Hello from Maine USA. I am also a fan of RevZilla; however I always seek out your reviews because they are far superior. The viewer receives a well informed education. You are an expert in your field. Well done.
Thank you Chris for taking the time for making these reviews
I own an NXR1, and one advantage of the centre visor mechanism in the NXR2 I think would be when stopped and holding the clutch in with your left hand, it's quite tricky in the NXR1 to open the visor for venting purposes with your right hand.
chris el mejor analisis de un casco que vi en mi vida, te felicito, saludos desde Oviedo,Asturias ,España.
So much to learn from your video. Great amount of detail and comparison. I've become a subscriber.
What a great review, very comprehensive and clear. I bought one!🎉
Awesome review. Very clear and concise information. Well presented! Thanks so much 👍
Great and very clear review! Thanks from Italy
thanks for this great review of the NXR2. I have the NXR and I fully agree on your opinion of the central lock of the new NXR2. With the sidelock of the NXR the seal is not always good. In addition in it sometimes a pain to operate the visor when you are at at stop holding the clutch... also the first notch of the NXR is too wide open, really like these updates of the NXR2.
Hi Chris, what a great video ! Its informative & I learned something !
What a great talent to position what you do and make the rest of us more aware of latest tech in our hobby.
And I can’t wait to cross the channel on my two wheels for a tea break in Yorkshire to taste some biscuits of yours - that’s my takeway ;)
Thanks you !
Motolegends are in Guildford, Surrey 👍
What a perfect review this is! Really helpful, thanks a lot!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I always enjoy and trust your reviews.
Thank you for the content! Very helpful! Best regards from germany 😁👍🏻
Great review!!
I'm a bit late to the party. What a great, thorough and insightful review. I bought one.
Amazing video my friend! Great information, helped me a lot! I live in Brazil and it's difficult to find deep info about some products. Tks
Another wonderfully detailed and informative review. I wouldn't worry about comparing yourself to the Revzilla guys Chris. They are good but very American. You are equally good but very British! Keep up the good work.
American Americans?
How un-British!
I had the Arai Quantic, great looking helmet, but I had the problem that so much wind circulation came in via the neck/chin, it was just so bad on my eyes, constant draft, made worse when turning the head side to side.
Picked up the NXR2, and this is so much better. Much quieter also.
Woohoo, been waiting for Shoei to drop a 22.06 helmet! Will be sure to drop by the store soon and try it on 👍🏽
Do you know if a Neotec 22.06 is in the works?
OSR First thing. Don’t drop by soon; the helmet won’t be here until September. No news on an ECE 22-06 Neotec. It was only released fairly recently, so I suspect that it won’t be high up on the list. CP
@@Motolegends wow super quick reply, just seen that as I commented before you mentioned that in the video ;). Ok will keep an eye on the channel and hold my horses until later in the year!
All the best
Great review 👊🏻
I absolutely loved my previous SHOEI and just ordered this NXR 2... can't wait.
(Abd I've had a Shark - not bad, and Arai - great, but very expensive, and a Bell - Crap... Shoei is still my fav!).
thanks for review
Nice video. Thanks!
Awesome review
excellent review ! just one question, the gray nxr2 and the black nxr were these the same size ? because the gray one, looks slightly bigger
Amazing review. Do you know if it's possible to (easily) mount a Cardo Pack Talk Bold?
Shout out from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦. Appreciate your in-depth product tests, reviews, and opinions, Chris. You and your team at MotoLegends put out some of the best bike gear content on RUclips. Quick question on the NXR2 - how does it compare to the RF1400 Shoei I just purchased? It looks similar and has similar features. Ty in advance.
Its the same helmet.
@@Birdfeeder795 👍🏽
Not exactly the same. RF1400 uses AIM+ whereas NXR2 uses AIM in their shells I surmise that the different shell technologies are to enable Shoei to meet the different safety standards - SNELL M2020D and DOT for the RF1400 and ECE 22.06 for the NXR2. RF1400 appears to be heavier than NXR2 in a given shell size.
@@kshred3043 Ty 👍🏽. Appreciate the clarity.
Do you know if you can get self tinting visors for this?
Hi Chris, did you mention before that shoei make a moduler helmet that can stay open while riding?
Chris what should I get? The Shoei NXR 2 or the HJC RPHA 11? I like the new ECE standard on the Shoei but I like the wider visor view on the HJC. 🤔
Love my NXR
Hi Chris, have you guys reviewed the Shoei rt 1400?
Thanks
Just got this nxr2
Hi!! Just came across this video (3 years laterr) and it convinced me that the nxr2 should be my next helmet. I'm inbetween this and the scorpion exo 1400 evo 2/exo gt sp air. What would you recomend? I ride a Kawasaki Z900 2023. Thanx for the awesome video! Greeting from Sweden.
Do you know if this helmet will take a packtalk bold ?
