Sir I have to say Thankyou. I have a very old conover lathe,24inch throat with a 16 foot bed and I've been afraid to use it so I told some folks at a party about it and one man said he had a small lathe and more gouges I could have to start with. I was looking for some idea of what gouges to use and found your video so now I will try to turn some firewood into a bell or kindling. Thankyou. God bless.

Nice project, and a switcharoo: using a bell as the clapper of a bell. Some questions:
    1) was the wood green when you did the turning?
    2) Why did you use the parting tool to true up the end of the cylinder only to cut the end off?

Nice! Another idea to add to my projects list. I have a Rikon midi (my 2nd) so I like doing the smaller turnings.

Me dá arrepios ao ve-lo usar a goiva tão perto do mandril . Nao deve conhecer medidas de segurança. Nao gostei.
