A couple of decades ago, I had the privilege of working alongside Tom with John MacArthur's radio ministry. Amazing man of faith. So wonderful to hear Tom's comments here. Thanks so much for posting!
I learnt what verse by verse expository preaching was from John Macarthur. I left my church after 23 years that claimed they did it and they clearly didnt. A small congregation of less than 50 people is where l now worship, literally verse by verse expository preaching every Sunday worship and Holy hymns sung. Respectful Holy Worship. Praise to God for this man coming into my life and for ALL those faithful men of God who teach us verse by verse Gods instruction to his church.
But he doesn't tell the truth, so what could you learn apart from how to lie. Protestants misinterpret scripture, they don't want to know the truth about scripture, and they lie about scripture to others so that they don't know the truth. Protestants are the scribes and Pharisees of today they have been so for 500 years

Matthew chapter 23 vrs 13
13 'Alas for you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut up the kingdom of Heaven in people's faces, neither going in yourselves nor allowing others to go who want to.

I pray for him daily by name that he humbly comes before the Lord and seeks forgiveness.

How is that possible since what each one teaches contradicts what the others teach. In Matthew 7 vrs 20. Jesus says the following
20 I repeat, you will be able to tell them by their fruits.
21 'It is not anyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord," who will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but the person who does the will of my Father in heaven.
22 When the day comes many will say to me, "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, drive out demons in your name, work many miracles in your name?"

My greatest desire is to attend a church that teaches Gods word like Grace Church unfortunately in the U.K. (Nottingham) I have yet to find one . May the Lord continue to bless this church and leadership

I was with six US Presidents but it was a much greater thrill to meet John MacArthur at a Louisville conference! Much more memorable and pleasing! Likewise, I learned so much from hearing Dr. R.C. Sproul and speaking to him personally.

I visited a "church" last night that is just the opposite of Grace church. I went there to see my granddaughter get baptized. My wife and I were seated on the front row. Boy, talk about a light, sound and smoke show! When the "service" began, about a hundred middle school age kids gathered right in front of the first row. The so called "worship band" began to play what I can only describe as the loudest, straight out of hell, " Christian" rap, and hip hop I've ever had the displeasure to hear. It was so loud that the floors were actually vibrating with the beat of the drums, and all the children were jumping and dancing in a frenzy. This went on for about thirty minutes, including the bright lights and the smoke. It was anything but true worship. Then finally, a man came up and began to preach a feel good message with very little gospel mixed in. Then they had the baptism. It was about thirty kids one after another who were baptized at a very fast paced manner. Get'em in and get'em out. It's a mega church in Murfreesboro, TN. called New Vision Baptist Church. I'll never go back there again.
Hi James...I've been in the Lord over forty years...born again and baptised in the Holy Ghost...you commented on the Christian rap and hip-pop as being a far cry from true praise and worship, I agree entirely. When I got saved the charismatic church I was a part of sang lively praise songs, but most certainly scriptural, as was the worship. The presence of God itself changed the atmosphere without incorporating flashing lights, smoke, moshpits and rap music. Perhaps the 'seeker-sensitive' mindset hasn't quite died.
The church has fallen into the trap of 'competing' with the world when it doesn't need to. Receiving Christ changed my taste in music overnight.
Been there, done that. Gave me the...crengies? New Word lol! 1st row...ugh! I went once...20 min singing same 5 words...that's enough. Left. Didn't look back.

Interesting. If 1 Corinthians 14 is the pattern of what happened in early New Testament church, is this reflected in Grace?
1st Cor. 14 is the pattern of how a New Testament church should not operate. That's why Paul had to admonish and correct them.

HappenED. Past tense. In a critical period in the Apostolic Age, certain people had miraculous gifts like speaking in real, actual languages and actually being able to miraculously heal. Like Paul.
Then it all ended. Even Paul told Timothy his miraculous ability to heal ended before Paul died; Paul's best advice was for poor Timothy to drink some wine to purify the water for his "frequent infirmities".
No one alive today can genuinely speak in tongues or heal, that's all nonsense. Those would be miracles, and I DEMAND to see it. I want to meet the person who can miraculously speak Swahili or Mongolian with no prior training, not invented gibberish. What blasphemy!
"Therefore being justified by his BLOOD we shall be saved from wrath through Him". "Without the shedding of BLOOD ther is NO remission of sin". Just heard that MacArthur does NOT believe these verses about the sufficiency of the BLOOD of Christ. Wow. Unbelievable.

The modern Christian Church, and the theologians, preachers, and teachers that advise her, would have us believe, concerning the timing of the coming of the Lord; the Apostle Paul and the post-ascension Jesus Christ who taught him, have made a 2000 year old mistake! What happened to the “more sure word of prophecy?”

