Yeah Izzy had round 2, but it wasnt even a dominant round or anything. Just a round where you go "yup, he won that by a few strikes"... Strickland absolutely shut Izzy down man. Izzy was done after that knockdown, you could tell it messed with him mentally and physically. Precision was completely gone. Honestly the referee should have stopped it after Sean beat Izzy's head with likes 10+ unanswered strikes in round 1. Going 4 more rounds after a concussion like that isnt good for your career going forward.
That first round was bad lol… after he rocked Izzy he had his head pressed against the cage and was pounding on it… he hit him with like 10 bombs…. Sean is Izzys dad
Sean humiliated him during the lead up, Sean took the fans away from Izzy and had them cheering him on... And then absolutely demolishes him at his own game. Stunning performance, honestly it should go down as Performance of the Year. Easily top 5 of all times in my opinion.
Exactly this is my comment earlier, it’s crazy world no one will give the credit when it is Due, but to add here is my opinion, The man Got beaten even from the Press conference he was being exposed until the 4 rounds plus his dog jerks nail polish 💅 his titts being china’s man and African, ezzie have too much tails to wrap around him hence He was all over the place the needs to go and get his brains checked and a good psychiatrist
Agreed. And frankly for Izzy to have expected anything else and not change his game plan was pretty naive. The fact being being in the "heat" with Izzy isn't the same as others and Sean knew that he was never gonna get clean KO'd by standing right in front of Izzy and not lunging in carelessly.
Perfectly & simply put, thank you🔥. A succinct, technical & accurate take on the fight from what seems like an actual fight fan (or fighter). Izzy is in the top 10 oat imo but in this fight Strickland never went first forcing Izzy to, which allowed for him to counter with powerful shots. He fearlessly pressed forward to keep izzy from setting up his jab cuz you can’t jab off your back foot with any power or balance & he def couldn’t move well while backing up to his striking range . Strickland won smartly & impressively . Super unexpected
Sean did give Izzy opening for a counter. Not a lot, but again. Sean did amazing using that Philly Roll, Tai Chi, Samba defensive style that executed and nullified any strikes from Israel. Honestly thought the best chances Izzy had when both were exchanging shots when they were in the pocket at close range. You saw Sean vs Alex that Sean lets his guard down at boxing distance where Alex connected with that KO hook shot. Sean learned from that too. He was a better fighter coming in to this fight compare vs Alex. Ley's just say because of that know down in the first round, everything went well for Sean. Great performance but even better Self Discipline. Great fight to show fighters that patience and self discipline leads to wins as well and sticking to the game plan.
I think Izzy hit a mental block, because if you are being pressure the only to fight is to go balls deep. So he waited to long to take the fight to Sean. Hence why Sean expect Izzy to be in a war with him. Sean wasn’t expecting Izzy to wait. Which is why it was so “easy “ for him to dictate the fight. So I think Izzy waited to long to be aggressive. You have to fight Sean the same way Alex did. The only to put a guy like Sean out is to be the bigger bully. Izzy wasn’t aggressive enough that’s why he lost.
@@tebellomosoeu6117 your comment indicates how clueless you are right away. Both fighter were very hesitant and not much had happened before alex caught him with the big shot then the follow ups, you’re literally just speaking out of your ass expecting nobody to realise. 🤣🤣🤣
Watching the fight back... Strickland didn't too alot offensively... Izzy just didn't get off much... yes Strickland did things defensively really well too. But I think if they run it back.. Izzy has it.
I think Eugene is significantly underestimating what happened in that cage. To say that they had to make more changes for Alex then they will for Sean is crazy.
Then who else izzy should have fought? DDP was injured and Izzy wanted to fight on this card! Sean deserved to fight for the belt even before the Alex P. fight. Plus i dont remember Izzy saying Sean was a easy fight. But man, Congrats to Sean. Hopefully fights DDP!
I’m really glad that he clarified what he meant by Israel having a bad night actually meant that Sean made him look bad 👍🏻He is spot on about Israel facing the music though- it’s getting annoying hearing other people making excuses for him (‘his schedule’) etc. I think the fans would have some respect for him if HE addressed this.
Yeah and it's not the most graceful to say that this is Sean's one chance in his career...think he could be wiser. he and Izzy, just have no concept of how hard Sean works...the non stop sparring and training. Even Poatan made a video tonight saying that Sean has unique fighting skills and that them training together had nothing to do with Sean winning.
Very easy for you to say while sitting home. No one knows who you are, you dont have thousands of people worldwide hating and judging you. If the man needs time, let him take his time.
It’s the opposite. They knew it was gonna be a difficult fight. Eugene even said “not once did I think Sean couldn’t beat Israel.” in the post fight press conference.