Thanks Chris, can you do one which covers best helmets for those of us that required to wear glass, many thanks
These days pretty much all helmets work with glasses. Certainly the brands of helmet we sell. The only issue is if you have glasses with thin spindly arms they are sometimes difficult to get in to the helmet. If you have straight metal arms on the glasses it will be easy. Take your helmet with you when you buy new glasses!
Does the NXR1 not have a cracked position for the visor?
I am always curious about the amount of space in front of the chin.
I experienced Arai helmets where I could "push" my chin forward and it would come in contact with the inside of the helmet, which I didn't like at all. I then started using the Arai Tour X-4 which has plenty of space (also for a mic with dead cat). Although I like the new safety of the Quantic (and here the NXR2) it will be hard going back.
Chin space is a crucial detail. I really wanted NXR, but then I spoke, the helmet would move - it was that hard pressed against it. Scary to thing what would happen in case of a get-off. X-Spirit III has a little more space so I am considering it now. Alas, I am looking for a sport/naked helmet, so X-4 types will not do.
Excellent point, often overlooked even in the best reviews. I actually gave up on the Arai Rapide Neo (Concept X in Europe) because of the lack of chin/nose space in the front. Shame because I still love the looks and headspace is OK. The more oval shape of the Shoei NXR shell (1 in my case) raised no issues at all however.
Can I fit my Cardo Packtalk Slim on that helmet???
So if the rf-1400 is not ece in usa, it doesn’t mean it isn’t, but rather it just wasn’t tested for ece in the usa?
Will all new helmets have to conform to this spec & if so when is it due to begin? Some good information thanks👍
Just watched your vid on 22.06, which I somehow missed. So I now know existing spec 22.05 can be sold until at least June 23.
Thank you
Great video! Love the technical depth...
... is it just me or does the NXR 2 look a lot like the AGV K6?
They are very similar and direct competition to each other.
Nice
I’m currently in Florida for work and it amazes me that helmets are not a requirement here
The logic is because they don’t split lanes 🙃
love❤️️
Which visor is wider NXR or NXR2 ? Also which is taller, I mean in forehead zone ?
NXR2 is wider. Not sure on which is taller.
@@Motolegends Would be great in yours future reviews to see detail comparison of visors NXR, NXR2, K6 which has bigger field of view and does it really feels on the road. Thanks !
Given how old the helmet is. Are there already rumors about a NXR 3?
Will the 22.06 testers release the actual values at which the helmet breaks, or just a 'passed'? what if an Arai is twice as strong as required, then noone will know?
You don’t seem to fully understand the role of a helmet. A helmet is supposed to absorb energy, not deflect it. Helmets that are too strong are not safer, and in some cases are distinctly dangerous, which is why 22-06 contains a low speed energy absorption test. In direct answer to your question, no the stats. will not be published, but that’s the case with all CE standards. You should watch this video again or our 22-06 video if you want more of an understanding.
@@anonanon5928 No, I don't confuse rigidity with absorbtion and safety. Numbers would be informative, but perhaps the best is if Arai/Shoei publish their internal test criteria, arranged so its easily comparable with 22.06.
@@biondanishgenomeinstitute8193 since proprietary tests are different, the only thing you can compare is the ECE requirements.
Arai are not twice as "strong" as other helmets, they only have a stiffer outer shell and a softer inner liner which means they are different, not better ( look the SHARP result)
Is it compatible with the transitions visor?
This helmet has a new visor so there isn't yet a transition visor. I am sure they will be but accessories are often a few months behind the helmets themselves.
Is it true that the visor of the nxr 2 does not lock easily?
You do have to be quite firm with it.
NXR 2 or GT AIR 2? Harley rider. Thanks
Is it suitable for round head structure?
Not really. It’s quite oval.
Why aren’t there more Suomy reviews.? I’m really interested in getting one
We only do the premium brands.
@@Motolegends 😂😂😂😂😂
Please don't try to copy Revzilla. Too loud and in yer face like many American channels
You are doing more than fine Chris
If it ain't broke
24:21 = THANK YOU!!! Nobody mentions this, and it's hugely important... try on helmets before you buy!
I think I’ll buy the NXR1. More affordable.
Would be great if it had a sun visor too.
That would be the GT Air 2
@@dokmartin3072 GT Air 3 if you were after the new standard compliance I imagine. I guess Shoei wanted to keep the NXR 2 more sport oriented than touring.
@@rickp9946 The NXR has always been about that: simple, light, safe. Sun visors are always a compromise when it comes to safety and weight.
Important to mention - pinlock is only certified for daylight riding. At least in USA and EU.
The name of the Japanese helmet manufacturer is not pronounced as foot wear.
It is not a shoe-i. 💩
Stop pronouncing Shoei as "shoey"...
Maybe go and look up, how Japanese words are pronounced, before writing a comment? Ei like in Sensei, Geisha, Gakusei, Shoei! I think he is pronouncing it good for an non Japanese…
Nxr 2 is the best helmet on the market as all rounder, 5 stars sharp, weight, ece22.06,multi density eps, double D, eqrs and photochromic visor
Great review 👊🏻
