Rigby is actually intelligent but his family praise Don over him, no matter what he does, Don is praised. ( we could imply he act out to just get his father's attention) so Rigby stops trying and became The slacker his father said he was... until Eileen loves him for who he was, for once he didn't need to prove to his parent, friends, or boss just being himself. regardless of his flaws, Eileen was still there. that act of pure love inspires him to be better, and not let his father's words dictate his life. Rigby is loved because despite his flaws he did not let family rules his life. People in America love characters who build themselves up
what? Mordecai was with him all the way through. Benson, Mordecai and the others (to a lesser extent) have always been hyping him if he ever does the right thing. They still loved him way before Eileen came in. Sure you can say that he changed for her but it would have more sense if he actually changed for the park friends who literally inspired him. The regular show movie did a great job at giving rigby some character development, and it wasnt even canon which sucked. But it forced him to face a literal future version of himself who never learned from his mistakes and ended up losing mordecai, and he had to confront his hypocritical nature and learn to take accountability for his actions, which was a really great story

Now when I was a kid I thought Benson was so mean but now that I'm 20 I completely understand him. I would probably go to jail for assault if I had to deal with people like Mordecai and Rigby on a daily basis. Especially Rigby. At least Mordecai tried to do his job. Benson is also a really reasonable person and I don't believe he has anger issues because a lot of the time his anger is completely justified. I be mad too if I told someone to do the most simplest and mundane task on earth and they still manage to mess it up. I also remember being annoyed at Rigby not wanting to set up the chairs. While Benson's anger was MOST of the time justified, his outbursts can sometimes fly way over the top, and sometimes he finds reasons to blow up when he's not entirely justified. So he still has anger issues.

Yes rigby was super irresponsible but I feel like a lot of people ignore the fact that mordecai isn’t exactly much better than Rigby as mordo’s struggles with doing anything more than required. Mordecai gives up easily on things he wants, he didn’t try to maintain a long distance relationship with Margaret even though I think he wanted too, he didn’t try to finish art school after getting “rejected” from college U (couldn’t he just transfer or try community college?). Agreed. I believe that there were more meta reasons for this. While many can agree that Rigby's positive changes in the series were a beautiful metaphor of people changing for the better at their lowest more people believe the inconsistent change in attitude and demeanor for Mordecai was due to something going horribly wrong in the writing room. It has always seemed that the writing staff needed the "bad friend" guy but when they tried to improve Rigby they suddenly remembered the ABSOLUTELY HEINOUS stuff he pulled earlier in the series and then had to sabotage Mordecai's development so that the audience would forget about Rigby's past actions. This is evident with how odd Mordecai acts whenever the writers need to make a big show of how great Rigby is becoming. They could have kept the positive progression for both characters consistent and steady but they didn't because they needed a character foil/contrast to get Rigby's head on straight. If you want to truly appreciate the good of Rigby and the bad of Mordecai you're going to have to acknowledge the bad of Rigby and the good of Mordecai. Otherwise, you are doing the characters and yourself a disservice.
Why of course we remember how much of a jerky bum Rigby, that's the first thing we think about when we think of Rigby. That's what makes his whole character development arc so heart warming. Dude actively tries changing, and I've never been so proud of a fictional character as much as him, I think

Mordecai was a bare minimum type worker who did just enough work to skate by. And I think a lot of people can identify with that, at least at one point in their life. Rigby takes it up a notch, to quite frankly being a menace and a manchild, really the worst of the worst of society (with the exception of criminals and stuff like that) so it’s harder to identify with that. Most people at least TRY a little bit. Anyways that why I like mordecai better, it’s easier to picture yourself in his shoes. But the way Rigby acts really makes the show what it is, so he has his place.
My only issue with this video was talking down the job of a park groundskeeper. It's real work, and it is also important work. Groundskeepers, Janitors, and Sanitation workers do these jobs to honestly make society pleasant to live in. And though it might not look like it on the surface, especially in a cartoon, groundskeeping is hard, honest work. That said, Rigby's ploy to manipulate Doug was terrible. He definitely did start as a lazy manbaby. But I do agree with the notion that that is why seeing his arc grow him into a more responsible guy that actually had ambitions to better himself was awesome.