Here's a better breakdown Izzy couldn't get the leg kick off early that he usually peppers opponents with because Sean checked them masterfully Sean's defense was also neutralizing izzys offense. Izzy couldn't land and I think it created a bit of anxiety. Sean countered izzys runaway movement by cutting him off and walking him down. This also tired Izzy in the later rounds while Sean's efficient style kept him fresh. Lastly he was counterstriking the counter striker while not getting reckless and falling into traps. I don't think Izzy looked slow, he was tired by the 4th and his confidence was a bit gone after getting rocked in the first. Styles make fights and I think Sean fought a super intelligent fight with masterclass defense What do you guys think?
@@matthieudelarte3914true Jared did this too even though I still think Sean won that fight it’s Alex and him that have put somewhat of a gameplan to stop the pressuring but both that I named also have insane power in their hands were Izzy lacks that
Fair summary. I'd add a couple of points Sean was also disrupting Izzy's combos by hand fighting which messed with Izzy's rhythm. Sean has un unorthodox style of boxing and almost wing Chun which baffles opponents. Sean's relentless pressure meant he was right at his perfect range to land. If ever space was created he would close it again instantly as if it were a vacuum. And because he spars so much he is so comfortable being right in punching range, keeping himself just about safe at dangerously close range. And for an outside fighter, like Izzy, it's stressful having someone like that at such close range the whole time. It wears you out mentally and, like you said, his confidence and self belief started to fade.
Nah he definitely is. They're both just super passive aggressive weirdos. Imagine beng Izzy and Eugene...ones one of the best fighters in the world and the other trains him, and they both have women tendencies when it comes to emotions and socializing.
It’s so funny that haters completely ignore every instance of Israel and Eugene acknowledging that they were beaten fair and square. Israel losing isn’t enough for them because he won way too many times before 😂
Not even that got dominated all 5 rds like he had 0 answers if anything Sterling deserves a rematch more because his loss could’ve been more “flukey” where ass Izzy got dog walked like a bitch
Izzy is 13-3 in his last 16 fights, with 5 title defenses. He will get his rematch when he’s ready. That’s what happens when you make a lot of money for the UFC 🤷🏼
So why do we just go off the last 3 fights? McGregor was 1-2 in his last 3 fights and NOBODY said he shouldn’t get an immediate rematch against Dustin.
@@N54htmare The real reason people don’t want Israel to get the rematch has nothing to do with the last 3 fights, that’s an arbitrary standard to make. The reason is they want to stop opportunity for him to go again with Sean, which I don’t understand considering how first fight went anyway. I think the whole idea is that Sean fights Dricus who then beats him, so that way Izzy suffers twice. Then Dricus hopefully beats Izzy. this appears to be dream script at the moment.
In general he responds well to losses. You can see this time he was genuinely embarrassed and failed to respond well at all though, so that’s no longer true. This is his first embarrassing loss
Sean won everything...interviews..pressers...even the stare down didn't go as Izzy wanted..I saw Izzy uncomfortable whole week...he wasn't himself...and when the fight started it was still there...Izzy was shocked about the support Sean had in Australia..online...Izzy got beat in every single way... everything
Eugene is smart. If Dana offers a rematch, you take it. Because you don’t know what will happen in the next few fights at MW. It also helps that Izzy is arguably the biggest active star in the UFC at the moment.
So basically Eugene's only argument for deserving a rematch is, "but but but....Izzy is famous!" Rematch is a joke and not warranted after Izzy is 1-2 in his last 3. He needs to fight Khamzat vs Costa winner then if he wins that he gets a title shot.
I think he might have a better idea than you? have you ever though of the humility to consider a world champion fighter might understand it a little better than you?
@@badm.d I see what you're saying -- Eugene is an insider with lots of knowledge of the field -- but end of the day, the only reason he actually came out with was "well, Adesanya is a big star". OP's point is valid.
They will give him a rematch yes one because he is the draw in the division but also two you don't want to set a precedent of punishing active champions. That is what the fans want.
Imagine saying Dricus has been sitting on the sidelines injured doing nothing when he dominated Whittaker and finished him as far back as *checks notes* 2 months and 3 days ago
Eugene speaking for Izzy speaks of a possible larger problem of Izzy being babied a bit too much at this stage. He has gotten too comfortable at the top. And of course this loss negatively affects his legacy. He is 2-2 in his last four fights. Not exactly the dominant MW champ he once was and he is still in his prime. It’s not good
Love the clueless takes they are coming thick and thin. Are you even aware most fighters after losses don't even show to the post fight presser. They no show and don't have anyone filling in for them. Izzy still showed, and for the only time in his career made it brief and handed it to someone else. Prior to that moment yesterday his whole UFC career he's been a media machine. And lmao cherry pick the last 4 fights. The level of non intelligence to speculate Izzy can't do a comeback when he just pulled off one of the all tiem comebacks? You can't make up how braindead your takes are.
I'm happy sean won but nobody was treating izzy like a baby. He's been fighting the hardest possible fight for years . He fought the most unlike scared khabib. Dana even signed izzy rival and fast tracked him to the fight.

