Amikas117 Haha! Yeah that system was notoriously loud. Sucked doing overnight renders since it was in my bedroom. My system now pretty much runs on stealth mode 24/7.
I’ve been wanting to make a duel for some time, and I know that you guys as well as the rest of the “wieberverse” as I call it (videos with Ryan Wieber in it) use carbon fiber rods as your blades. Where do you buy them? I swear I’ve scoured the internet and I can’t find anything long enough or thick enough…
Nice , really good Job at AVN2 , Brothers Quarrel and Duel of the Dorks ...! Yeah :D But please could you send me the Download Link for the Music you used in AVN2 and Duel of the Dorks? I really enjoyed the Music and your Lightsaber Fights! oh and can i use your/Justin R. Durban´s Music in my own Videos if im going to give you credits? (Link to your Channel and Video...)? Would be great if you answer :D!!!!! (Sorry for bad English, im from Austria/Österreich)
okay you guys now realize i will never be able to watch this fight again without seeing the damn continuity error of you guys switching saber hilts for the lightning block scene now!!! haha!
Yeah, I don't know where we went wrong. Maybe they were in a bad mood. The worst part was we reached out way in advance and told them the days we had scheduled, and they waited until that morning to tell us no. I'm sure we could get full cooperation these days.
Great job guys... sometimes in the future i'm planning on doing a fan made film of Darth Revan. Be awesome to have you guys be part of the VFX /CGI team here in St Louis, MO. Just putting it out there.
MoviesEducationGamin The Red belongs to Alex. And yeah, shot and did most of the VFX at 4k. We had work at HD and upres some of the bigger shots due to time restraints. And the slow-mo stuff required cropping the sensor and recording resolution down to 3k or 2k depending on the frame rate.
We had one Novus, bought from Ryan Wieber’s old SaberShop, which Alex was fighting with. The two I used were props I built in high school metals class. Those used aluminum blades while the Novus has carbon fiber. We used ForceFX for a few close-ups where we wanted interactive lighting.
Ryan and I built our own sabers early on, though now days I use the Novus, which is the model Ryan designed and sold on sabershop.com for awhile. The shop is on hiatus at the moment though. Keep a lookout on the site; the Novus is a very nice stunt saber that I recommend if you get the chance to buy one.
Dave Thompson The Novus (orange blade) is carbon fiber and the other two sabers were 1/2" T6 aluminum tubing (1/8" wall thickness if I recall correctly). Now we have another Novus so we're just using carbon fiber, which is what was used on Revenge of the Sith.
That moment you realize episode 8 should've been made by you guys
they did work in ep 8
You know your computer is working hard when it sounds like a hair dryer.
btw, I still think this is one of the best LCC entries of all time.

We lucked out. When we informed NPD that we'd be shooting downtown and at Logan's, they offered to close Madison Ave for us to shoot our exteriors.

What did you guys use for the props?