Rigby's Character development feels good until you go back and watch season 1 and 2. He's straight up unrecognizable from the end of the series, lol. It's like whiplash until season three where he starts to calm down a bit.
I'm rewatching right now and at season 3 I'd say S1 he is the cause of the problem 90% of the time S2 he is the cause of the problem 75% of the time, Mordecai creates problems as well S3 he is the cause of ghe problem 50% of the time, also he now has a real relationship with his colleagues.
Mordecai and Rigby were not fired, because their job is extremely high turnover. In their economy, it is difficult to find people willing to work for the wages being offered for grounds keeping work. Also, Benson pays them similar to a sales job. You get paid for making sales/completing specific tasks, and don't get paid when you don't get it done. The coffee concert tickets episode is proof of that. This allows a significant level of flexibility. The key thing is that they pushed their way through, got better overtime, and won the team's hearts. Mordecai and Rigby were not fretting about the low pay as much because all their bills were being paid for automatically, except for some food and cleaning supply expenses, and income taxes of course, which was removed from their pay automatically. It was their infamy and work experience after the space adventure, that made it a lot easier for them to land good paying jobs, grow up, and raise a family successfully.
Mordecai is a noble coward, who will act courageously when necessary because he cares for the good but usually sits too much in his doubts. Rigby is a raucous child who acts impulsively and without thinking through the consequences

I hate Rigby for 2 reasons. 1) because of the whole thing with Rigby keeping Mordecai from his future and 2) the way he treated Eileen. Mordecai was a simp, but Eileen was a pick me. Even during its serialization, it was far past the whole “he’s sees what a great catch she is when she takes off her glasses” trope. That was it. That was literally when he stopped being an ass to her. It wasn’t because of her kindness or personality. It was because she looked hot without her glasses. It also lends to itself to the “woman that’s going places falls for the affable loser” trope that was also outdated. It took place at the time period where blueray DVDs were being talked about in the show, but the mindset was obviously 80s with lite 80s misogyny.
The show took place during the 90s, Quintel confirmed it. I don't think Rigby actually fell for her in that episode; he just said he thought Eileen was cute. Between seasons one and two, he tolerates her but when they go camping with Margaret. (Season two) He actually has fun with her. He always liked her but just didn't like her like that until Mordecai started dating CJ. Eileen and Rigby spent more time together and I think that's when he actually got feelings for her. I could be wrong though, just a thought.
Back then, I would agree with you, but after I've watched Regular Show the movie twice, I came to a realization that Mordecai had the opportunity to go to a different college amd ended up dropping out. Him and Rigby then went to look for work, found Pops, and the rest is history. Rigby has a few flaws; 1: he acts very childish,2: he annoys his co-worker from time to time, and 3: he's lazy. Despite having those flaws, Rigby is the funniest and most entertaining character in the entire show. If it weren't for him and Mordecai, Regular Show wouldn't be good.
This proves that both Mordecai and Rigby aren’t perfect. Mordecai has been getting crap for his relationship troubles when not everyone is perfect. Mordecai and Rigby aren’t saints and neither is everyone else.

( we could imply he act out to just get his father's attention) so Rigby stops trying and became The slacker his father said he was... until Eileen loves him for who he was, for once he didn't need to prove to his parent, friends, or boss just being himself. regardless of his flaws, Eileen was still there. that act of pure love inspires him to be better, and not let his father's words dictate his life.
Rigby is loved because despite his flaws he did not let family rules his life. People in America love characters who build themselves up

what? Mordecai was with him all the way through. Benson, Mordecai and the others (to a lesser extent) have always been hyping him if he ever does the right thing. They still loved him way before Eileen came in. Sure you can say that he changed for her but it would have more sense if he actually changed for the park friends who literally inspired him. But hey it is what the writers want. But saying that Rigby is intelligent is an outright lie. Sure he changed but that didn't. Rigby's bringing up doesn't excuse or justify most of his behavior throughout the show. I mean literally hid Mordecai's acceptance letter. WHat does that tell you?
The regular show movie did a great job at giving rigby some character development, and it wasnt even canon which sucked. But it forced him to face a literal future version of himself who never learned from his mistakes and ended up losing mordecai, and he had to confront his hypocritical nature and learn to take accountability for his actions, which was a really great story