So he says he hates coaches that make excuses and talk about injuries but then proceeds to omit and say that the people he trusts the most said Izzy was off... well that sounds just like an excuse
@@alanross2482 let’s be honest, Izzy wasn’t ready for what Sean had for him. After that knockdown in the 1st it was a wrap, Sean bullied him the rest of the fight. and from what I could see, he really took Izzy’s SOUL in a different way than we’ve ever seen before. With the pereira fights he at least put up a good performance but just lost each time. In this case he got BULLIED for 25 minutes. And I believe what happened is simple - he wasn’t mentally ready for that type of masterclass by Sean, and couldn’t recover. At the end the man was literally running for his life. Most embarrassing Adesanya display of all time. at least give it all you got in the 5th round - you know you are down. So I’d say mentally, Izzy wasn’t even thinking of this as a real possibility. And now he’s paid the price, well done to Strickland.
@@TheMRMACHONACHO He also implied that Sean's reign will be over come the rematch indicating this win was a fluke which it most certainly wasn't. Israel got fucking dominated.
Congrats To The Champ Sean Strickland on an incredible performance and victory. Salute To Sensei Eugene Bareman for showing respect to Sean and his team. Keep your head up Izzy, you just need to shore up a couple of things, 👊🏾🇳🇬🇺🇸
I think he needs to be a little more understanding Izzy is 4-3 in his last 7. Something is off so taking 7-9 months off and Fighting someone Izzy has beaten like Robert or Paulo is a fight Izzy needs to take to build confidence.
Exposes the lack of skill in the MW division, wish the UFC would focus on the Craft of fighting rather then the amount of money a fighter can pull, give us the sport back, I'm tired of watching a soapie
@@Michelbouf genuinely true elite fighters find ways to change their gameplan on the fly and win (Volkanovski against Max in their second fight will always be the best example of this despite the popular narrative saying Max was robbed)
God you types are ridiculous. Eugene even said an “off night” means “the other person made us look bad” He’s given Sean full credit many times and you’re too dumb to see it
Strickland had all of the excuses not Izzy. He took the fight short notice, passport issues, everyone counted him out, first ever title fight jitters, fighting in the champs home town, jet lagged etc.etc.etc. Izzy didn't even stay in the octagon post fight to speak to his home town aussy crowd! Every time a champ loses their belt and doesn't get KO'd they always talk to them last so they can address their fans, talk about the loss, what's next etc. And they do that even in a different city or country whereas this was in Australia! Izzy just stormed out of the octagon and couldn't be bothered. Then he didn't even do the post fight press conference which every other loosing champion ALWAYS does! It was pathetic and disgraceful! And NOONE is talking about this! Izzy literally lost 2 out of his last 3 fights and before that went the distance with Jared, Robert, Marvin, and lost to Jan in the previous 4 fights before that! How the F do people think he's a dominant champ or even compares to Anderson Silva? Seriously! I have no idea how he got this reputation. And I didn't even mention the Joel Romero fight if you can even call it that. Strickland's knockdown in the first round 100% made Izzy respect his power which made him hesitant, gun shy and doubt himself for the rest of the fight. THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED! It wasn't an off night for Izzy! Strickland was just that good! And Izzy 100% underestimated him. I've never seen Izzy more confident in a fight week, in interviews and even during the walk out in my life!
New Zealand is his hometown, not Australia...that was a mistake I think izzy made, Australian don't like him, they shouldn't, he beat their champion to become the champion...fuck it, long talk#
Even if izzy gets the rematch, if he wins, they should have to do the trilogy. Just wouldn't be fair if not. After the way Sean walked him down nonstop, never broke a sweat, and not a scratch on him, he'd deserve a trilogy if izzy wins rematch
Adesanya doesn't deserve another immediate rematch to be honest. It's not like he was winning the fight like the Pereira fight and it's not like he was on a streak of title defenses.
Sean has studied Izzy, he said Izzy is primarily a kicker and don’t really throw punches earlier this week, his team and Alex Perieirá helped Sean sharpen his boxing and what we saw is Izzy is amazing with space but at boxing range he breaks. Sean’s boxing is very clean the way he defends, pepper opponents with small punches, and only go for the finish when the opportunity is there. I thought Izzy was going to win but on god I told my brother Let’s go Sean he is the people’s champ

Izzy is a bag of money these guys all know exactly what they are doing .. they just want to mk money with this .. Izzy is money the rematch money now look massive
*First, let me qualify this comment by letting everyone know that I am not a fan of fighters. I am a fan of interesting fights, regardless of whomever is fighting.* I can't think of any other UFC belt holder that provides more PPV match money opportunities for the company (3x/year average). That metric alone in terms of company revenue stream, does influence Dana and the UFC to grant allowances to what they consider a great moneymaker for them. It's a business run by business people... unfortunately for those who would rightfully want it to be more of a merit based promotion. But it is, what it is, and I've long ago given up feeling disappointed with the UFC's management, and wasting energy whinging, and complaining about being unfair... I just continue to watch, and hope to see interesting fights.
