I blame centuries of programming. Just a few generations ago women were trained that a womanly virtue was to not be jealous. This was to facilitate the institution of multiple wives\ concubines. While polygamy is no longer allowed, I think a holdover that is just now being erased is the idea that a good woman and a good wife is one who doesn’t mind their husbands indiscretions. Not that the man’s not castigated for stepping out of his marriage, nor is the woman deemed unreasonable for getting upset these days, but still it’s like the ideal woman, the perfect woman is one who sacrifices for her family by looking the other way.
He cheated on her, but instead of her being outraged, or him the culprit pleading for forgiveness, she's the one begging to take him back? What am I missing here? I'm just astounded at how little self-love, self-respect, or self-esteem these women have?
