- A good friend and I got out hunting for an old mill that had been erased from history by mother nature. As we walked up on a massive hewed timber, we knew we were close.
Hey there Avery!! So cute!!
Thanks
Great area to explore! Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks estes008
Enjoyed watching from the uk.
Thanks sophie gough
I live in the blue ridge mountains, I leased some land with a large stream it had 2 Mills on it .I was told one had washed out in 1840.artifacts everywhere. The hills are full of these things.
Jeffrey I would love and help find them.
You guys had fun, thank you for sharing!
Yes we did Mainely and thanks for watching.
Great video Jeff. Still amazes me after 18yrs of hunting. The things we find in the middle of nowhere. Looked like Avery was ready to go work. Thanks for sharing. Until next time HH&GL *Chris*
It is amazing that so much was lost back then and even today. The rate the fencing is going he'll be able to finish it when he's 18.lol
great start to the video thank you for sharing
Thanks Brian
Cool location. Love the history. Little Avery is too cute👍. HH Jeff. See ya soon.
Thanks Tim.
Good job guys!
Thanks buddy!!
Did the ring stay in the family?
Yes it did, I wouldn't have it any other way!
Thanks for sharing Jeff. I'll be watching. Hoping to meet up with you sometime.
Thanks Jimmy and that would be nice.

Well now that looked like fun. Nice ring, hope the button cleaned up good. Avery will be right there with ya before long.
Thanks Jeff and yes Avery will be there soon enough... Man they grow fast.
Nice video Jeff. Carl HH

Good ideas
Found an old mill in ga and found the mill stone in the ground down the creek .cant get it out by my self.maybe one day.
Use the 4 wheeler to get across ! Lol !
I wonder if those timber logs are chestnut ? If so they are 800 a board foot. Enjoyed the video
I hope to find out this spring Richard.
You last found a wonderful treasure.貴方は最後に素晴らしい宝物を見付けた。
Thanks
What's the name of that creek. Be willing to bet Grant or Sherman went through therr. There looks like a road that follows along that creek.
Neat place for sure! Thanks for sharing. About how old do you think that ring is?
Really not sure I need to do some more research.
You should try to get those timbers, that's part of saving history. Awesome finds.
I'm gonna try... if the landowner will let me.
AN observation...in only 215 years most of the traces of humans in that area are almost gone. In another 1000 years there will be nothing to indicate that that area was ever inhabited.
We found a grist mill stone in the creek on our property. But nobody knows of anything in the area.
You need a better digging partner. Can’t believe Ricky wouldn’t pole vault over the creek. Lightweight
Great location and beautiful day. Thanks for taking us along Jeff
Yeah I have no ideal why he wouldn't.lol Thanks for watching buddy.
I've been down many creeks in southern ky and on the plateau around Cookeville, Tn and these old mill sites aren't too uncommon.
Once when we were out hunting in S. Ky. we came across some old boards under the water. My grandfather, born 1905, said those boards and nothing else were there when he was a small boy. He said he only knew that an old mill once stood there.
Wildcat they are common around here. I would love find one that hasn't been covered by 8 feet of trash.
TennesseeJeff what region off TN are you in?
About 45 min north east of Nashville.
Nice to see someone digging into they're past.
that was the best thank you for sharing with us weeeeeeeeeeeee
Thanks again Brian
Still wondering about the rail bridge. When and where thay were made?
Bobby I'll check this weekend.
That spot reminds me of the spot down on Chad's place. Interesting looking spots.
Yes it does!! and I would love to get them timbers too, if we could.
Dig that shelter, probably full of artifacts.
We will this spring.
Avery is adorable
Thanks Coni
Approx location?
Latitude; 36.567007 Longitude; - 85.381332
Thanks. I know that can be a touchy request. I like to walk the creek beds for points and agates. That looked like a neat place. The logs ware amazing. I agree, it is a shame to just let them go! I enjoy your videos. My son in law & daughter recently purchased 25 acres at the end of Beasley’s Bend on south side of the river in Hartsville. I have watched you dig artifacts from that battle. Have you ever been on the bend where Morgan crossed?
Keith that's funny I was just trying to get permission to get the timbers out (No luck yet). Never have, but would love to.. working on the property on the north side now, it belongs to a farmer I know.
TennesseeJeff just after I retired, I got an Infinium LS. I have not found anything but trash. I know very little about the machine and find it more difficult to use than expected. But I love to be outdoors doing just about anything. I was reading some of the history of that battle and his Calvary split and crossed the river to the north. There is a very short road on Beasley’s bend (I think it’s called Averitts Ferry). Do you know anything about that? Apparently that is also where the army was doing training for WWII.
Great show Jeff, loved it down by the creek. That little overhangs should have some Native American artifacts. You guys need to drag a sifter up there and a few shovels and see what’s hiding in the shelter dirt onto the front lip and back wall would be great places to start
Thanks Erle.. we are gonna try this spring.
my papa wooda carved some birds otta that timba...pretty ones.
I bet there were pretty.
i used to relic hunting down by a old marina, when water is realy low,it used to be a old garbage dump late 1800s,find old bottles in the mud banks, further down river while bank fishing i found a old bayonette,i took it the local antique store, said it wasnt worth anything,it had stamped on it...usa,i googled pics of it only pic it looked like was a old viet nam bayonet
Should explore the bank once again, could be you find some goldnuggets........
Enjoyed it!
Thanks Greg
so tiny little man. That button wouldn't be part of a war uniform? Boat shoes would be so handy.
There is a good chance that those old timbers are Chestnut..
Still site
Never thought of that... I bet it is.lol
Beautiful place looks like you could hunt there for the rest of your life and never find it all
It was beautiful and we probably could, but all the trash from the creek is terrible.
This is the place where they get the pulverized powder to make Bon Ami
Avery had no interest in looking at a fence post LOL. Smart kid...
The only thing he did productive was eat a hand full of gravel.lol I did get to him before it went down thank God.
Да , а вот в России металолом так давно не валяется , всё уже собрали . Экология .
Take your tennis shoes off and go get it. Wtf..
Thank god. Lol
Find any flint chips in that cave?
I didn't, but we plan on sifting it sometime. That water was cold 😫.lol
