    Actually, nearly all Asian dragons are water dragons, and the rain was pengu's magic. Here's the theory that my friend and I came up with after watching the movie a couple of times: sisu's magic is that of rebirth, reincarnation, as water in the water cycle reforms, just like she does. Twice. We suspect her siblings knew that using the gem was going to kill whomsoever did it, and gave it to the one who could come back from that.

    • @abandondon
      @abandondon 3 года назад +823

      That's actually a really great theory, she would've turned into stone like the other dragons from gem but instead of that, she basically turned into water. We see at the end of the movie when the last person put the stone together, they did turn into stone. The dragons weren't immune to the Drune either, so it had to been her power, even when she got hurt by the arrow and fell. She still came back

    The first theory is the most plausible by far. The other two depend on Sisu being inherently different from her siblings. ALL of the dragons are water dragons, not just Sisu. Her siblings chose her not just because she was so altruistic, but because she lacked confidence in herself. Pride is the downfall of humanity. Pride is what causes division. Pride causes us to mistrust one another because true trust requires a measure of humility, both in admitting that we can be wrong sometimes, and in admitting that we need each other. Sisu is a very humble dragon, to the point of self-depreciation. Her lack of confidence in herself is what made entrusting the gem to her specifically so important. The gem works via complete trust. By placing their trust in a dragon who had no confidence in herself, Sisu's siblings empowered the gem--and Sisu--more than they ever could have by giving it to literally anyone else.
    Also, Sisu is not the youngest. Amba is.

    Actually, Sisu wasn't the one who could make it rain. She clearly says, her oldest brother Pengu, brings the rain, as she touches what I think was Spine's piece of the stone. I think Sisu still being alive is what kept the water flowing. Once she died, being the last dragon, that's when the water started to evaporate. Once the dragons were brought back was when the water came back. I think the first theory is the best because Sisu was so pure of heart.

    Correction: ALL the dragons are water dragons. Sisu’s siblings were just the most powerful, and Sisu doesn’t have the ability to summon rain. That ability belongs to her oldest brother, which is the wisest one. It was clear when she said “this was my oldest brother Jagan’s magic. He was able to bring rain.”. The reason why all the water disappears when she dies is because she was the last dragon alive. Once all the dragons are gone, the water will go with them since they are all water dragons.

    Actually, when all the dragons came back (except Sisu) that’s when all the water came back. All the Dragons were responsible for the water so no matter who went the water would have stayed. In the film you can see when Sisu dies the water goes with her. When the rest of the dragons come back form stone the water comes back with them and then they bring Sisu back with the water because since they are all water dragons, revival that way would be successful (also because the plot demands it) but for dragons that are not water they would have no luck (I guess?) It proves that Sisu and all the dragons are Water Dragons except Sisu’s power was to swim stronger than anybody else. (I am just being stupid and saying that Sisu kept the water but then the rest of the dragons were able to bring it back when it all disappeared.)

    Sisu is a unique Finnish concept. It is a Finnish term that can be roughly translated into English as: strength of will, determination, perseverance, and acting rationally in the face of adversity. Sisu is not momentary courage, but the ability to sustain that courage. It is a word that cannot be fully translated.
    Sisu’s power is in her name.

    I think it's because she has the purest heart. It was said in the beginning that the dragons bring the water, so when Sisu died, the water left because her death was the death of the last of the dragons. Plus, Pengu brought the rain, and they were all water dragons, you can see in the end that the water _actually_ came back when the dragons did, then they brought back Sisu _using_ the water.
    Also, she wasn't the youngest, Amba is the youngest, Sisu comes second I believe. Pretty sure Pengu is the oldest, then Pranee and Jagan, then Sisu, then Amba. In that order except I'm not 100% sure about Pranee and Jagan's ages, I don't think it was ever mentioned where they fell in the line of siblings.

    I have a theory that goes back to why the dragons weren’t brought back after they turned to stone the first time. This was because there still “druun” present in the world after they were wiped out. This was because there was still doubt, human discord, and no unity with the humans in the world (hence why they were separated to different tribes and they didn’t trust each other - seen in the first parts of the movie). Much like the end when Raya gives her piece to Namaari, it’s because “you have to take the first step.” I believe it’s similar to what happened with Sansu. She was chosen because her sibling dragons knew that her low self esteem and confidence made her scared and hesitant to use her powers to make the orb but seeing her loved ones do it she followed their first steps and dedicated herself to make the orb. At the end, all the dragons came back because the orb was brought together with the unity of all the tribes because there was mutual trust and unity within the humans again (the orb was brought together by one person from each tribe).

What if her siblings' power can't actually be combined perfectly and it would actually need something to help it flow, circulate or stabilize it? Maybe her power is what actually enables her to tap into her siblings power(flow) after they retrieved the gem pieces?

