    I love their music and this song is on my "off road" songs loaded on my 4WD when I drive through the back roads of southern NM. Perfect!

    ¿te ha pasado que te gusta tanto una canción que quieres repetirla infinitamente y desearías no morir nunca para escucharla siempre?, tener el poder de no dormir para seguir escuchándola, incluso, después de que lo anterior es en imposible, morir con ella, aunque ni siquiera quieras morir. éso es lo que me pasa con esta canción, tan exquisita, tan indescriptible jamás, quisiera transportarme en ella, en sus notas, en la melodía de la guitarra, el compás de la batería, quisiera hundirme con algiers y enterrarme con ella, para respirar bajo la tierra la armonía de su perfecta composición. Lo escribí mientras la escuchaba, el arte divina, pura, celestial de escuchar algiers. gracias calexico

    The guitar's sound and some harmonies in this track remind those of the old guinean band "Sily Autentic" if you like this song go listen to them

      Yes... but it's actually about a quarter in New Orleans, where a lot of Jazz musicians lived.

    • @122099
      @122099 4 года назад

      Wikipedia says it was divided from New Orleans by water, like France and the algerian Algiers. And in Algiers the african slaves were held in quarantine, until they were sold.

    People who want the original quality not compressed lossy format that is youtube :) It still sounds like an mp3, 320kbps at best, and that's something that might even be wrong... maybe 192kbps probably...

    I'll disagree only because some of my favorite bands like Son Volt, Old 97s, Iron and Wine, James Yorkston, etc have had recent albums that were departures from their norm, and I thought they were horrible. I see exactly what you're saying, but I actually appreciate the consistency here.

    I like the song, and I like the album...but I feel like Calexico has really stalled out creatively. I'm going to check out the rest of the album but this track has definitely moved into that cliche territory that all country/folk bands should be fearing like the plague.
