This is Woolie VS The Algorithm, a new RUclips Channel where you'll find all of the best and funniest moments from WoolieVersus. The highlight videos released here will have tight editing and enhancements of the hypest moments to create an even more fun experience, as well as gateway into checking out the full length WoolieVersus content.
Together with his friend Reggie, they have played numerious games on the channel ranging from genres like RPG, JRPG, Fighting Games, and FPS. Games like Elden Ring (open world Dark Souls game), Mass Effect (Legendary Edition), Final Fantasy 6 (Pixel Remaster) and Disco Elysium (Disco Elysium Final Cut). Woolie hosts Get Into Fighting Games, which is a series that introduces new and old fighting games like Guilty Gear Strive (GG Strive) and Skullgirls. Clips from the podcast Castle Super Beast which he records with PatStaresAt are also hosted on the WoolieVersus channel. Woolie has collaborated with other content creators like Super Eyepatch Wolf and LittleVmills. Some of his most popular videos are his lore videos on Gulity Gear (GUILTY GEAR LORE: Heaven or Hell) and Kirby (Kirby Lore: Star Allies, Dark Matter Trilogy and Morpho).

I admit I was confused early in the video, I only saw Woolie say he needed to use the bathroom only for him to come back and make a big deal out of his wife.... watching. I was confused about what the BBC meant until it got explained. Not sure if that was intended as part of the joke or not, lol.

@@EbonMaster Woolie technically has done both. I’m not really going to get much out of guilty gear lore, but I do wish the Kirby lore video he did hadn’t been a one and done. Pat is weird as I think I enjoy him more for the react stuff, as the best part of his videos are always him and Paige having in the most polite of terms, a conversation. I don’t mind video game stuff and know it gives him more material for the podcast, but without Paige and pat together I don’t think I’d have any active interest in either of their streams
@@gameb9oy Yeah I think they paid him for the GG lore one so I dont fault him for that but I do wish he would have continued the Kirby lore stuff. he could be a go-to source for that if he keeps it up. Side note: it was also SUPER weird to me that he didnt play through the new Kirby game on the channel. That seemed like a given.

I've put a lot of thought into WHY this type of content is so appealing. And I've reached two conclusions: 1. It's the easiest to get into, no pre-requisite, it's the most basic bitch, vanilla, nothing content, it's filler; 2. I think people get the same feeling of showing a cool video to a friend when these types of streams happen.
Yeah. Big part of that (2nd point) is that modern adulthood has left a big gap in our lives of communal entertainment. We no longer can just drag a friend home after school/bug our sibling down the hall to just watch something dumb in the den. We can't easily show someone something any more, and recommendations are hardly the same (and rarely followed up on). This really feels like it's 80% the way there of filling that need and it feels comforting.
I’d add a part 3 to this. Both pat and Woolie are weirdly cut off from a lot of pop culture things that happened after their childhoods, so it’s interesting seeing how someone so out of the loop reacts to some of the videos
It's not like both Pat and Woolie haven't done any reaction content in the past. Remember the DMC 5 revealed and how awesome their reaction were? That's what viewers enjoy. People like seeing others react to stuff they like or dislike, it's entertaining.
It feels good to see someone enjoy something you also like, watching someone experience something you enjoy for the first time and also enjoying it, (or having the same response to it you did or do), so I could easily see why react content blew up the way it did

Alright that didn't go quite where I expected based on the title.
The jump cut after going to the bathroom made me think this was initially a VERY bizarre upload about the other kind of BBC.
This really isn't surprising to me. Watching someone play video games is pretty niche, even if it has become weirdly popular in its way. This may be lower effort I guess, but it doesn't require you to have a previous interest in something as a prerequisite. It's all random so even if you're not interested in something you might like the next thing, or maybe just the mystery of what's going to be shown is fun as well. Not to even mention how much accepting things sent in by fans has a huge impact in how invested they are to see if their thing made it in.
