmokers & Dua Lipa.
Kehlani isn't good with handling industry politics plus shes independent so that doesn't work to her advantage

Yeah sza expands past R&B demographic, I truly realize that once I went to her SOS concert. Literally everyone was there.
Also, I learned that a couple months ago about both of Normani’s parents so that absolutely makes sense why she’s absent in some ways and I think more people should have empathy for that
As for Kehlani, I agree. I think she’s content where she’s at though and to be honest selfishly I don’t mind her staying where she’s at because kehlani’s such a gem

ia with the normani assessment but it is 100 % her fault. she quite literally said she was that girl and we're going to be shook and eating are words when she drops but like.. that was, 3 years ago? so i dont really blame people for waiting for her superstar pop debut when thats what she told us to expect. if she wants to retire just say that
on beyonce, IA that if you say shes not talented singer and performer then you probably are just a hater, she has something that almost no artists have nowadays and she always has. BUT her music is not really up to par considering how people praise her. no one wants to say it but sonically beyonce is a trend hopper, not setter. I cant think of what mark she'd really leave on the music industry as she really doesnt have any iconic songs and her stage presence and charisma cant be copied. comparing her to MJ is honestly wild because shes the exact opposite to me

9:24 I love you but DAMN! Beyoncé is not NEAR damn Michael Jackson. He was one of a kind. He didn’t steal from others, sell his soul, destroy careers, disrespect Christianity, he was original and so much more. She’s not his equivalent AT ALL and NEVER will be.

  • @sherylsutherland1183
    @sherylsutherland1183 2 месяца назад

So you like ice spice who song are wack and basic and she has no stage presence compared to cardi b who she may have a Ghost Rider or not but she delivers when she does to her and has stage presence. And as far as Beyonce yes she's a good entertainer but for me she's overrated because she's not original she steals from people and doesn't give them credit she's always getting sued because she steals and then she has these people that are hypnotized by her like she's a cult in vocally when she sings she's robotic she doesn't sing with meaning or emotions she's just trying to be perfect I want to hear a singer with a little bit of grit and emotions and I find it very suspicious that nobody's come to even match to rival Beyonce and like I said she's not that great of a singer there are much better people out there that can sing better than her but supposedly she doesn't want anybody else on top but her

@@Galorrrreeeee I'd advise against doing witchcraft of any kind. Not all spirits are kind and have your best intentions at heart. A lot of amateur witches dabble into witchcraft and find themselves sinking into depression, anxiety and sleep paralysis etc. It's not worth the risk just to gain healthy vibrations.
