My first 3DS broke in the same way, back in 2014 then by Christmas I got the XL, then the top screen broke in 2021, then got another 3DS, in 2022, along with DSi, New 3DS, 2DS, and 2DSXL. I have a Wii U too, but I'm searching for a capture card designed for the game pad.
A favourite 3DS game is hard, excluding ACNL, I don't know. But other system favourites: DS: Dragon Quest 9 and the reason why it's one of my Let's plays, and Zelda Phantom Hourglass for its uniqueness. PC: Doki Doki Literature Club. XBox360: Blue Dragon, fantastic for a game released in 2006, and looks as good as some present day releases, and Dragon's Dogma. Wii: Dokapon Kingdom. Wii U: Zelda Wind Waker. GameBoy: Zelda Link to the Past. GameCube: ? N64: ? PS: ? NS: Pokemon Legends Arceus.
