- マイターソーを使ってお皿を作る方法を考えました。
木工旋盤持ってないし…鑿で掘るには難しい。
そんな時はこの方法を試してみてはいかがでしょうか？

What if you used the saw to "drill" from the start? At the end, when you are done making all the cuts, you clean up the piece by simply rotating it under the running blade. Of course, you can't simply cut deep into it and just rotate it once, but you can sink it 1mm in, rotate once, 2mm, rotate, ... you know what I mean?
you can, but also it would wear the blade faster and put extra strain on it, because those blades aren't really "rigid" when it comes to side pressure

Good "out of the box" thinking.
I would suggest making a plywood tool, similar to an open end wrench, to turn the piece. If the blade somehow grabbed that piece, whatever happens, would happen in the blink of an eye.
Additional clamping of the work piece that still allowed it to rotate would be useful.

If you placed it off center what kind of shape would you get? Oval? Egg shape?
I think you'd get a circular hole but it would be something of a torus depending on the amount of offset and depth of cut. Certainly having the pivot point inline with and well ahead of the blade would make a torus.
@@StickyBit7777 A torus is a doughnut shape so I don't think that is correct. You'd still get an circular depression, but much larger.
@@jimthesoundman8641 right. Now imagine the torus cut in half, perpendicular to the main axis. Depending on the geometry of the tool you most certainly could get a depression in the wood that would outline that shape.
@@StickyBit7777 Oh, I see what you are saying, if you put it way off center but still in line with the blade. I was thinking of something else.
I know its a bowling ball holder that i haven’t used in 55 years lmao and pour epoxy resin over the entire thing

Why not use a nail instead of a dowel so you don’t have a big hole to fill on the other side?

Absolutely dangerous. It is not worthy to risk your hands in a such a way for that poor result.
He is using superbly sharp blade and using very light cuts. I think it would be simple to make additional clamping if the work piece onto the mounting block.
I agree that it would be dangerous for an inexperienced person, but the video proves that with extreme care the danger is limited. I’m going to try it with clamping the workpiece. You are right to warn. Circular saws and chop saws are dangerous all the time.
