Less is more when flying away. You had no speed because you kept switching direction. Next time: boost in a direction, uncouple, change your direction, recouple and boost. Use momentum to your benefit.

16:54 I'm pretty sure you were limited to SCM speeds without boost because your quantum drive was damaged. I've had that happen before and you end up going very slow. I had to land and use a repair tool to fix the drive before I could go home!
PS how long were you two twiddling your thumbs when slowly crashing to the ground? Yeah Simon is right re exiting a ship in ground vehicles the best one I have seen is some guys actually engaging ships with there missiles wile dropping to ground and still surviving, the physics are more than a little suspect in this regard but still hilarious.
