Dammm this game looks awesome, I really like the atmosphere of it. And the 4 ways of completing the tutorial is also cool, I could see a lot of people appreciating the amount of feedback they get for their actions, like failing the tutorial. If you do end up doing it for a lot of the interactions, it seems like it would take a lot of dev time tho
I like the fact that the architect's instructions to Alice feel natural (like the "hold your fingers together" / "clench your fist"). I really dislike in games when characters say the keybindings in their dialogue. Breaks the immersion.
I think the bending mechanic needs more feedback You should make the anchor obvious when doing the gravity bending thing My Suggestion: Something like a Distortion shader or ripple effect mix something so that it feels more intense and like something gravitational happening. +Maybe small camera shaking, not like a hard rough one but like more soft. Looks like camera waving or rumbling. Btw i see you do a bloom thing but since that is the main mechanic of the game, i think polishing that is very important.
i think i preferred the way interactions worked before, instead of using E. I liked how interacting with the anchors and the environment were mapped onto the same input, I think that unity is really good for ease of use
@@aarthificial not sure if things have changed since this, since I haven't finished the series yet, but perhaps it could be changed in the options menu? Just a thought. Either way, loving this so far.
I'm writing this down xD Also, it kinda reminds me of Hollow Knight. There's this guy - Elderbug - at the beginning. If you skip past him without talking you can see him getting sad
I watched one of your more recent videos and really enjoyed it. So I subscribed. Now I find myself going back and watch all of your past devlogs. Something about them is just so pleasing to watch. Great work!
Thanks! Unfortunately, there's still no music in Astortion, it was added in post. I'm using Epidemic Sound and this piece, in particular, is Through The Storm by Savvum (ruclips.net/video/OW5ZZz0pV-Y/видео.html )
Great job expanding the interactables, especially interacting through dialog system. Looks like you left it open for a lot of possibilities! Also did I notice slightly animated fog above the parallax background?
Little idea regarding the interactibles: Have NPCs and such have the speech bubble interaction, and that dot you had for objects and such. If it causes problems for gamepads, maybe make the closest object the one interactible?
Something else is maybe looking at a way to make anchors blend in with objects in the game. Hooks on the ceiling, and old metal box, maybe it'd look way more natural and cool to look at. Great devlog, though. Really inspiring and promising. definitely another to the wishlist. :]
You keep doing tripe the work to make each bit of the game maybe 5-10% better. I sure hope the game actually gets released some day! (I should probably clarify that this is supposed to be a joke-I'm sure it will be.)
So you are copying Valve's games except for one of the key elements that make them so great, which are the hidden tutorials? No need for the guy over there explaining everything by text. Just let the player figure it out on their own, it's much more rewarding.
this game has so much charm and potential
Thank you!
Ik it really does

You should add an easter egg where if you manage to jump across the gap without talking to the architect he will look extremely suprised

Thanks! I'm gonna keep that in mind cuz at some point we'll be revising the visual aspects of the game

This can easily be changed but as I said in the video, a dedicated input is much more gamepad-friendly. We'll see.

2:18 I'd find it funny if that would display a "?" speech bubble above the architects head. Like a silent, confused "WTF".
I'm writing this down xD

Holy shit I'm gonna speedrun the fuck out of this game! Looks gorgeous!
What music is this, it's so mysterious yet hopeful, perfect for the setting of this game!
Thanks!

"Hold [LMB]" instead of "Press and Hold [LMB]"
Reduce the word count to avoid confusion and decrease complexity

Thank you so much!
Yes, there's an animated fog/dust in the background but the video compression had no mercy on it.
Great work, man!
Thanks!
What do you do to pause the game briefly to display the tutorial hint @ 1:44
I set Time.timeScale to 0
@@aarthificial that simple, ok. Thank you sir
No problem! One thing to remember is that UI and stuff need to use unscaled time otherwise they will also freeze.
@@aarthificial Okay
The mood is just perfect.
Really love the environments
Very nice.
Thanks!
I'm hyped for this game.

Ma dove lo posso trovare questo gioco?
Awesome
Thanks!
How do we get Morgan Freeman to voice the architect?
Made withou the need to stay for diologs is a this. Don't make the player stop to see the same text again and again.
I think I've mentioned it in the video but these dialogs are optional
@@aarthificial At the end of the video I understood that you would think it would become mandatory or not
Looks cool. Nice devlog - I make them too. :-)
Thanks!
I'll be sure to check them out.
!! nice man
thanks man