If Aljo doesn't get a rematch, I see no reason for Izzy to get one being negative in his last 5 fights and losing 49-46 being dominated from pillar to post 4 of 5 rounds. I don't see it folks. The era of the men named Sean might be short-lived, but I'm here for it. As for Izzy, let's see him take on the winner of Chimaev and Costa while Sean gives Dracus the title shot he earned by mogging The Reaper. A task Izzy didn't come close to doing in such dominant fashion himself.
Izzy is the biggest active star in the UFC. Aljo was an “accidental” champion and wasn’t making money for the UFC. That’s why Izzy is getting a rematch and Aljo isn’t.
I like Eugene. I never really heard him speak much before, but I really like that he isn't making excuses and he's giving the credit where it belongs, to Sean Strickland! My hats off to Eugene Bareman!
I don't like him at all. He's criticizing DDP for pulling out a fight due to injuries but the moment his fighter does it KKF all of a sudden it's okay. He's a slime ball. A clown.
Bro what? Lol izzy and him are the biggest hypocrites. Shane Young missed weight by 4 pounds where was that speech about taking away 90% of a fighters purse that izzy and Eugene went on and on about. Izzy wouldve taunted sean like crazy if he won and went on a cringe rant did the post fight interview. He loses then begs sean not to talk about his dead dog and avoids the post fight press conference. Volk is the only good thing from that camp
Their fight was a direct reflection of they press conferences. Strickland relentlessly pushing Adesanya, making him severely uncomfortable and without anything to respond back with. Pure domination.
He got broken. The end. Fight Iq non existent for a plan b. Sean wasn’t scared of israel and deflected everything with pressure He Got Dog walked. Israel just ran and was broken. Doesn’t deserve a rematch
I think he might have a better idea than you? have you ever though of the humility to consider a world champion fighter might understand it a little better than you?
This loss does indeed affect Izzy's legacy. He might've been in the discussion for greatest Middleweight of all time up until now, but he's at best a distant second now. Furthermore, an instant rematch is completely nonsensical. Izzy's 2-3 in his last few, and he hasn't defended the title once since regaining it. This was not some fluke victory or controversial finish. This was a one-sided decision loss that could have gone no other way. A 10-8 first round could even be argued. Back in line to fight a contender.
I mean to deal effectively with something difficult is a highly understandable skill to possess rather than not have the tools to ameliorate the situation and temper it. Lol
They are trying to drown out the obvious reality that Izzy's career, social capital, and mental health are a flaming dumpster fire. His legacy is trashed and his ego won't be able to handle having the reputation of a degenerate animal abuser.
The story of this fight...and it wasn't spectacular or obvious...was Strickland's defence. He anticipated nearly all of the kicks coming and foiled them...especially Izzy's nasty calf kicks. And Izzy couldn't land a clean shot on him up top. So that enabled him to get close enough to hit Izzy.
It really is an ideal stance to deal with Izzy's kicking game. Standing tall and square allows him to effortlessly step away or check the low kicks. Elbows low to block or catch the body kicks. Relentless pressure into boxing range stifled the head kicks. Reaching out often blocked the punches before they even got close and the rest he rolled off his shoulder.
Yeah but if you watch Sean vs Alex fight. Sean keeps his guard down when you are in a close pocket space. That's where Alex landed that hook shot that KO Strickland. I would also like to see people hit and do damage on Sean mid section where he least protects it. He uses high knees, lifts his leg for calf kicks and uses the Philly roll for head and upper body protection. A clean kick tot he mid section softens him up with multiple hits.
Izzy looked slow cause Sean was hitting were he was moving to. Not where he was like everyone else. Sean been training with Alex. You notice how Sean didn’t get leg kicked but was doing the leg kicking.
He checked some but the leg kicks were ineefective because of the pressure Sean was putting on Israel. He constantly put Israel on the backdoor therefore he couldn't plant his feet and put heat on the leg kicks.
Haha so much love for Eugene the guy is so wise and so respectful. Well done on another awesome interview boys. The coverage for UFC Sydney 293 was AMAZING!
you must havenot seen eugene criticized dricus as "not a champion mindset" for pulling out due to injuries, but he pulled kai kara france out of the fight citing injuries.
Izzy literally lost 2 out of his last 3 fights and before that went the distance with Jared, Robert, Marvin, and lost to Jan in the previous 4 fights before that! NO REMATCH! How the F do people think he's a dominant champ or even compares to Anderson Silva? Seriously! I have no idea how he got this reputation. And I didn't even mention the Joel Romero fight if you can even call it that.
