Thank you very much for speaking slowly and explaining things so clearly! This helped a lot.
I have looked at five different videos and this one is the only one that made sense, thank you!
I'm glad this one helped. I have a lot of content, so make sure to look for other topics you might be struggling with.
This is the best explanation of this, thank you, you've earned a sub lol
on the compression your parent function has a mistake you did (3,0) insted of (4,0) on the x^2 thank you for your support these videos help alot and i just giveing back a liitle of the help you gave me in Grade school
Thank you. I need to remake the video and reupload it. Glad you find my videos helpful.
@@MathandStatsHelp anything i can do to help
very helpful thank you, but the glitch brush effect was quite hard to look at.
thank you very much for this tutorial this helped me study for my algebra 1 exams thanks :)
You're welcome
It helps me, Thanks!
thank you, my teacher didn't explain vertical compression well. she said the absolute value of a>1 is stretch and absolute value of a
Glad it helped
@@MathandStatsHelp So if I understand completely, -2x^2+4x-5 is a vertical stretch?
@@MathandStatsHelp wait, actually, I'm confused now lol.
Yes it would be a vertical stretch by a value of 2 and it would also reflect over the x-axis since it is negative.
@@MathandStatsHelp ok tysm
Best teacher ever
Thank you so much! This helped a lot.

yeet, btw 16/2 isn’t 4, i got lost at that part
Sorry, I should have said 8. Sometimes when I'm talking and writing, my brain doesn't do the right thing. Thanks for catching it.
Using mouse or a pen?
Monoprice graphics tablet with pen
If a = - 2 is it a compression or stretch neither?
It would be a vertical stretch, because it's going up twice as fast, but it would also be reflected over the x-axis because of the negative.
what if there is no value in the A spot?
then it's neither

What happens when your a value is less than -1?
If your a value is negative, then it flips your graph over the x-axis, so the graph would open downwards.
WHAT IF “a” IS 1?!?! IS IT A STRETCH OR A COMPRESSION??????PLS I NEED THIS AND NO ONE IS GIVING ME AN ANSWER!!!!!!
If a is 1, then it is neither a stretch nor compression
