That "WHAAAAR!" noise they let out when they kick barrels always gets to me. It's even funnier on the Sega Genesis sound chip! This is exciting. I don't know why a Genesis version of Final Fight means this much to me, but somehow, it just does. I feel like, we should have had this.

Still annoys me game mags back in the day shilled the snes FF it was a TERRIBLE port. Sega CD was way better and this proves it could have been done better on the Genesis as well.

I understand Capcom was under strict licensing issues with Nintendo back then but this perfectly illustrates that the Megadrive/Genesis was more than capable of handling this game since the CPS1 and Megadrive share the same 68000 CPU although the Megadrive having less RAM, less ROM space, and lower color palette that it was possible. 😊
It really wasn't capable of handling the game. If you actually put the same number of enemies on the screen as the arcade it'll have a lot of slowdown, and obviously it's going to look like b u + + due to the limited colors. You also can't really use the arcade sprites because of the resolution difference. It's really baffling that people are wasting time on this when there are far superior ways to play the game today.
@@youtubesuresuckscock There's examples of games like the Streets Of Rage that can have 6 to 8 enemies on screen and Streets Of Rage 2/3 that can have 4 or 5 enemies on screen with zero slowdown. If I'm not mistaken I read somewhere that Final Fight CD which also handles large amounts of enemies mid-game is primarily executed in Single Core 68000 CPU and few codes on the Co-Processor other than handling CD Music and Audio. But you're right about the sprite size and why this homebrew seems to be using sprites lifted from the SNES sprites with reduced color.
@@thedrunkmonkshow Even the X68000 version had to limit the number of characters on the screen relative to the arcade version. FF actually has more going on than Streets of Rage. You can't even jump on top of objects in SOR.

Qualquer pessoa entendeu o meu comentário. Yooooo this is insane, i been trying to adapt just the first stage to the megadrive and its also my first foray into megadrive development and its not been easy with color and memory restraints and now these guys come along and beat me to the punch, nah its cool though this port is looking fantastic and also great to hear the music adapted to the ym2612, stellar job. we wait with baited breath for future updates. :D
Okay, this looks good. Graphically it's on point, soundtrack wise it's pretty solid, though I prefer the Sega CD arrangements still, and you're presenting some interesting features from go. I am impressed with your conversion of the voice samples. All in all, this looks promising and I look forward to finding out more.

Capcom was very lazy on SNES arcade ports. I guess the only exceptions are Street Fighter 2, Magic Sword and King of Dragons. The other Beatmup ports suck bad
Awesome. Maybe name it Final Fight MD, Mega Final Fight, or Final Fight AC? To make it more in line with the hardware branding? Also, maybe correct some of the original grammar errors like "childhood" as one word. Looks great so far!
When the game is complete you will understand the reason for the word Ultimate, because it will not be an ordinary Final Fight. About the opening of the game, English is not our native language, and I never knew about this grammatical error. I'll take a look at that, thanks for the tip!
