I hate going through the Argyll Arcade. Walk in the Argyle st. entrance and out Buchanan St. The missus has spent about 40 billion quid. Thankfully only in her dreams! Great collection again. I really look forward to these. Good lad.
Great collection of photographs. Good choice of music to set the atmosphere. The Whiteinch Baths look very impressive. I think only the toffs must have gone there.
Love the Gorbals Ladies shot.... so atmospheric. What were they talking about? We will never know. Also like the Calder St/Victoria Rd shot where, through the gloom you can just make out the 2 chimneys at the Polmadie incinerator. Those 2 chimneys were a permanent feature of my childhood in the area.
@@colinburrowes8063 Well they lived through WW2 so I hope things got better for them after that. Mind you, when I was growing up in the 60's I wouldn't have imagined today 🤔
I always feel comfortable when I see on the motorway “ Glasgow “
Brilliant thank you
Much appreciated.
Awesome pictures Colin , I didn't realize Benny Lynch was so young when he passed away.
Thanks David, a sad end for a Gorbals success story.
Well put together, thanks.
Thank you.
My Dad died at Balmore Road 1975 RIP dad

Thank you, that Argyll Arcade is a dangerous place.

Thank you, the baths do look upmarket.
Not really, they let me in! Big pool and bath cubicles and a wash house (Steamie) too I think.

I wonder what the Gorbals ladies would have felt and thought when they looked into the future. I don't think they would have imagined today.
Yeah...I guess they are hot
