In South Africa🇿🇦, when women braid their hair into rows like that, they keep a pin/needle somewhere in their hair incase it gets itchy so they can scratch it easily

I love this soooo much. As a black girl with 4c hair I have always been judged in school about my hair especially when I wore corn rows so seeing this really makes me happy, Because I think us as a people should be united, instead of judging each other based off our hair and ethnicity,and let me tell you calamity has been doing just that, she has been so diverse with these hair play role plays and I love her for that. No some ppl don’t want strangers touching there hair even even if they are educated on different races and hair textures and style (AM NOT BEING RACIST I AM LITERALLY JUST SAYING)
Kinda late but like, every human has boundaries, despite their religion, culture, ethnicity, race etc.
So even if a person knows stuff about their hairstyles it doesn't mean that they're automatically allowed to touch people's heads.

as a half asian person with wavy hair and absolutely no idea how braids work but they’re BEAUTIFUL…. I love this

They hurt a lot to do and still hurt a lot a few days afterwards
But once they're loose enough the pain stops and you'll feel normal again :D
(They can also be itchy if your scalp is dry)
Where do you get them ? It never hurt for me but my mom does it and I don’t add extensions so maybe that’s why

It’s so crazy how some schools in America are so racist, just hearing about girls who felt bad about their braids.
I grew up in a country without many Africans or any African Americans, when I was 16 - Sudanese immigrants came over and the two Sudanese girls were some of my best friends (I’m also mixed), and everyone else was super kind to them. Though to be fair, white people were a minority in my school.
It used to be really bad but nowadays it's really not. White people have been the minority (statistically speaking) in the US since about 2017. And nowadays everyone is so afraid to say the wrong thing that they typically keep their mouths shut. Honestly in my experience, living in Delaware which is a predominantly black area, you find more discrimination and racism/bullying towards white people than anything. Times are changing and in America nowadays you get bullied for being white.

Hi Calamity ASMR, first time viewer here! You just randomly popped up on my recommend and when I saw those cornrows I clicked immediately. I'm blasian (half black, half asian, bu the black side is stronger lol) anyways I felt included and loved because I rarely see ASMRtists with black scalps/hair, I felt included and loved because at school I've been bullied for being part asian and having "black" hair so I felt included watching this vid, and also I just love how sweet you were. like you're educated but the way you want to learn more just makes me smile and interact along with your videos.
ps. i had cornrows like 2 months ago (some people laughed or told me I looked silly) but with this video I feel heard, appreacted, and happy to be who I am and no longer ashamed to wear a cultural hairstyle. sorry for the long rant lol. just wanted to say thank you!!
