  • In today's video, we test out the Axis and Slingshot hydrofoil dockstart setups. Turns out, I'm trash with the slingshot setup in position B.

Slingshot setup pos B is for windfoil. You have to put your feets a little bit more forward, but this will increase "springyness" of whole system. So pumping you got used to can be inefficient.
Change to A may help. However it is low aspect wing, may be is not good for PnG.

You are correct, in part 2 of this video I was able to get it. It was tough though!

Thanks for the video..where are you? no wetsuit needed at this time of year!!. I just got an Axis PnG 1150 after switching from Naish HA 1800. Had 70 attempts w/Naish got some glides. First session 10 attempts yesterday w/ 1150..no glide… hopped on, stalled & nose dived. My stance may be too wide..You make it looks so easy😊 just hop on 1150 & go….

No prob! I am in alabama, but its in the 30s/40s now so wetsuit is in full swing. I started with a super wide stance and it was pretty difficult, but now its much more narrow which is more efficient and easier to keep the cadence. It took over a thousand tries on the quantum 100 to learn how to actually pump though! Just don't give up, its super rewarding.

It looks like that Slingshot front foil is 5 to 6 inches forward distance from the mast to the actual front wing, were as the axis is not that much distance, maybe 2 inches.

The current front wing position probably is for Wind-Foiling with lots of weight in front of the mast foot, and not for pumping :)?
