ive used the essie gel like top coat before and i always found it to look really pretty and last as expected for a drug store nail polish, but the down side was that the bottle would thicken up and get stringy after maybe a month or two of having it. so to anyone out there thinking about getting that one just keep that in mind :). thank you for reviewing these top coats
Honestly, your pinky usually holds up the best when it comes to manicures. This isn't a fair test. I do agree with the essie because it's what I'm using now, but my pinky fingers look just like yours, perfect after 6 days, so I can only assume it's the finger. Maybe test them all again on your pointer fingers, those always go first for me lol.
I'm on my 4th bottle of Essie Gel+ Setter. They use to have a white top cap use like regular Essie polishes, but changed to this glass/chrome looking top cap in the recent year or so i think. It was a life-changing find when i first got it in a drug store and putted it on. No obvious shrinkage, the shine in the first couple of days is just amazing and really gel like, standup to a lot of everyday chores, and i keep my nails about the same length like you so there is a bit of front tip wear after the first week, but I don't mind that at all (i change my polish about every 2 wks). I wonder the fact Seche Vive was on the pinky finger had anything to do with it having the best result. Just that i find i use my index fingers in everyday life a lot more often than using my pinkys, haha. Have you tried the same base+color(x2)+ Seche top combo on all fingers?
THANK YOU! I would do another with just best ones and reverse the fingers too. The pinky fingers kinda does less work than the pointer and forefingers ( although they are all important!)
I only use seche vive. Its my favorite and lasts the longest. Plus you can literally peel it off when you want to without messing up your natural nail.
Deborah Lippman Addicted to Speed is by far the BEST top coat on the market... It's not called 'gel like' but it is and it dries your entire manicure in about three minutes. The BEST I've ever found and I've tried everything!
The Sally hansen gel top coat doesnt work well for me either. It doesnt last long and it seems that everytime Ive used it, my nails broke easier than normal. Maybe it just doesnt work with my body chemistry lol.
Just started to get into manicure and i was looking for a review on the seche gel top coat and i found your video! Super informative and a video done well! Totally gonna subscribed and can't wait for more of your videos !
🤦 how are you gonna use different product on different nails, it's like saying you're going to put those protective covers on the stove burners so they won't get dirty but you don't use all burners the same some people only use one more often than others, I usually like the front right burner lol
There's a strong confounding factor here. All fingers are used differently.
Exactly
Also, is this the dominant hand?? Sadly, not a good enough test.
Fair

Your pinky did not ship because you don't use it as much as your index finger
Jo Daviel I completely agree, but it's a good video none the less

I notice the same every time that the index finger paint chips the fastest and pinky one looks the best till the end. So ya not a fair comparison.
I agree. To keep the test with consistency, it should be done on the same finger, preferably middle finger.
Facts!!! I was just commenting about this too! :)
Next time do the same top coat on the other hand, but reverse the order, so you see the wear on your most used nails versus least used!

Finally a video shows when applied on nails, thank you!
I just ordered the huge 4oz +.5oz bottle from Ebay for $15 bucks a true steal of a deal! This video made me happy that I picked Seche vive!!
I only use seche vive. Its my favorite and lasts the longest. Plus you can literally peel it off when you want to without messing up your natural nail.
This was such a helpful video. I was walking home from work wanting to pick up a bomb top coat. 6 mins later, I got the SecheVive and I'm IN LOVE. 🔥🔥
I scored a total of 6oz of the Seche Vive on Ebay for $15 bucks
Seche has NEVER let me down. The ones with shrinkage is because they should be applied while wet.

p.s. It's a little spendy, but worth every penny.

U should try essence the gel nails top coat it's similar to essie Gel setter but a third off the price
Is it better to let it air dry or dry with a fan?
Do you get the same results if you change the fingers? I find my pinky hardly gets any wear on it
I just got the Seche one! I can't wait to try it
I have Seche Clear Base Coat and it works very well!!
Great video. Very informative review. Thanks for taking the time to post it.
I use gloves when I wash dishes . Nail polish usually lasts longer that way. Gorgeous nails btw!

That's my favorite burner too.
You should test out Essie Speed Setter top coat
Thanks!
Great video!! Thank you
Really good video and review. Thanks for the info
I hate an opaque top coat bottle 😢
Thank you!!
Seche Vive is so overrated. Not unlike Kale, which tastes like dirt!
Seche Vive is like Kale..it is CRAP!