Another discipline of John M. Although John does have some great points, he's strictly a theologian and blenderizing the bible, especially with the great Commission, that wasn't directed to No gentile!!! Just look at when Christ Jesus told the disciples is one of many examples. But whomever this pastor is that worshiping John MacArthur wakes up 😇

Shoal being preferred because the former is compelling the idea that Jews were Christ killers who drunks the blood of children. This isn't what in asserting. Myself being Jewish. This is me putting it forward because it was a reality. The Passion movie what Christians rolled their eyes about Jews being alarmed by it dint care to know that it many European Christian countries that good Friday Passion teaching ended with Christians frothing at the mouth running off to the Jewish ghettos to destroy their property. In some cases abusing the women sometimes to death. The Calvanist would say it's okay to do this because God's already forgiven them before they killed anyone. And besides which these attitudes against Jewish people is still going on and will continue going on.

Speaking in tongues is the gift of speaking in another language for the benefit of aliens from another country or for missions work when travelling abroad. It is not normative today but common in churches that have very poor bible literacy

I hold nothing but contempt for John MacArthur and his self promoting grandstanding self. Instead of attacking groups that you do, obviously proving the fact that these other denominations that you don't agree with or you don't stand with all I see in that is a wish and desire to get people away from that so that you can sell Bibles that have your name on it and and sell books that that are all about making sure that that person between their TV show his normal books and the other things that he puts out there which are actually unscriptural because that's not what is written in what the Arrogant Christians call the Old Testament it is not the Old Testament it is a testament and anything that is stands against it should be destroyed that includes the book of Galatians which does that that does say that that is the Old Testament and you don't need to read it and for people like this the ones you say well you know the Testament says that homosexuality is a sin but they also say that it doesn't matter if you park or not because Christ said it's not what goes into you that makes you impure it's what comes out of you okay that's not something that a rabbi would say and there is in the other part being that the history of what we actually know was real history and what was written in in the newer Testament was something that didn't drive with history for example The Saul Paul no there wasn't a he didn't go from having a Jewish name having a Christian name which was Superior all Jews have a common name and they have a Hebrew name and anybody who doesn't understand that doesn't know anything about anything of what is actually going on with Judaism and if they've never gone to a Yom Kippur celebration they would understand that when they talk about the Hebrew customs and festivals that that the way that I've heard Christians talking about it they were completely 100% wrong about what happens at those meetings they have no idea as to how how those things are conducted and no idea over what's going on with it cuz it falls down to God's grace the same thing that that these idiots do when they talk about the fact that oh even though the scripture says you shouldn't eat pork we can eat pork even though it says we shouldn't combine different types of meat together or different types of like from London to Cotton for clothes and not even though it says these things it doesn't really matter it doesn't really matter and these people are saying how annoyed they are people who say that the that it doesn't matter if if God called homosexuality back at the time of Moses being a sin then it's that way now but on all those other things they don't care about those other things you know and likewise just like so many times as a child going past the church that normally was completely and utterly empty on a Sunday night but the one Sunday that we're driving past it that the church has a sign outside saying that they're going to be teaching on the evil things that go on with gay people their parking lot was full of people and you know what I honestly think that the people who get get the most angry or the most foaming in the mouth hateful towards gays I think those people are the kind of people who are actually dealing with homosexual issues and in the same sex attractions that they don't want people knowing about it's the only thing I can I can guess is to as to their hatred for it you know if it was a choice why would people do something they would wind up getting them fired and wind up getting them killed why that's the same argument they use on on Christians who were murdered was well why would they why would they do something that would wind up killing them what exactly use that on the other thing cuz you're not

With many evangelicals talking about when I expressed that information about the Catholic part of the Town being the poorest and them saying well the reason it's the poorest is because the Catholics do nothing but have children so they have a whole lot of children so the money that comes in has to go to pay for those children and when I explain to them no that's not true the reason they're poor is because they're not allowed to work in the jobs that have the higher levels of Education that must be done and and above and beyond the worst part of it is that in these different places it's not just that because even even the the lower Blue Collar jobs once they put in their address to try to get a job someplace and their address comes from the Catholic part of town they will not call them call them back to talk about employment unless they are in the Protestant areas and and the ones who who hear that and they say well of course they're doing that cuz they don't want Catholics going in there and blowing up their businesses and to me that's just the most racist thing in the most bigoted thing I've ever heard other than people being angry at at who other people love you know especially when what they're doing it's none of their business it's none of John's business or anyone else's that way

