      @edwardraison9073 19 дней назад

      I disagree that his legacy was disrespected by the club. Their socials were flooded with Heppell content. The team all ran out with Hepp on their jumpers.
      He was definitely good enough to play against Carlton so it’s a real shame that he wasn’t selected and I don’t think it was the right call. But that’s not a sign of disrespect when compared with everything else the club did for him in the lead up.

      Which part of his legacy do you feel needs to be respected most? Is the doping or the failure to succeed? 😂

      @@Termintor1 Interesting point but to be fair, I dont blame any players for the bombers doping scandal. Decisions like that are made at the highest level, players just do what they're told. The players were punished, suspended and shamed in the media when they were just following orders and none of them really knew what was going on.
      Heppel stuck fat when most players left the bombers. It would have been easy for Heppell to leave the club at the time like other players but he stuck around and stayed loyal to a club, who destroyed a lot of players careers..
      Im a Norf supporter but Essendon should have been extra respectful given the history.

      @@tubester4567 Maybe people in the position of a being a top level sportsman should know whats going on. Playing dumb doesn’t cut it unfortunately. Lets be honest, Heppell is a slow plodder who probably wasnt going to get much interest anywhere else. Would you want Dyson Heppell plodding around with your midfield with no speed, little arms like 17 year old and no much to show for himself success wise?

Otherwise its the exact same finishing position on the ladder, the same horrific percentage and the exact same drop off in the second half of the season. Simply not good enough and Brad Scott has a lot to answer to for it with his dreadful gameplan, horrific mid-week team selections all year, just 3 young debutants in his 2 years which is the least amount in the competition and his pathetic excuses in post match press conferences that have only encouraged even more mediocrity.
