The Guerlain lipbalms are some of my faves. I haven't gotten the shimmer ones but the regular ones... Big love affair! The rose one is indd a little ph adjustment. Not a lot. And then I also got the fuchsia one and the rose pop and neither are ph adjustable... they are so pretty😍❤
Thanks so much for your feedback. I'm actually thinking about doing a full face of Ciele. I'd have several products to purchase, but I've been intrigued by several of them up to this point. Thanks so much for watching.
Using Ulta points doesn't count as spending. What a great way to treat yourself. I picked up the shade Stone last night. I'm very interested in what it looks like on. It's certainly outside my comfort zone.
I’m absolutely addicted to to the Guerlain kiss kiss balms so I had to order the pearly ones. They are beautiful on. You have to like a honey scent but they are gorgeous and nourishing and almost the only thing I reach for in the winter. Highly recommend 👌🏻
Working on my cosmetics for 60yr old ok but heavy dark circles and aging skin. My quest now is to find the absolute best corrector / concealer / foundation for dark circles and lines. Help!!!
Let me think about how best to help. . . thin layers are best. I really like the Bobbi Brown Corrector Stick. It's pigmented, but not heavy. It's also a touch emollient without being greasy. If you haven't tried it, see if that helps with the dark circles. As for concealers, I notice that the more I pile on for coverage, the more likely things are to crease or settle in lines. So I try and go for something really pigmented like the Hourglass Vanish Concealer, the Estee Lauder Radiant Concealer, or the Natasha Denona Concealer in a light layer. I find that setting my foundation with a light layer of powder helps to keep things from creasing. Not too much powder, and only in the places where I'm prone to having it settle in my lines. (forehead, crows feet, nasal labial folds, ect) If you haven't tried lighter layers with strategic powdering, start there before purchasing anything new. It might make things so much better. I'd also recommend that you don't go out and buy a whole new routine. If you do need to purchase something new, start with one thing at a time to make sure you know how it works. If you flood your routine with all new products, you won't know what's working, and what's causing problems. Don't forget to return anything that doesn't work for you. Ulta, Sephora, major department stores and most drugstores will allow returns of used makeup here in the US. No need to keep what isn't working for you.
I would appreciate a review of the new formula of Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. The full name of the product is Laura Mercier Long-wear Tinted Natural Dewy Moisturizer SPF 30 with Hyaluronic Acid. Thank you for this video.
New fragrance I wanna smell is the new LANCOME IDOLE addition!!! 😁😁😁 I love most all of them … my newest love is the OUAI perfume in North Bondai lol it smells so good just like the leave in conditioner love the other 2 also 🤍🤍🤍
I can’t remember if I told you about this new sun cream I found it’s amazing g!!! Silky smooth ANUA Heartleaf you can put on a tablespoon and it just melts in like silk and has a natural glow so healthy not dewy it’s perfect for winter dry skin 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Rebecca I’ve been meaning to send my birthday wishes for a beautiful, bright, and pain free year!! I watched your GRWM, but if I don’t comment right away it doesn’t happen these days. @@maureenhansen8321 Maureen. I'm so sorry to hear that you're struggling. Please don't feel bad for not commenting. I'm sorry to hear about your dad's passing; losing a parent is hard. I had a wonderful birthday with my family despite it being a quiet day, but a quiet day was exactly what I needed since it's been less than 2 weeks since my last brain surgery. I hope things start looking up for you. Hugs! ❤️
I think the ingredients that cause pH adjusting are red 21, red 27, red 28. I remember reading about this after buying a Clarins lip oil (chocolate shade) and being disappointed in my lips turning fuchsia.
I have the Chocolate shade and it never does that on me. I'll have to check to see if they changed the formula from a few years ago. I know not all of them were pH adjusting. I'll have to check for the red numbers you listed in the Guerlain Kiss Kiss balms. I don't want to end up with bright pink lips. Thanks for watching today.
I used to be very much into MAC lipsticks so I’m happy to see they’re getting more talked about again. Unfortunately I’m sensitive to the vanillin otherwise I would’ve loved to try out the new formulation. So glad to see your recovery is going well (at least that what it looks like)!
Thanks Anna, my recovery is going well. I'm so glad to be back on my feet and doing what I love. I'm sorry you can't wear the MAC lippies. I did pick up Stone last night. It's outside my regular comfort zone, but it's such an intriguing color.
I think in general I like to see the higher end stuff - I'm more likely to find a coupon and try Maybelline on a whim than I am to grab an Hourglass foundation. But honestly I'll watch anything you film - it's fun to hang out!
I don’t care for drugstore, I end up tossing it or the plastic breaks. I’m never satisfied with it, it just lets me down. I’m not okay with okay makeup, lol! Highlighter always lures me in, especially the Ciele, but oh my YSL too!!
