I actually wonder how superman could stop them. He can't hold back a tidal wave he'd just go through it. He can't breath underwater or in space he just has an extended lung capacity. Superman wouldn't evaporate the oceans because that'd be killing everything in the ocean. Superman ain't doing shit.

If atlanteans are “way stronger” than kryptonians under water then land, then how tf did steppenwolf killed 3 atlanteans with ease and took down 2 high born atlanteans without even trying (aquaman and mera), and yet steppenwolf got his ass kicked by superman.
@@Nemenis in the deep oceans the sun doesn't reach, so he's in trouble, besides in cannon comics he cannot breathe without support in deep sea. Therefore he stands no chance, further Aquaman fought him on land it ended in a draw, without his trident. that same trident can kill superman, who is vulberble to magic besides kryponite. Besides don't base yourself on movies they arent accurate, its the comics that are cannon.

Ye but I thought it was a setup to make the king join. So he was probably meant to take it down
even thooo, it was his plan all along, and he attacked a half-destroyed sub, since it was the one arthur stormed at the beginning of the movie.
It may look badass, but his just doomed the entire area.
That attack has without a doubt pierced the nuclear reactor, thereby releasing radiation across the whole seafloor.
Basiclly his just created a seaborn Chernobyl...

a little confusing that not once when talking attacking the surface world, killing humans and conquering the planet, they never talk or consider the threat Superman poses against their entire plan
Because they have magic and their weapons can actually pierce his skin. Plus if they decided to drown the earth Superman can't easily stop that. He may threaten them but we already see that both ,especially Orm is willing to die for his ideals.
The reason is that unlike marvel.
DC And warner brothers are to shallow to greedy to lazy and to stupid to do the work of tying these franchises together into a coherent story line.
The Movie companies have always been the DC fans greatest enemy.

Dolph Lundgren has improved immensely in acting over the years . I remember how monotonous and wooden his performance was in Rocky 4 but he was easily one of the best characters in Creed 2 and he expressed Ivan's vulnerability and affection towards his son ( especially after Ivan was having a breakdown at the dinnertable when his mom arrived ) so well.
Some actors get a lot better with age. Dolph is definitely one of them.

Isn't their armour so cool? It resembles fish scales while still being armor. I also love the background and sounds, makes you really think this meeting is in the ocean near the surface.
heard a cool fact about the costumes recently. apparently they wanted more characters to have capes, but they realised that capes would create a lot of drag underwater, so it was restricted to just the royalty. this scene is a good example of that.

Believe me my friend seeing this on the big screen was amazing. The fight between Aquaman and Black Manta is one of the best fights in a superhero movie.
The Screenslaver black manta looked too much like a power ranger to me, I've never in my life seen a film manage to look so high budget and low budget at the same time

Thorgar, Hunter of Incels and Destroyer of Buffets manta is accurate though. The costume is accurate and even accurate to the animation one which is a big surprise since I like it.

I don't know if it's just me but there's something about the people of Xebel that makes them so regal. Definitely a more wealthy, if not more powerful, Kingdom than Atlantis itself. They also have soldiers that possess hydrokinesis. I want to explore their Kingdom and The Fishermen's Kingdom more in the next movie if possible.
No olny High-Born Atleantiens possess Hydrokinesis not the lower ones.
@@reverseflash5713 the only one we see exhibit hydrokinesis is Mera the princess of Xebel so it might only be them and it's coincidence that she's royalty and has that power too, but I could be completely wrong about it, I know very little about the Atlanteans in general

Orm actually does have a point about the surface threat (pollution) seeing that the ocean is soaked in garbage, oil, human wastes, plastic, and who knows what else. How do they even survive with all that pollution in the water?
the ocean is kinda of a big ass place with kinda a lot of water so pretty sure theres enough of it thats isnt polluted so they can survive

@@Ksykuu375 when Orm pays Black manta. The whole reason Black manta stole the submarine at the start was because Orm wanted to create a fake attack from the humans that would convince King Nereus to join his cause.

