I mean, while I like most to some of the story changes in the new canon, I honestly think that it was kind of a stretch to make Maul the direct son of Mother Talzin herself. I think it would have worked quite well (maybe even better) to keep Kycina as his mother, and have her be viewed as a traitor to the Dathomirian culture and ways. So yeah, I approve of your usage of Maul's origins here.
I saw the What If yoda trained general grievous ,it was Awesome ,I cant wait for the second part , I like the Droid General being Savage but I wonder what would happen if ... let’s say since grievous wasn’t on the planet, his love interest from the original timeline would have been known as kalee’s greatest warrior ,gaining the sith’s attention and making her the droid general and having her body altered and dooku training her in the way of lightsaber combat to go against grievous. And similar to the original timeline of him having dream of hunting a animal he would have a dream of being on a battlefield and being attacked by the female warrior similar to him and later wake up hearing of a actual attack going on at that moment hearing of a new droid general and going out of his way to stop it later coming across the female warrior on the battlefield and realizing that she was the same race and altered he would try to talk to her and stop her instead of killing her. I like where your story left off ,I just wondered how that could have effected grievous. #GENERAL-GRIEVOUS !

I have always really liked Maul, ever since the movie. This was clinched when his character was fleshed out in the Clone Wars, which was so much fun! That was an exciting time for me... Here's an idea that almost became Cannon, but was Retconed by George Lucas himself: Jar jar Binks being a Sith Lord. In TPM, there's clear signs that Jar jar was indeed a Sith, but he was so good at playing his act as a fool, everyone watching overlooked it and attributed his success to just dumb luck. But as Obi Wan Kenobi said in the new hope, "from my experience, there's no such thing as luck." And there's merit to Jar jar being a Sith in that it's the way of the Sith to deceive. Just as nobody realized Palpatine was Darth Sidious----until it was too late.
I kinda want to see a What If Extension where Maul protects Savage, manages to bring him to the light, and somehow brings Ventress too. Fun Night Trio.
No reason to expect that QGJ would've fought Savage the same way he did Maul. They had different builds and strengths, and the fight would've been very unlikely to play out the same way

I honestly think that the same outcome at the end of episode 1 would happen. Everyone trains differently and his attitude and style as a younger zabrak would’ve caused a different outcome. It’s the butterfly effect: change one thing, change everything. Obi-Wan could’ve been the one killed and Qui-Gon survived. Just because you make me be change doesn’t mean everything else stays the same. Suppose it was Maul and Windu that went to Naboo instead of Jinn and Kenobi?

Will be watching 2 & 3 So I never interpreted Mother Talzin in the Clone Wars as being Maul or Savage’s literal mother, but more like an honorific title like in church a priest may be referred to as Father or a nun as Mother and either could call any boy or man of their congregation Son. Same reason I never thought Maul & Savage were literally brothers, or the invisible sisters Ventress took with her to kill Dooku were all literally blood. Was there more to that definition that I missed? Just was a bit surprised by that definition of canon lore.