Regarding the Urban Decay, I have the face bond foundation. It's a full coverage that doesn't feel like full coverage and will stand up to anything, including humidity, heat, and rain. It looks better as it wears and lasts until you take it off. You have to use a light hand with it. I only use it for events mostly. Recently wore it to a funeral and all the crying didn't do a thing to it. It looked freshly applied
Wow! What a testimonial. I might have to consider picking it up. I've heard a few people are struggling with the formula having niacinamide in it. It's been irritating their skin, but I'm not one who usually has problems with that ingredient. I love the idea of it wearing through summer without looking worn out. Thanks for the glowing recommendation.
@thelipstickgal I should add I have mature skin and I don't struggle with this looking heavy or cakey. I apply a light layer with a sponge, then add a bit if I need to for problem areas. If I deal with my redness ahead of application, it's one light layer and done
Lately I’ve been looking for drugstore foundations, I have Prada, Chanel, and Lancôme foundations, but the Loreal True Match is pretty good drug store. I live in the southeast and the summers are humid, but also can be dry during droughts. As long as the formula isn’t too creamy and thick. I’d love to see some drugstore foundations. Oh, no perfume in the formula. I have rosacea that reacts to perfume. Everything else I buy is luxury makeup.
Thanks Diane. I'll look into picking up the Maybelline. I don't know if it's fragranced, but we'll see . . . I do like the True Match formula as well as the infallible by L'Oreal. I'd be interested to see what maybelline has to offer. Thanks so much for watching today.
I’m interested in the Hourglass too! Also the new Dior hydra - I sense they are similar and at that price point im definitely not getting both! Also interested in the new Haus Labs mascara. I feel like Haus Labs is due to come out with a skin tint, it would make so much sense, but that’s just me wishing at this point.
@@BrendaBostonGirl I ordered the hourglass and I hope I ordered the right shade. 🤞 I nearly picked up the new Dior as well. I decided that I need to get one or the other. It would be nice to see a skin tint from Haus labs. I would be interested.
I'm still overwhelmed by the Asian beauty options out there. There are so many. I don't know enough about them to feel confident in trying something new. Maybe that's what I need to do next. Dip into the Asian beauty market.
I vote for the new Hourglass foundation. I'm trying to find a replacement for my current Revlon Illuminance in shade 213 that is being discontinued. It is medium coverage and satin finish. I'm open to any price range for replacement. This actually was only drugstore foundation that worked for me. Any suggestions would be helpful. I still love shopping at Sephora and Ulta in that order. I hesitate to buy from online only brands as I like to see colors in person. The drugstore stuff has gotten so pricey I'd rather just buy prestige now. I really want that Black Cherry collection from Glossier...hopefully back in stock soon.
I want a mini of the mascara for sure. I am trying to resist the balm. I need a 10ml of DBIR. The WW pot made me think of DM chrome flakes. I but the Urban Decay waterproof powder and the setting spray. My oily skin needs them. I need to not buy any blush or lipstick for a hot minute. I am a pass on the ND. I am interested in the Hourglass. I need to see it in person. Have a wonderful week ❌️ ⭕️
I ordered the Hourglass last night. I hope I picked the right shade. I also picked up a mini of the new Lancome mascara. I don't "need" to purchase anymore blush or lipstick, but somehow I still am. It's my job, so I have a great excuse. Thanks for watching today Lisa, and have a wonderful rest of the week.
The packaging sucked me in for YSLs holiday and Valentine’s quads. I am not disappointed by either, though. The formula is so good! I want to get one of their valentine packaging lipsticks, a blush, maybe a highlighter, but we’ll see. Luckily, most of the blushes I want are either sold out or not available in the US, so maybe I won’t have to worry about temptation! I buy less drugstore these days, but if Ulta carries it, I might pick it up. I’m finding that if I buy the drugstore dupe, I still want the real thing anyway.
Thanks so much for letting me know your preferences when it comes to drugstore vs. prestige. I tend to purchase what ever looks interesting, but I tend to lean more towards the expensive. I did happen to order the Hourglass foundation last night. I hope I picked the right shade.
@@thelipstickgalI hope you got the right shade, too. It can be a challenge. So many beauty RUclipsrs have to get multiple shades to help us get one that works! 😝
I love higher end products -drugstore makeup while affordable doesn't perform well on my skin. Colors are always off and usually cause a breakout. Lip liners and brow products are the exception for me. I do not want to see more drugstore- lots of RUclipsrs pricier drugstore makeup options. I would try About Face powder if I needed a powder😅. For affordable options which you can see and are comparable in price to the drugstore, I suggest trying some of the Retailer Brands (Ulta, Sephora and Lune Astor at Blue Mercury). Ty for your hard work! Hope you are feeling better! Be well!🎉🎉🎉❤❤
I'm feeling so much better, thanks for asking. I might start branching out into the Ulta line and Sephora in-house brands. I've heard really good things about the re-boot of the ulta line. Thanks so much for your feedback and for making the time to watch today.
Ive just ordered the jones road eyeliner in brown. Hope its like the original bb one. Do you know where i can get rid of make up i no longer want. Seems dreadful to bin a lisa eldridge lipstick for example because i dont like shade on me. I live in uk
I'm not sure how you can get rid of makeup in the UK. I'm sorry. I'd hate to throw away a LE lipstick just because the shade didn't work. Have you thought about mixing it with other shades or lip liners? Just a thought. I hope the Jones Road liner is like the old Bobbi Brown one. It was such a great liner. It totally changed the game.