Now when I was a kid I thought Benson was so mean but now that I'm 20 I completely understand him. I would probably go to jail for assault if I had to deal with people like Mordecai and Rigby on a daily basis. Especially Rigby. At least Mordecai tried to do his job. Benson is also a really reasonable person and I don't believe he has anger issues because a lot of the time his anger is completely justified. I be mad too if I told someone to do the most simplest and mundane task on earth and they still manage to mess it up. I also remember being annoyed at Rigby not wanting to set up the chairs. I wish I was getting paid for something like that. Just give me 2-3 minutes and those chairs would be done and my wallet will be filled
While Benson's anger was MOST of the time justified, his outbursts can sometimes fly way over the top, and sometimes he finds reasons to blow up when he's not entirely justified. So he still has anger issues.
I use to have anger issues a lot when I was a kid. I was able to hide it well, but sometimes the world would get on my nerves endlessly to the point where I want the earth to blow up.

Yes rigby was super irresponsible but I feel like a lot of people ignore the fact that mordecai isn’t exactly much better than Rigby as mordo’s struggles with doing anything more than required. Mordecai gives up easily on things he wants, he didn’t try to maintain a long distance relationship with Margaret even though I think he wanted too, he didn’t try to finish art school after getting “rejected” from college U (couldn’t he just transfer or try community college?). Agreed. I believe that there were more meta reasons for this. While many can agree that Rigby's positive changes in the series were a beautiful metaphor of people changing for the better at their lowest more people believe the inconsistent change in attitude and demeanor for Mordecai was due to something going horribly wrong in the writing room. It has always seemed that the writing staff needed the "bad friend" guy but when they tried to improve Rigby they suddenly remembered the ABSOLUTELY HEINOUS stuff he pulled earlier in the series and then had to sabotage Mordecai's development so that the audience would forget about Rigby's past actions. This is evident with how odd Mordecai acts whenever the writers need to make a big show of how great Rigby is becoming. They could have kept the positive progression for both characters consistent and steady but they didn't because they needed a character foil/contrast to get Rigby's head on straight. If you want to truly appreciate the good of Rigby and the bad of Mordecai you're going to have to acknowledge the bad of Rigby and the good of Mordecai. Otherwise, you are doing the characters and yourself a disservice.

Mordecai was a bare minimum type worker who did just enough work to skate by. And I think a lot of people can identify with that, at least at one point in their life. Rigby takes it up a notch, to quite frankly being a menace and a manchild, really the worst of the worst of society (with the exception of criminals and stuff like that) so it’s harder to identify with that. Most people at least TRY a little bit. Anyways that why I like mordecai better, it’s easier to picture yourself in his shoes. But the way Rigby acts really makes the show what it is, so he has his place.
Mordecai's weird simping and flip-flopping later in the show made it easier to consider Rigby as improving.

My only issue with this video was talking down the job of a park groundskeeper. It's real work, and it is also important work. Groundskeepers, Janitors, and Sanitation workers do these jobs to honestly make society pleasant to live in. And though it might not look like it on the surface, especially in a cartoon, groundskeeping is hard, honest work.
That said, Rigby's ploy to manipulate Doug was terrible. He definitely did start as a lazy manbaby. But I do agree with the notion that that is why seeing his arc grow him into a more responsible guy that actually had ambitions to better himself was awesome.
Yeah Mordecai would just be a fairly competent regular dude doing his job if it wasn’t for Rigby making him be an idiot with him and this is shown by the fact that Benson either yells at both of them or only Rigby but never just Mordecai.