Dana’s hype train. The most visible person upset by Sean’s fantastic win, was Dana. Sean exposed Izzy by doing just the basics. 1.2 front kick, 1,1,2 front kick. It was beautiful to watch.
In one sentence he talks about the 1% of people that understand this sport and in the next he says he is laughing all the way to the bank when talking about Dreicus not getting the next shot. The people that do understand the sport know how stupid that sounds...
This is the first time Izzy has not wanted to do any media after a loss just shows how good the performance was from Sean that Izzy himself can't face it right now
What a guy. He made no excuses for Izzy and gave all props to Sean for winning. Really great interview, I wish more people could watch this whole thing.
They are making all the excuses under the sun. Izzy has lost 3 times in recent memory (Jan, Perreira, Strickland) and he carries himself like he's the fucking GOAT. Joke of a man.
You CANNOT say Izzy is good at taking losses anymore. He ran out of the octagon in his home country and didn't do the post conference! It was disgraceful!
Its uncanny how both Rob and Izzy both said their opponents had nothing to lose and everything to gain, and both ended up losing. We are in an alternate timeline hahah
All respect to Eugine great coach and troll. But Izzy needs to earn a rematch 1-2 outta last 3 fights and getting dominated for 5 rounds not even able to land a shot on DeShawn does not constitue an immediate rematch fans don't want it. Go flight Du Plessesis for the title shot
Bro, Israel has been a dominant champion in the Middle weight division for almost 5 years. Yeah, he's lost 2 out of his last 3, but he's also won 24 of his last 27 MMA fights. What do you know about earning anything? If he wants the rematch, he gets the rematch.
You can be 1 win in your last 3 fights and get 2 rematches in between losses. Thats outrageous especially taking into account that you got absolutely demolished by sean . Adesanya came in so confident, get destroyed and ran from media. Now his team is pushing a remarch . Are we going to give adesanya a rematch after every loss? If aljo doesnt get a rematch. Adesanya shouldnt
Izzy doesn’t deserve an immediate rematch. He lost the belt again one fight after getting it back, no follow up defenses and the fight wasn’t competitive. Sean vs DPP next. Izzy needs a break and the division needs to evolve.
“They say Izzy looked off”, who’s they? I’ve never heard anyone saying it besides Izzy’s reporter friends and Dana in order to appeal for a rematch. Izzy looked identical to every fight he’s had, if anything Sean had the harder camp. Props for Eugene not entertaining the idea.
Sean just shut Izzy down completely. Izzy looked good, he looked normal, Sean just dominated him. It's crazy how baffled everyone is that "oohh, there's something mysteriously wrong with Izzy.."... No. You underestimated Sean, didn't realize he was a horrible stylistic matchup, and got completely shut down and beat.
Yep agree. No answer for someone who walks you down, doesn’t bite on your feints and makes you miss a lot. If he had wrestling he could’ve shot, but he doesn’t.
@@TheTMS726 My thoughts exactly. Tall, square stance to help check the kicks. The modified philly shell to deal with the punches, along with constant sparring to avoid biting on feints. The one weakness is vulnerability to a takedown, where every man (and his dog) expect Sean to have the advantage.
Izzy should thank Eugene for losing too, Eric nicksick out coached him. He had energy, he had his guy ready while Eugene askin if Izzy if he is okay lol. Your boy got whooped fair and square. @@badm.dwhy do you keep writing the same comment whenever someone has a contrary opinion? Their team isn't infallible as demonstrated by the defeat and people can voice their opinions. In this case you don't have to be an expert to see that Izzy was outclassed for five rounds. I hope they do the immediate rematch just so that this guy loses again and fades out of the sport.
I think Israel could speak perfectly for himself, but Eugene knows it's not smart for him to start talking about a rematch after being completely dominated by D’Sean, so he does it for him.
Eugene is such a bitter man, he thinks he can still call the shots for who fights for the belt still even after theyve lost it and has joy at the fact that he thinks he could be depriving ddp of his deserving title shot since he is the number 1 contender.

he was talking specifically about a title shot. he was saying you don't pull out of a title fight cause you might not get another shot at the title. Kai wasn't fighting for the title. also hard to not pull out of a fight if you have a concussion considering the UFC won't let you fight if you have a concussion.
I think it's time for Izzy to add M to his MA. Not that it would've changed the result of the fight, but mixing in takedowns would open up his striking a whole lot more. I'd be surprised if he didn't do well with it since he's HUGE for a middleweight.
