Good video. Can that “pork chop slide door” be adjusted? I see a gap on mine on the right hand side so I think it may be sucking too much air there and less through the holes so it doesn’t clean itself on shutdown like it did. I’ve had the stove since new in ‘06. Always cleaned well.
Thanks for the message. Yes, there is a nut and bolt that secures the pork chop to the burnpot and the linkage arm is connected in the middle. See if that bolt is loose at all. The pork chop should be pretty tight with no air gaps for correct combustion. If the bolt is tight, then possibly pull the pork chop out completely to see if it has warped in any way. For reference, here is the pork-chop used on the EZ clean burnpot (same burnpot as the video here). pellethead.com/product/quadrafire-ez-clean-firepot-floor-cast-burnpot-bottom-slide-plate-oem/ Keep us posted, happy to help.
@ any idea how I can reduce feed rate on this stove beyond the slide in the hopper? Small pellets size this year( okanagan Platinum) and it seems to drop way too many . I know the control board use to allow to INCREASE by 10% , I think that’s on the auger on time. Any help would be great
@@devilslide01 Thanks for the message. Yes, there are different settings on the control box based on the model you have. The additional feed setting is +10%, however that is only on start-up. Yes, there is the pellet slide in the hopper and that is the only micro-adjustment for the feed. Only thing I can think of is to modify the hopper slide with some kind of metal extension so less fuel can go into the auger shaft or see if your dealer can swap those pellets out with a different one.
there is a plate under my burn pot that moves freely when the drop is open, I am trying to find someone to help my service this. My husband always took care of this. I am trying to learn.... it keeps shutting down on me and sometimes overflows. I did get it to burn a whole bag last night but today it shut down again. should this plate have an opening to allow the airflow?? or allow the ash to fall through? any suggestions would be helpful!
Thanks for contacting us Susan. Apologies on the delayed response. The bottom of the burnpot should be closed with no air gaps during operation. When cleaning the burnpot you will pull on the rod to open the bottom of the burnpot for ash and Build-up to drop into the ash pan. It will be good to get a light inside the burnpot and make sure that all the side holes are open and not blocked. Happy to assist with the issues you are running into. First off, do you know the model Quadrafire you have? When the stove is burning, is the fire crisp and torchy or is it lazy in anyway? With you saying that sometimes it overflows and shuts down, it tells me we have either an air loss or air blockage issue in the stove and/or venting. Let us know your model and any other details and we can walk you through some different steps to get everything back up and running 100% again. Appreciated.
Just found your Chanel. I have a Quadrafire Classic Bay 1200 FS stove 9 yrs old and just started feeding to many pellets at start up otherwise works perfect. Is there an adjustment for this ? thanks great videos.
Thanks for contacting us. Happy to help. During the start-up cycle it is a fixed timing for the auger feed set by the control board. If burning pellets that are shorter in length one may notice more pellets coming in. There is a slide inside the hopper that can be pushed or pulled - this allows micro adjustment for the amount of pellets allowed to enter the auger shaft. Generally speaking in proper operation, the 1200 should drop about 1-2 handfuls of pellets during start-up. How many pellets are coming in? When it lights and goes into normal operation, do you have a nice crisp torchy flame or does it appear to be lazy in anyway? Happy to assist. Thanks.
Hello Earth Sense, great video on how to do this! I have a Quadra-Fire 1100-I Pellet Stove Insert with an E-Z Clean Firepot that looks like the same one as in your video. However, the gasket is a woven gray material that looks like it was wrapped around the flange of the firepot where it meets the stove floor. The problem is that it was installed incorrectly and part of the gasket is hanging down BELOW the stove floor which I can see it looking up from the ash plan clean out doorway. Looking at your website, could I replace the gasket with the same one you used in your video? Thanks!
Thanks for contacting us, glad the video was helpful. Yes, there has been different styles of gaskets used over the years for the EZ-Clean burnpot. Yes, if your current gasket is not sealing properly, then this one here will be the correct replacement for your 1100i model. pellethead.com/product/quadrafire-burnpot-firepot-gasket-seal-oem/ Any other questions please let us know. Thanks,
Thanks! Important that the notched area of the gasket is lined up where the thermocouple is placed. As long as that is lined up that is what you are looking for when replacing. Appreciated,
@@patriciadavid6127 Thanks for contacting us. It could be an issue with the linkage, porkchop, or heavy build-up. Get a good light and check the simple things first. 1. Get it the burnpot with a good scraping tool - even a wide flat head screwdriver can work well. Break up any hardened build-up in the firepot and unclog any plugged holes. 2. Inspect the linkage. The video here gives a good view on that. Check the cotter pin connection and spring functionality. 3. Inspect the porkchop (Burnpot bottom). It's hinged with a single bolt. Check that bolt; we want it tight for that porkchop to make a good seal to the firepot. Keep us posted, happy to help.
Can you please do a video on removing the igniter from the classic bay 1200 FS. It is different than the Insert model in regards to the removal of the igniter The igniter is around 6 inches, and the stove wall is only 4 inches away from the steel cage the igniter sits in. It's physically impossible to just pull it straight out.
@@WindyMeadows Hi Windy, I pulled up the owners manual for the 1200FS and it shows that for igniter replacement it should slide right out.. Page 33 on the link here downloads.hearthnhome.com/installmanuals/7014_082.pdf. I'm trying to get one of our technicians to physically look at a 1200 and I will let you know of any updates. The specs for the loop igniter is 4-3/8" Length; you really should be able to slide that out of the cradle without hitting the side wall. Here is a more detailed video on the igniter replacement - this is on the 1200i, but it may be helpful. ruclips.net/video/U3dFNV77PVA/видео.htmlsi=Git_3bblzBIhIhNK Thanks again.
@@WindyMeadows Hey Windy, just heard back from technical. For the 1200FS you need to pull the igniter out to the left when looking at it. It can only come out from the left side. Disconnect the igniter wires, pull the wingscrew all the way out, and pull the igniter from the left side out of the cradle bracket. Let us know if that works. Thanks!