Mordecai and Rigby were not fired, because their job is extremely high turnover. In their economy, it is difficult to find people willing to work for the wages being offered for grounds keeping work. Also, Benson pays them similar to a sales job. You get paid for making sales/completing specific tasks, and don't get paid when you don't get it done. The coffee concert tickets episode is proof of that.
This allows a significant level of flexibility. The key thing is that they pushed their way through, got better overtime, and won the team's hearts. Mordecai and Rigby were not fretting about the low pay as much because all their bills were being paid for automatically, except for some food and cleaning supply expenses, and income taxes of course, which was removed from their pay automatically.
It was their infamy and work experience after the space adventure, that made it a lot easier for them to land good paying jobs, grow up, and raise a family successfully.

I think one of my least favorite moments were when he did everything in his power to sabotage and embarrass Mordecai with all the solids and act like an asshole to Eileen, who just wanted to impress him. I hate Rigby for 2 reasons. 1) because of the whole thing with Rigby keeping Mordecai from his future and 2) the way he treated Eileen.
Mordecai was a simp, but Eileen was a pick me. Even during its serialization, it was far past the whole “he’s sees what a great catch she is when she takes off her glasses” trope. That was it. That was literally when he stopped being an ass to her. It wasn’t because of her kindness or personality. It was because she looked hot without her glasses. It also lends to itself to the “woman that’s going places falls for the affable loser” trope that was also outdated.
It took place at the time period where blueray DVDs were being talked about in the show, but the mindset was obviously 80s with lite 80s misogyny.

I don't think Rigby actually fell for her in that episode; he just said he thought Eileen was cute. Between seasons one and two, he tolerates her but when they go camping with Margaret. (Season two) He actually has fun with her. He always liked her but just didn't like her like that until Mordecai started dating CJ. Eileen and Rigby spent more time together and I think that's when he actually got feelings for her.
I could be wrong though, just a thought.
rigbys the shit. Mordecai is the bum, he messes with rigby and acts like his big mean brother. yeah rigby is lazy but he’s cool.
Back then, I would agree with you, but after I've watched Regular Show the movie twice, I came to a realization that Mordecai had the opportunity to go to a different college amd ended up dropping out. Him and Rigby then went to look for work, found Pops, and the rest is history. Rigby has a few flaws; 1: he acts very childish,2: he annoys his co-worker from time to time, and 3: he's lazy. Despite having those flaws, Rigby is the funniest and most entertaining character in the entire show. If it weren't for him and Mordecai, Regular Show wouldn't be good.

This proves that both Mordecai and Rigby aren’t perfect. Mordecai has been getting crap for his relationship troubles when not everyone is perfect. Mordecai and Rigby aren’t saints and neither is everyone else.
Despite Rigby being a bum at least in the end of the series he has shown to change. Unlike Oskar from hey Arnold yeah that guy clearly was the definition of bum. Rigby's able to keep a steady relationship all the way to marriage then suddenly Oskar he ends up taking his wife for granted. Of course it was later revealed by the Creator she and him got a divorce. I still don't know how he's still staying in the boardinghouse considering that what he does is not enough to pay the rent? But all that aside Rigby was one of the reasons. I couldn't really connect too much with the show because he literally acted like a child not wanting to do basic work. I mean this character he literally didn't even have a high school diploma along with the fact that he didn't quite seem to understand the basics of crossing the line

As a kid in temp check i kind of felt bad for Rigby about doug replacing him but now that im older Rigby was a asshole for taking advantage of Doug a hard working person i more sympathize with him even if he was a con man 😅
Benson probably doesn't fire Rigby because he's too cheap to find a competent employee.
he may changed his ways in the regular show finale it will be outshined by putting both himself and mordecai(rarely the other park workers) in trouble due to his laziness, lying, selfishness, slander, framing-up others (esp. mordecai), blaming, stupidity, denial and more
when in trouble he wanted mordecai(rarely the other park workers) to be in trouble too that's because he's friends with mordecai(rarely the other park workers) when the time the others were innocent or having a good time ,what a scumbag, I truly hate that raccoon
