I have no doubt that there are hundreds of families who have a person in the family who is experiencing some kind of mental illness, drug addiction, gambling habit and that person regularly uses threats and coercion to manipulate the people in their family. The people suffering the abuse have a major problem with calling for help because the response by the State is often disproportionate to the call for action.