Many of you in this comment section still haven't learned. Stylebender haters? Enjoy. All flowers to Sean. They said he'd never go up in the ranks when he joined GLORY KICKBOXING, too. Remember? Izzy smoked everyone in King In The Ring, and won the whole thing. And when the haters howled he got lucky? He did it AGAIN. Izzy then rise to challenge Wilnis for the GLORY MW title, and lost a controversial match. Then Izzy chose. Twice. To face the fierce and mighty Pereira in their rematch. It was Izzy who called for DDP and then Sean. Izzy didn't have to match anyone for the rest of this year, so he deserves flowers from you haters for even giving your man a chance at the belt at all. Izzy could have taken his much deserved rest, or given the shot to Robert Whitaker, who is a bigger draw than Sean. You haters do not learn. Izzy will take a much needed rest and break. You gotta tip your hat to Izzy, Usman, and Volk these dudes are more activate than just about anyone in the UFC while being Champs. The ufc literally had to go out and find new competition for Izzy cause he cleared out the division. Sometimes it’s not your night or maybe its time for his decline but Izzy will probably be back beginning of next year with a W
That is literally the only good thing I had to say about izzy. He is very active. When I started to not be a fan was when he lost the first fight to Alex. Making excuses . Now he pulls this run from my press conference shit. Guy is lame as fuck. Man up and face the music . Like his own coach says. He doesn't even look happy to be having to answers all izzys stupid questions for him..
Its one of those uncomfortable matchup's. I think the next fight might go the same way - unless Sean has a bad performance. Izzy doesn't have that power and isnt physically big enough to put Sean's lights out, when his defensive mastery is so high. Point fighting will work on a fighter moving backward, but not on Sean who keeps coming forward and putting Izzy on the back foot. Izzy cant really wrestle and his Jujutsu isnt his main game - whereas Du Plesis is strong enough, and heavy enough to wrestle Sean down easily and submit him, so is Khamzat probably. If Sean and Izzy both do the same thing again - its the same exact result. Gotta love this game thats why its called Mixed MA and not Kickboxing.
And neo zazis all across the world couldn't be happier about it 😂😂 izzy got beat up by a neo-nazi... after he embarrassed him thru the week... sad as hell for any fan of Adesanya including myself
This dude deserves more credit. He’s been as professional as you can be while dealing with Izzy’s drama. He’s showing that the team is not Izzy, and the team will continue to be professional and successful with or without Izzy. Protect Eugene.
Izzy looked hesitant compared to previous fights, Sean defence was the biggest factor and he wasn't afraid of Izzy at all, pressing him the whole match and taking every chance to counter with heavy hands.
Izzy got beat tf out of. But Izzy and his coach will make excuses for it. It’s bull. Sean is a nightmare matchup for Izzy. It was a boxing match basically. Sean kept him at range with a teep. Izzy isn’t a boxer. He’s a counter striker. Sean is a very high level boxer and kicked his ass
I think he might have a better idea than you? have you ever though of the humility to consider a world champion fighter might understand it a little better than you?
“Dricus has been waiting on the sidelines… you have to fight through injuries”… Dricus literally fought 6 weeks before and Kai pulled out against Kape from a concussion….
Sean didnt have a mark on his face. Excellent gameplan and execution. I honestly thought he won all 5 rounds.
i thought izzy only won round 2.....
I had sean winning 4-1
Sean didn't even sit down between rounds
Sean humiliated him during the lead up, Sean took the fans away from Izzy and had them cheering him on... And then absolutely demolishes him at his own game. Stunning performance, honestly it should go down as Performance of the Year. Easily top 5 of all times in my opinion.

He gave the counter puncher no opening to counter. He defended leg kicks and head striked very well. He understood the task and excelled.

Was surreal to watch. Not sure if it was Sean shutting him down or something was wrong with Izzy but it looked like Sean fighting an amateur. Crazy!
Watching the fight back... Strickland didn't too alot offensively... Izzy just didn't get off much... yes Strickland did things defensively really well too.
But I think if they run it back.. Izzy has it.
Philly Shell baby! common in boxing not so much in MMA.
I think Eugene is significantly underestimating what happened in that cage. To say that they had to make more changes for Alex then they will for Sean is crazy.

Sean should of got a 10/8 for round 1. Nobody is talking about.
It’s the opposite. They knew it was gonna be a difficult fight. Eugene even said “not once did I think Sean couldn’t beat Israel.” in the post fight press conference.
It's on Izzy. Eugene said at the presser they didn't have a connection in the corner
as usual, those guys are just excuses here and there, Hooker, Izzy and even Volk.
Did you even watch the video retard?
Maybe they over estimated Israel.
Here's a better breakdown
Izzy couldn't get the leg kick off early that he usually peppers opponents with because Sean checked them masterfully
Sean's defense was also neutralizing izzys offense.
Styles make fights and I think Sean fought a super intelligent fight with masterclass defense
What do you guys think?
Well put
Alex pereira already show the way to beat strickland. Jab to the body , leg kick and left hook
@@matthieudelarte3914true Jared did this too even though I still think Sean won that fight it’s Alex and him that have put somewhat of a gameplan to stop the pressuring but both that I named also have insane power in their hands were Izzy lacks that
Fair summary. I'd add a couple of points
Sean was also disrupting Izzy's combos by hand fighting which messed with Izzy's rhythm.