  • @hollowknight2221

By entrusting Sisu to carry out the task the other dragons could make the crystal as powerful as possible. It’s important to mention that the story was centered around the message of trust.

    I think it was about trust. That because Sisu's siblings trusted her they were able to banish the Drune. The Drune feed off of chaos and discord and by trusting someone you show peace. That's why they had to trust Namaari to stay and save the world. Because if it was any other person they did trust, it wouldn't have worked. Because they showed peace and trust in Namaari and in Sisu, they were able to banish the Drune.

      And with that water dissappearing after Sisu got shot? She was the last dragon because every dragon turned to the stone. I think you're looking at it all wrong.
      Firstly, Raya and Namaari only met once prior to the events of the movie. Namaari betrayed her, but I wouldn't necessarily call that abuse.
      Namaari was the antagonist, yes. But she was following orders -- doing what she thought would help her people. Her mom influenced her and groomed her to be selfish and put Fang above all. But by Raya taking the first step and offering trust, she proved that being selfish isn't the way to help the world. Trusting each other and working together is what saved everyone. Namaari clearly had an arc throughout the movie. When she met Sisu, you could see all the doubts she had come crashing to the surface. During the scene just before the crossbow went off, Namaari would have joined the group but Raya didn't trust her. Understandably so since their history wasn't great and Raya was always cautious.
      But ultimately, I think the message was unity saving humanity. Being selfless and trusting. That everyone has a part to play, no matter how insignificant they may seem.

      Agreed to a certain extent. Because it's a movie, we know Namaari's character development and why she does what she does (her mother taught her being two-faced will save her tribe). Do I understand why she acted the way she did? Yes. Did Raya ultimately need to put her trust in Namaari to save the world? Yes, and that was the right thing to do. Because she was pushed to it as there was no other choice.
      The part where I completely disagree with the movie is where Namaari put part of the blame on Raya for killing Sisu. Yes, Raya played a part in literally pulling the trigger. Were her actions justified? Yes, I do think so! Namaari has proven in the past to be a duplicitous person, and she was literally aiming to shoot while her finger was pulling the trigger. My goodness, pointing a weapon at someone is a serious offense! You are labeling yourself the enemy when you point a weapon at someone. You cannot blame the other person for treating you like an enemy when you are acting like the enemy.
      I did see Namaari's inner turmoil, and I feel for children who grow up with bad guidance like she did because they often don't know any better. But she had no right to lay any of the blame on Raya.
      My issue with the movie isn't the lesson. I think the lesson is accurate - just not practical to implement in the real world on a large scale.
      I just take issue with that one line about Raya sharing the blame. Raya had every reason to mistrust Namaari and try to protect her friends.

    A lot of these theorys are pretty good but my personal theory is that sisu's ability is to borrow/use the abilities of the other dragons she is close to. She was surprised when she first learned she could do that meaning none of the other dragons could. And just like the video i agree that her ability is that of unity.

  • @BiggestPhangirl
    @BiggestPhangirl 9 месяцев назад +2

    Actually, if you pay attention to the movie, Sisu very explicitly says dragons bring water-not HER, all dragons, and we see this at the end when every dragon comes back and controls the water. Water also comes back before, not after, Sisu is resurrected. That immediately shoots down 2 of the 3 theories. The whole “purest of heart” concept is under the assumption that her siblings are not, and we see no evidence of this whatsoever. In fact, we see the opposite: they give their lives and powers for the world and Sisu all for the mere CHANCE that the human race may survive. Sisu does have the power to swim more likely faster than the other dragons (think of the Flash’s power being super speed but for Sisu it’s swimming) yet she is the only one who didn’t sacrifice that power to help forge the dragon gem. She said trust was the only factor that mattered when activating the dragon gem, and even she admitted she wasn’t sure how she did that (although from what we see at the end, it seems more like the gem simply reacts to trust rather than someone having to intentionally activate it). So honestly none of these theories are well founded and two blatantly ignore the movie’s explanations altogether.

    The first theory is the only one that held any water at all. For her being a water dragon: ALL the dragons were water dragons. When she died and the water dried up: she was the last living dragon so its not that she was important it was that dragons were important and when she died they were all completely gone.
    A more likely reason would be that she was the weakest dragon and therefore has the least to contribute to the creation of the gem. So they needed one dragon, any dragon, to stay behind and cast the spell but they needed the most power to make the gem and since Sisu had near 0 power to help create the gem she was chosen to cast the spell instead

    The reason they chose her even if she wasn’t the youngest. She was younger by mind. Meaning, she wasn’t as mature as they where even if she’s older. We can even tell from her actions and personality she’s childish,goofy, pure, sweet,kind, and care free.

    I just thought that because she had the weakest magic (her swimming) her power was not added to the gem. Use the stronger dragon magic in the drune nuker, leave the weaker one to detonate it.