Only thing I'm unclear on is who was piloting the sub?
The way Orm worded it, sounds like he had his guys do it, but wouldn't he be afraid of king Dolph Lundgren's own men entering the destroyed sub and finding out it was Atlanteans in it?
Would have been awkward.
First I figured it must have been Black Manta himself, who snuck out with his cool ship undetected, but:
1) we don't see him leaving
2) And the way Orm phrased it, complaining that it was barely functional (because of Aquaman and Manta's father blowing up parts of it) makes it sounds like he had to deal with it himself.
Probably just some nitpicking on my part, but the sub story stuck with me later and despite some googling, couldn't find more about how Orm planned it all

I'd assume that swimming as fast as they do naturally is quite the drain on their stamina. I mean swimming for regular humans is pretty damn tiring. Especially when fully submerged. Atlantians can go what.. About three times that speed? That has to be tiring. It's like horse riding to them. Doing it themselves would be a waste of stamina when they might need it.

This submarine is the same one from the movie's beginning. One of the later scenes reveal that this was the exact reason for it being attacked in the first place; so it could be used as a ploy to force the alliance, as Orm knew it wouldn't go through otherwise. That said, had another force known that this here was the meeting of the two most advanced and hostile of the seas' forces, they might well have gone through with it regardless, though perhaps with more weight behind it. That sub launched 3 torpedoes during the whole fight - enough to make some chaos and confusion, sure, but not nearly the full potential of the surface or even that one craft.

3 of the seven kingdoms have fallen: Deserters, Trench and the Lost Nation. I wonder how amazing (or dangerous) they would've been...

DC has a man who has superbreath yet he physically doesn't have the lung capacity to hold all that air inside him, Marvel has every character be able to breathe and survive in entirely different planets without any consequences or need to adjust to the new environment, DC has a man who can run faster than the speed of light who also conveniently doesn't create any major damage to his surroundings as he runs even though the wind speeds near him alone would be more powerful than a category 5 tornado, Marvel has a man capable of shrinking smaller than an atom who somehow doesn't suffocate or get effected by any charged particles like electrons which in comparison to him would essentially be giant hot balls of energy
At some point you gotta realize this isn't a Marvel/DC issue, its just a general issue with comic book characters. So if you really wanna bring physics into it, I recommend maintaining a sense of objectivity, or youll just look like a spiteful fanboy lol

beautiful armor, orm: black color with grey secondary color and a beautiful stripped cape with purple-blue light reflection, king nereus: aqua color with gold secondary color and a green or lime green cape, both of their capes are flapping under water and their armor gives clean reflections, i love the design too... this literary looks like an RPG video game with some awesome looking armors

The real answer is the film makers probably just wanted it to look cool, having a row of sharks staying in unison

Weird how an underwater explosion did not kill them the shock wave alone would be able to kill any living animals within that radius
Only with movie magic can you have a man dragging a trident through approximately 3 inch thick steel. On top of that, the Akula class submarine has a double hull. Orm only punched through the outer hull, he didn’t even touch the pressure hull.
Atlantean steel is stronger and sharper than normal metal. And it is called suspension of belief. Iron Man, Batman, Captain America are not realistic either.

Now this movie was epic! We were all waiting for Avatar 2 to show the water kingdoms. Aquaman made it a reality and Avatar has a huge task to foreshadow this!

I absolutley adore this movie ,i watched it 3 times in theaters and its in my top 5 dceu movies but one thing that always stood out, like a sour tumb ,to me was how this scene is all explaination. I get the importance but i think the dialogue could have been improved so much more seeing how good the actors are here ! I hope they got a better script for the sequel ( even tho i.... Heard ...it has bigger problems lol)

I think they could have developed Orm better. His whole speech about people on the surface being dangerous to the ocean makes sense, but he does it in a way that we don't believe his intentions are to protect but to use that as an excuse to get power.