@@N54htmare The real reason people don’t want Israel to get the rematch has nothing to do with the last 3 fights, that’s an arbitrary standard to make.

@user-qr8fc8ji4hruthless cheeks bro. Ruthless
He could fight with zero fear of a takedown. It changes the game.
The defense was most definitely obvious
Izzy looked slow cause Sean was hitting were he was moving to. Not where he was like everyone else. Sean been training with Alex. You notice how Sean didn’t get leg kicked but was doing the leg kicking.
Sean got leg kicked plenty but he checked most of them because he stands square and tall.
Another RUclips dork not having a clue what he is talking about lmaooo 🤡
He checked some but the leg kicks were ineefective because of the pressure Sean was putting on Israel. He constantly put Israel on the backdoor therefore he couldn't plant his feet and put heat on the leg kicks.
What do you mean? He just 1-2 him all night with teep kicks to set up the 1-2 more. Izzy couldnt do shit, 0 jab defense.
he didnt look slow in his silly walk out dance bs .. all hyped up

a bit sad to see izzy back out, but props to this coach, he's a real teamplayer and was spot on
Haha so much love for Eugene the guy is so wise and so respectful.
You're broke..you've never bought a PPV..Dana doesnt care about your wishes
strop being a hater, Izzy is definitely up there with Silva. Silva was fighting aggressive cans.
Yeah you just a hater. What i dont understand is why you guys follow Izzy to closely if you dislike him?. Weird bruh. Move on

Dana’s hype train. The most visible person upset by Sean’s fantastic win, was Dana. Sean exposed Izzy by doing just the basics. 1.2 front kick, 1,1,2 front kick. It was beautiful to watch.
Sean whipped the dogbenders ass!💪👊
Why your race's chicks smell like wet dogs
He dog walked him 😂
In one sentence he talks about the 1% of people that understand this sport and in the next he says he is laughing all the way to the bank when talking about Dreicus not getting the next shot. The people that do understand the sport know how stupid that sounds...
Stfuuuuuuuuuuuuu you know absolutely nothing
Eugene is afraid of DDP big time.
This is the first time Izzy has not wanted to do any media after a loss just shows how good the performance was from Sean that Izzy himself can't face it right now
What a guy. He made no excuses for Izzy and gave all props to Sean for winning. Really great interview, I wish more people could watch this whole thing.
We must have watched different videos
They are making all the excuses under the sun. Izzy has lost 3 times in recent memory (Jan, Perreira, Strickland) and he carries himself like he's the fucking GOAT. Joke of a man.
Wtf did you watch 😆
Strickland used an IV- Dan Hooker
You CANNOT say Izzy is good at taking losses anymore. He ran out of the octagon in his home country and didn't do the post conference! It was disgraceful!
I thought his home country was China
Hes not from Australia you numbskull
Home country
He's NOT Australian. Aussies don't like him after the whittaker stuff 😅
He's from New Zealand, different place.
Eugene is a nutcase, talking shiz about DPP meanwhile Kai is sitting on the sideline with an injury lol hes a joker
Dan hooker also pulled out 1st time against jalin turner😂
@@berlin4103 Lol so blatant isn't it
Its uncanny how both Rob and Izzy both said their opponents had nothing to lose and everything to gain, and both ended up losing. We are in an alternate timeline hahah
They should fight each other.
In the alternate universe Du Plessis and Strickland would have caught hands🤣
I’m shocked that he walked him down with that awkward stance .
Correcto. I like these guys and their content but they don’t ask any real questions. No mma reporter does
Bro, Israel has been a dominant champion in the Middle weight division for almost 5 years.
Why you not talking bout Dana pushing the rematch?
Lol why would there be a rematch
Izzy picked a guy who wasn't in a conversation for the title shot. He thought it would be easy money but damn,he was rattled by Sean.
Good to see Ugene having a laugh at this !!! Thats the humbleness coming out a bit
I wonder if Israel still thinks he walks through Jon Jones when he can’t even beat Sean Strickland? 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Yeah. Izzy shouldn’t have won the Pereira rematch also, until he did in spectacular fashion.
Izzy doesn’t deserve an immediate rematch. He lost the belt again one fight after getting it back, no follow up defenses and the fight wasn’t competitive. Sean vs DPP next. Izzy needs a break and the division needs to evolve.
Casulas repeating dumb takes....
@badm.d Casuals are the ones who think Jizzy deserves a rematch
@@badm.d Other way around dumbass, and you aren’t cool for using words like “casulas”
Made it look easy. Even with the short notice and fighting in Izzy's side of the world.
There’s other coaches Eugene talks to like his old Coach Master Lolo and few others for other perspectives. That’s who They is
Sean just shut Izzy down completely.
Bingo.
Yep agree. No answer for someone who walks you down, doesn’t bite on your feints and makes you miss a lot. If he had wrestling he could’ve shot, but he doesn’t.
