Great essay on this track. I have always thought this track was of someone running through an airport to catch a plan that he was late for. He literally is running with every ounce of strength he has , only to reach the gate just as the plane is taking off. As he looks out of the terminal window, people are laughing at him for running like a madman only to just miss his flight. And as the laughter fades away the plan explodes in the air. He literally was running to catch his death and missed it by seconds.

Couldnt agree more, pink floyd on psychedelic is literally out of this world.
DSOTM is one of their greatest albums definitely, but i really recommend you listen to echoes while peaking on psychs its literally a transcendental experience, definitely in my top 3 of my favorite songs.
Usually when i just want to have a other wordly experience even without psychs i turn the lights off lay in bed, or go out in the cold winter and sit right infront of the vast ocean and look at the stars while playing echoes on full volume.
I really recommend it with or without psycs.
Go out when its dark on a fully liit nightsky and watch the stars just looking at them for 23 minutes while the song plays and i gyarentee it will change your life.
Take care bro wherever you are :)

@Mabel Pines If you have to be out of your fucking mind to enjoy a song, then maybe that song is not that good...I've already listened to DSOTM on acid with friends and always found on the run to be extremely boring

Bernardo Carneiro trapping psychedelics doesn’t get you out of your mind but if that song isn’t appealing then you probably need a better system. if you have a decent system then you might be broken.

My brother, who is a bigger Pink Floyd fan than I am, once described the last part of this piece as a late commuter desperately running through an airport, managing to barely catch his plane, only to die when the plane crashes. Since then, this track has been quite philosophical for me.

How about a video on "Red Headed Stranger", "Phases and Stages" or "Shotgun Willie"? Those are 3 epic albums, for country and rock n' roll... Willie in his prime!

The original note sequence for "On the Run" in the original album are as follows:
    E4 E3 G3 A3 G3 D4 C4 D4
If one decides to try a different spin on the tune, one could use this alternate sequence of notes as used on the live albums, "Delicate Sound of Thunder" and "PULSE":
    E4 E3 G3 B3 A3 G3 B3 D4
    Screen film (1987): ruclips.net/video/ynd7TLJXl0E/видео.html

I actually thought that the “On The Run” audio was a mental hospital with patients and doctors running through the halls and a lady talking through an intercom
