What's your favourite Amp Sim right now? I'll go first: For me, it's the Clairvoyant Amp Sim by MMS, and this new Neural DSP Morgan SW50R! I've been playing with it a TON since making this video!
It's pretty epic! Be sure to take Neural DSP up on the free demo as it definitely reacts to different guitars and pickups dramatically differently! Been cool with everything I've tried, but single coils to humbuckers cause the Morgan distortions to break up in a very different way!
Great vid, these tones are sick in context. It's giving nothing but thieves guitar tone vibes 🎉 favourite amp plugin right now is probably RABEA from Neural. Going to check out the new Two Notes Genome though, which looks promising.
Thanks! The bass chain we recorded with was a P-Bass, split into both an Ampeg SVT Kemper Profile and a DI Capture. I think I opted to process the DI rather than use the Kemper on this particular song, but I definitely used both across the entire album! As for processing the bass guitar tones, Fabfilter Saturn 2 was the distortion tool of choice on the bass guitar tones!
Yes! It’s the legendary Morgan AC20 profile by rmpacheco (free on the Kemper Rig Exchange). And that’s just my salt rock lamp - if you’re referring to the orange light at the back of my video!
Preferred the Kemper. Had a nice bite to it that was missing from the Neural, which had a mushy and soft quality. Maybe a TS in front of the Morgan would have addressed that.
I totally hear you on that, but it is worth noting that we spent a lot of time dealing in that kemper tone and even more time when it came to mixing, so I'm very impressed with how close we got things with just slapping the plugin on the DI! I don't think I'd struggle getting this into a mix or a recording at all! Appreciate the comment and thanks for watching eh!
I played along with my Neural Morgan. In the morgan suite go to the pedals add the compressor and OD1 but with the drive all the way down. It sounds identical and will make u play all day long. Neural are outstanding. I love the Morgan, Rabea, and Mateus. even cory wong is really great for guitar and bass
Neural = 96k (less aliasing). All hardware modeling = 48k (more aliasing). Yes, you CAN hear the difference. The quality of modeling itself in the AXE is my favorite, but Neural has ability to surpass them simply due to sample rate.
Thanks for the comment! I haven't gotten to try any recent AxeFx stuff, but I remember liking one of their older units when one came into the studio! Would the Neural DSP amp sim actually be using 96k in this case though (the session was at 48k, and my recording interface was also set to 48k) - so would the Kemper and Neural Amp suites not both be at 48K in this case? (To clarify, since things can get misconstrued over text, I'm asking you as you seem to have a deeper grasp on the specifics of recording sample rates and aliasing than I do! Not intending to argue with your statement, I'd just like to grasp the concept more deeply).

This is the best demonstration of this plug-in I've seen so far.
Thoroughly appreciate the kind words! Thanks for watching eh!
I have this one high on my list, because the tones are pretty well what I’m after for my next bunch of songs.

@@malcomowenflood sick. Looking forward to trying it out (and knowing me, I’ll print a few things before the trial is done! 🫣🤫)

Thank you, glad you dug it! And good comparison! I love Nothing But Thieves guitar tone, and their entire production quality honesty! Big fan.
Great video!
What is your bass guitar chain for this video ?
Also sounds very nice ?

@@malcomowenflood thanks ! sounds very nice !!
very good video
thanks
Cheers! Appreciate the kind words and thanks for watching!
Was the Kemper AC20 from the one it came with and... lol I like that light in the background what is that?

@ yea I have a bunch of plugins but the Kemper has fullness that’s unique but in the mix no one know. Thanks for tip on the light

Rad!
nice work
One of the best Neural Dsp, especially for rock sounds.