John MacArthur doesn't teach the gospel.
The gospel means “good news”. The gospel is the proclamation of who Jesus is and what He did for His elect only. The entire Bible (Old testament and New Testament) foreshadows and proclaims who Jesus is and what He did for His elect only (John 5:39, Luke 24:44).
Jesus is the Son of God (John 3:16), fully God and fully man (John 1:1 & 1:14) and second person in the Trinity (Matthew 3:16-17).
The gospel is God’s testimony concerning Jesus as revealed in the Holy Scriptures by the Holy Spirit which proclaims how Jesus the Christ (John 1:41, Matthew 16:16) was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:23) and born under the law to redeem His elect who were under the law and save His elect from their sins (Matthew 1:21, Galatians 4:4).
God’s elect /sheep are the people past, present and future from every tribe, tongue and nation God actively chose to redeem/ justify/save based on Christ. God chose in Christ before the foundation of the world was laid according to the good pleasure of His will for His glory (Revelations 5:9, Ephesians 1:4-5). God actively created and chose a people from every tribe, tongue and nation before they were born for salvation whom God has always loved because of Christ and only Christ (Romans 8). God’s elect are vessels of mercy prepared beforehand for glory to make known the riches of His glory (Romans 9). God’s elect/sheep are God’s chosen vessels of mercy that are Jews and Gentiles because of Christ. (John 10, Romans 9:23-26, Hosea 2:23)
God is Holy (Isaiah 6:3). God’s law is holy and good (Romans 7:12). The law of God demands perfection in word, thought, and deed at all times (James 2:10). The law was given through Moses (John 1:17). The law condemned all mankind and brought knowledge of sin (Romans 3:19-20). All people are under sin and none are righteous (Romans 3:9-18). Sin entered the world through Adam and death through sin and death spread to all mankind because all sinned. (Romans 5:12-13).
Jesus Christ is the Passover lamb without blemish (1 Peter 1:19) for His elect by God’s sovereign grace (1 Corinthians 5:7). Just as the Israelites were released from Egypt after the death of the firstborn (Exodus 11-13) - Jesus Christ the firstborn of all creation (Colossians 1:15) justified all His elect at the cross from the wrath of God(Romans 5:9-11). Jesus willingly went to the cross (Philippians 2:8) and offered one sacrifice for all time for His elect He sanctified (Hebrews 10:11-14) as their representative and High priest. Jesus was crucified for the elect’s sin and raised for their justification (Romans 4:25). It pleased God the Father to crush His only begotten Son( Isaiah 53:10) and God the Father accepted Jesus’ perfect sacrifice on behalf of His sheep( Acts 2:23) . Jesus paid His elect’s sin debt and there is now no condemnation for those who are married to Christ (Romans 7-8).
By Christ’s knowledge He justified all His elect (Isaiah 53:11) and finished His mission (John 19:30). All of God’s sheep will believe God’s testimony concerning Christ because Jesus justified them by His perfect sacrifice on the cross. Not one sheep Jesus died for will perish. Jesus is the good shepherd. Faith(believing God’s testimony concerning Jesus) is the fruit of what Jesus accomplished for His sheep. God’s sheep are righteous before God by the imputed righteousness of Christ provided at the cross as prophesied in Psalm 32 and fulfilled in John 19. All Jesus died for are regenerated at God’s appointed time to believe God’s testimony concerning Christ on who Christ is and what He did at the cross( Acts 13:48).

Jesus said (not some random internet guy), but rather JESUS said: "For God so loved THE WORLD, that He gave His one-of-a-kind Son, that WHOSOEVER should believe in Him should not perish but have eternal life."
"Whosoever". As it turns out, we have 100% free will to choose Christ and simultaneously, we are 100% elected. That's what John 3 is all about.
Amen ! The Gospel presented perfectly. Except that we are betrothed elect but when Christ returns we will become His bride. The Church is engaged to Christ in this age.
So are you saying the good news is everyone is going to heaven? How do you reconcile this Matthew 7 passage? " 13“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14“For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it."

@@Mark-in1im Judas was raised and predestined to betray Christ before the foundation of Earth and he was also responsible for betraying Christ. Think about that...God is Sovereign over his creation. He chose to elect some in his Sovereign nature and we don't know who those are and that's the more reason we need to preach the gospel to everyone. What gets me is how wise John is and STILL misses the entire boat with teaching Catholic (non Jewish) theology.
Jewish theology helped put Christ on the cross - UNLESS I am wrong and the rabbis have stopped making up their own law and gone back to the scriptures of their Bible only. PLEASE tell me if that's true. (I would so love to be wrong that they are still making up their own law and reading their own writings, rather than their Bible which is a Christian's Old Testament, in different order.) Or even tell me that the rabbis read Isaiah 52:13-53:12 to the people - as that would be proof I am wrong!