  • @rosienell6339
    @rosienell6339 Год назад +1

    I dunno… I mean, the first theory is the most plausible by far, but we don’t really know enough about Sisu’s siblings to actually confirm this.
    I have two other theories:
    1) Sisu was chosen because she created the last, and biggest chunk of the gem. Think about it. When the dragon gem was split into 5, it seemed as though it was split unevenly. However, each gem pice gave Sisu a unique power: the power that her siblings held. Heart’s piece was Amba’s magic, Tail’s pice was Pranee’s, Talon’s piece was Jagan’s, and Spine’s was Pengu’s. Which meant that Fang’s piece- the biggest one- must’ve been Sisu’s. So perhaps it was a little to do with that.
    2) Namaari and Sisu. Why is nobody talking about this parallel? According to Sisu, she “handed the gem in”. Namaari did the exact same thing, didn’t she? It was Raya and her team that actually went through the process of gathering the gem pieces, but it was Namaari who turned it in. Obviously, the idea they were trying to convey in that scene was that sometimes we trust not because the person is trustworthy, but because we have no other choice (yes, I know it’s from Squid Game and I don’t care). Sisu perhaps was the more fastidious, annoying and unreliable of her group. The loner. The one who didn’t trust as much. The only reason Raya and the rest could guarantee their safety when they gave Namaari the gems was because it wasn’t a question of whether she would give or not, it was a gamble, but they knew that Namaari had no real choice other than to put the gem together. Perhaps the same happened to Sisu, and that was why she was so focused on empowering Namaari.
    Who knows?

    Well, no. All of the dragons are water dragons in Raya's Universe. I think the reason why water disappeared once Sisu was killed is because she was the last one, there was no other dragon alive to sustain water on earth. Also, she had absolutely pathetic power compared to other dragons... Soooo her power wouldn't be useful while creating dragon gem. Come on, good swimmer? You can keep it sis. She was also very kind and believed in good in people, regardless of their actions so here I can agree they might have think she's a right candidate. BUT other dragons couldn't predict that the gem will be broken to pieces. The task was super easy. Go back, get the gem that people will definitely happily hand it over to last dragon, activate it and bring other dragons back. How simple is that? They just did not predict that Sisu will be put down to some kind of sleep and could not do anything if not summoned by someone. Sorry but Sisu was the worse dragon of all, still loved and important to her siblings which is cute ❤️

    Hmmm, if they’re all water dragons who bring life and water........then what if there other types of dragons? Like fire dragons? Who, like, bring other things? Wisdom, hope, power, destruction, rejuvenating (cuz farmers burn their fields sometimes and rotate fields, and it’s actually helpful), Or even bring the sun and thus light? Moon? Stars? Gravity?Would they be from beyond Kumundra?That’d be a neat 2nd movie (Or even series).
    The Chinese zodiac has an eastern fire/golden-red dragon, so fire dragons can look similar in style to the water dragons here.
    Just food for thought

    This movie contradicts itself. For example: they had established that each dragon possesses a special and characteristic ability or power (so characteristic that a dragon could be recognized only by the power or special ability that he possessed). One of the dragons had the power to "walk in the rain" which gave the power to "fly" (this seemed like a great idea to me since it gave another perspective or interpretation to the stories about oriental dragons that can fly without having wings, it was a great idea to run/walk in the air/rain). But at the end of the movie they show you ALL the dragons being able to walk through the air, without even being raining. Just with this, the movie loses internal coherence.

    My understanding is that the Druun were created out of human distrust and the only way to destroy them was for humans to trust each other. I think that Janga and the other dragons realized this and that humans would have to come to this knowledge own their own. The gem was just a stop gap to give them time. They chose Sisu to be the keeper because she was the most trusting and thus the most likely to inspire trust. They didn't tell her because the trust she demonstrated had to be authentic. Once representatives from all five clans were united in trust, the Druun were destroyed and the dragons returned.

    I think Sisu was chosen because she did not have a power like her sisters, she might had been the only one who could use her sibling abilities together and that might had been her power. As why the water dissapearred when she died is because nobody held her sisters powers anymore so the existence of her sister (water dragon) made the water possible to exist with her power. I never thought of otherwise I thought this was more logical lol.. but we will never know

    I think that the reason they chose Sisu is because Sisu is the one who has no powers like her siblings, so they were like, don't want to trust her. At the part of the movie where Raya and her comrades from all kingdoms in Kumandra holding a piece of the dragon gem said "We'll never trust her!" saying that to Raya as she makes the first step giving Namaari her piece so they also trusted Namaari giving her the pieces of the gem they're holding just like the case of Sisu and her siblings giving her the gem containing they're powers in the past when Sisu was telling Raya the story and said,"They trusted me and I trusted them." meaning, they trusted each other to get rid of the Druun like Raya, Namaari, and the others did in the movie.