100%
@@TheTMS726 My thoughts exactly. Tall, square stance to help check the kicks. The modified philly shell to deal with the punches, along with constant sparring to avoid biting on feints. The one weakness is vulnerability to a takedown, where every man (and his dog) expect Sean to have the advantage.
@@entonbray yeh exactly
Izzy should thank Eugene for losing too, Eric nicksick out coached him. He had energy, he had his guy ready while Eugene askin if Izzy if he is okay lol. Your boy got whooped fair and square. He doesn’t deserve a rematch just like Charles Olivera had to fight a killer to get back to a title picture stop giving ppl preferential treatment cause of instagram followers. This was a masterclass by Strickland stop making excuses and making it look like a fluke, Strickland thought he was fighting an amateur and he didn’t even grapple come on boys

As much as i like izzy, he doesnt deserve an immediate rematch if only just to keep the Division exciting again.
Money is what makes UFC go around, so he will get it.
In terms of excitement, it’s best if he doesn’t. But he will
Thanks for the honesty coach. The best for you in the future.
Incredible that they're still underestimating Sean.
he said "pereira we couldn't have done the rematch in a week but sean we could"
CKB needs to join the rest of us down here on planet earth
Eugene talking about how the rematch will set things straight LOL, Israel got schooled from start to finish and I honestly think next time it could be worse, but sure whatever if you want the clearly undeserved rematch so be it, will only be worse once he goes 0-2 to Strickland.
The bias is crazy

@@badm.dwhy do you keep writing the same comment whenever someone has a contrary opinion? Their team isn't infallible as demonstrated by the defeat and people can voice their opinions. In this case you don't have to be an expert to see that Izzy was outclassed for five rounds. No excuses can be made for Izzy give Sean Strickland his well deserved and earned flowers.
Thanks for the interview! I only wish you had asked him about Kai Kara’s injury & why was it different from Dricus injury. I wish he addressed that.
Yeah, I wanna know that too. 😊
Its been addressed allready?? He had concussion, bit more serious than youre average injury and also Kai wasnt fighting for a title.. lmao time to find something else to cry about
@@kahutara818
I see. So he said his fighter can pull out but Dricus can’t because his fighter is more seriously injured? Lol never saw that 🤣!
Nice to know that any fighter with broken foot, infection, knee injury, etc, shouldn’t pull out because they all are not serious… essentially all fighters should be TJ Dillashaw 👌🏻
he was talking specifically about a title shot. he was saying you don't pull out of a title fight cause you might not get another shot at the title. Kai wasn't fighting for the title. also hard to not pull out of a fight if you have a concussion considering the UFC won't let you fight if you have a concussion.
@@kahutara818 nah he's found a legitimate thing to cry about. Baremans a hypocrite
I think it's time for Izzy to add M to his MA. Not that it would've changed the result of the fight, but mixing in takedowns would open up his striking a whole lot more. I'd be surprised if he didn't do well with it since he's HUGE for a middleweight.
"Not taking anything from Strickland" then proceeds to say he is most unlikely champ

Many of you in this comment section still haven't learned. Stylebender haters? Enjoy. All flowers to Sean. Izzy...pure class...raised Sean's arm and encouraged the crowd to clap for Sean after the decision for Sean was announced. If you haters were real men? You'd applaud Izzy for that.
But remember when y'all dissed Izzy after Pereira? For those of us who remember...the haters were clownin Izzy on King In The Ring, too.
He's going through the most in his personal life and his relentless UFC match scheduling. He'll return. Refreshed, recharged, refocused, and Stylebend all over Sean.
Calling it here and now: don't be surprised if Izzy brings back his clinch game, and even work takedowns from his Clinch. He'll snare Sean with The Clinch, stop, redirect, spin, flurry, and re-establish the distance between them...and mix that with relentlessly aggressive MT Clinch with elbows, knees, redirections, off balances, trips, dirty boxing, the works.

Sometimes it’s not your night or maybe its time for his decline but Izzy will probably be back beginning of next year with a W
That is literally the only good thing I had to say about izzy. He is very active. When I started to not be a fan was when he lost the first fight to Alex. Making excuses . If Izzy won the rematch believe me he would say no rematch.
Izzy is now 1-2 in his last three fights. How could that not affect his legacy? of course it does
I was sure Izzy ( Purple Belt) was Gunna Submit DeSean ( Black Belt) , The Champion has a Name and it is DeSean
And neo zazis all across the world couldn't be happier about it 😂😂 izzy got beat up by a neo-nazi... after he embarrassed him thru the week... sad as hell for any fan of Adesanya including myself
Its crazy to think that the rematch with Izzy might be Sean's easiest fight at MW.
This dude deserves more credit. He’s been as professional as you can be while dealing with Izzy’s drama. He’s showing that the team is not Izzy, and the team will continue to be professional and successful with or without Izzy. Protect Eugene.
