First of all thank you for sharing this full version!!! secondly when Ian said that he was worried about creating monster and being dark, I found myself feeling pulled to him and his art because of that, from my p.o.v, it’s because he shows his shadows instead of hiding them, it feels so honest and raw and vulnerable, in the world where people want to wear a mask and looks like angels, his ‘monsters’ feels so authentic to me and I truly appreciate it, it reminds me to also meet my shadow, and once I met mine, I could love her, embrace her and heal her, and I hope Ian or anyone in the world who experiences mental health problems could find their healing too..
This whole interview feels like Joel was taking Ian under his wing and reassuring him and encouraging him. It's kind of endearing honestly. Ian/Chris is such a fascinating person I feel like everyone that interviews him ends up being a fan too lol
Thank you so much for uploading the full version! I'm so glad Christian decided to do what he wanted & not give in to the pressures of fitting in. Even though he was so good & talented while in C-Clown compared to most K-pop groups out there now, he's able to express his art in a much broader range now without any restrictions. ❤
Ian 💓💓💓 27:46 > beautiful point made by Joel... seeing Ians' journey inspires ours....can give us the strength to go for our dreams...education, business, health etc x
Thank you so much for uploading! I really appreciate Joel giving praises to Christian, kinda felt like he's voicing dreamers's praises towards him. Also like how he also gave tidbits and wisdom about life, it kinda make me think of mine as well. Overall a great talk to listen. But forreal I always love podcast/talk contents from Ian, and also DPR in general. I just hope for the best for DPR crew in both career and life... :'3
Really appreciate the discussion about callings and success, especially in how it wasn't discussed as being start to finish and that's it and even more so that neither was completely sensationaled in particular. Super awesome to hear you two talk and I'm glad it got to happen. Thanks for having him and giving us something else to enjoy. It was an interesting watch.
Wooow! it is very inspiring that you guys shared so many personal moments and experiences as you are in this industry for long time already and this just help us to remember that you are not just artist, you are like anyone else and have dreams and have to work so hard to be where you are right now! I've been following both carrers for several years, and this interview was a kind of magic moment to have you both guys talking on that way. Oh boy! You made me feel happy & proud! Thanks for that ❤
Lovely interview but I'm surprised that Ian didn't mention his DID in this interview, especially when the topic of childhood trauma came up... He mentioned only his bipolar as he'd done before opening up about his DID quite a while ago... While Joel seems to make people comfortable, I felt that Ian didn't seem all too comfortable enough to open up more about his experience and the very tight link between the characters in his MVs/music lore and his alters, besides being the personification of his manic highs and lows... He hasn't mentioned that too much in interviews, I guess he's not yet comfortable enough to talk about it with interviewers he doesn't know too much... It still surprised me though, that these topics came up during such a long and "intimate" interview but he didn't mention that... Just a thought
I didn't know that he had confirmed DID specifically, just that the character "Ian" could have it within the lore while the artist, Chris, only had bipolar and based the universe and alters on that. So, to me (until now), "Ian" had DID not Chris. Could you send me the link where you saw it? Now I'm curious to know.
@eliguedes1132 He's talked about his DID on several videos, interviews and Insta live. It's fascinating, you should search as he's made different points about it throughout the last few years. He only came out with it recently and used to only talk about bipolar or call his alters "characters" or representations of his manic episodes but has had DID for over 10 years and actually switches to Mito with black outs and a different identity. I'm not sure which to recommend as I've seen many but I'm sure some have compiled or posted them with the right caption on DID for you to find it. One IG live has him talking about it while in heavy medication to manage a dipping episode, it's fascinating and heartbreaking...
Honestly, I think Joel spoke too much. There wasn’t that much back and forth and it felt like he was just trying to get across his pov and thoughts more than anything. It doesn’t feel like he did any research on DPR Ian beyond watching a few music videos. I’ve seen Christian speak about his DID on insta lives. I’ve not seen anywhere that’s it’s part of the Ian character.
@@leigh0606 Agreed, Joel spoke majority of the time and didn't seem to leave much room for Ian to open up... I get that he wanted to relate to him and share similar experiences or tastes but... Ian has been super open about these topics on many other interviews and lives indeed, and barely did small talk in this one while Joel opened up a lot... It felt like a reverse interview of Joel and not Ian...

I feel like he and Jackson Wang are on both on this similar path....and they are *both* creative genuises.🖤
Thank you for the full version 🖤🖤

아니.. 이번은 어떻게 이안을 만난거지..? ( 호스트가 누군지 모름)
두분 화법 진짜 재미있네 에코처럼 단어를 촘촘히 서로 붙여주는게..