If the rare beauty liquid bronzers are permanent I would be interested in getting on this coming spring and summer I do like their liquid blush in the right shades 😆 and shockingly I’m not interested in the ND blush / highlight duo because I don’t use cream blush and most liquid blushes if it was powder I’d be all over it 😆
I get it. Powder blushes are beautiful, and sometimes the wrong cream formula is difficult to work with. I'll probably skip the ND duos and maybe even the Rare Bronzers. I'm not sure yet. Thanks for watching today.
I hope it's not a spoiler to say that, that Maybelline foundation is really lovely!? Jen compares it to the new Dior foundation (which...ahem...I may also have...), and it's a very fair comparison. Also, I was able to pick up the AboutFace powder early, and I love it too! Like you with mascaras, I need complexion products like another hole in the head...but I'm glad I checked both of these products out!
I'll have to see what the consensus is here, but I might pick it up. I did order the Hourglass last night. (oops) I nearly ordered the new Dior foundation too. Not that I need anymore, but it's kind of my job. The About Face powder is so good! I'm very impressed, and it's been all I've been reaching for since it arrived. It's so light and blurring. I love how it sets and keeps my face in place without looking heavy. Thanks so much for watching today, and yes, I'm feeling much better. My pre-op pain has gone away, and I'm so grateful.
I confess, I do like Urban Decay eyeshadows. The new blushes will be a pass, I have so many blushes. I just ordered the new Guerlain lunar new year case and refill.
Ooh, I haven't see the new Guerlain case for Lunar New Year. I might have to go check it out. I wish I appreciated the UD stuff more. I'll pass on the blushes, but . . . I might have to try some other new release that is yet to come. Thanks for watching today.
Generally, I don't like the drugstore brands because they are generally "okay" but not great so I end up buying other stuff anyway. Of course there are exceptions (L'Oreal True Match foundations are very good, for example) and obviously one's budget will drive ability to purchase prestige and luxury products (plenty of those can be a miss as well); Sephora and Ulta have a great return policy if something doesn't work. Love the shade inclusivity from Rare Beauty's contours. The fragrance in Guerlain products overwhelms me- so those are a no go. I recently bought the Dior stick foundation and it was pretty shiny on me but might try again without the Dieux moisturizer (that fragrance is on the very edge of a no for me as well). I'm thinking of adding another Merit lipstick in the matte Sunday shade...I might try the Lisa Eldridge pinpoint concealers, but nothing else is very exciting to me.
You've got a list of great things. I love the Dior stick Foundation, but I make sure to keep my skin prep to the bare minimum so it doesn't get too glowy. One serum and then sunscreen. If I layer more, it starts to break up on my nose, and fade in places. When I keep my prep to a minimum, it's so lovely on the skin. I love the Merit' matte formula and think that Sunday is lovely. I have Classic, but not Sunday. I'm really enjoying the LE pinpoint concealer. I'm using it every day on my large hyper pigmentation spot, and it makes such a difference. Thanks for watching today.
Im definitely not interested in drugstore, especially base products. However, I'll still watch a video as long as there are other products besides drugstore in it. If i see a drugstore only video, i just don't watch. Edited to say that I actually do love Moira and would be interested in reviews of new products from them!
Thanks so much for your feedback. I normally default to prestige or luxury, but I know some people only shop the drugstore. I'm always interested in knowing what hits best with the audience. Thanks for watching today.
Personally I have zero interest in drugstore brands. Not to mention I can’t get some of the brands in Australia anyway (eg. Jones road). I have a large luxury makeup collection just from so many years of buying so these days I’m really trying to shop my stash more and only buy new things that are different/unique compared to what I already have. No judgement to those who are looking for good drugstore recs but Ive been there done that in my younger days (I’m 50) and buying luxury makeup is a small way of rewarding myself for working hard and it makes me happy 😊 let’s be honest no one can tell if your lippy is drugstore or luxury - we buy luxury for the experience of using it and how it makes you feel - not everyone sees makeup in this way and that is fine. Horses for courses!
@@nicolefretwell6109 I agree with you about luxury makeup. No one knows but me that's it's luxury, but I love interacting with it while I put it on. 😊 I don't think I'd have any drugstore makeup if I wasn't doing RUclips. The good part of doing this is I get to try a lot of stuff. I enjoy that part of it. Thanks for sharing your experience and perspective. I appreciate it.
Let’s be honest, most women adds not brand faithful. We buy high and low because we love a little luxury and we love a bargain. If you are interested in the Maybelline foundation, go for it. The MAC Nudes collection have sucked me in and I bought a couple. I tried Folio in store and although it isn’t a shade for me, it was great to try it, realise it wasn’t for me and not buy it. The warm nudes and those rich dark browns though…
You're right we like a luxury moment along with a bargain. I'll probably continue to mix in both. I picked up the shade Stone last night in the MAC lippies. I'm excited to try it out. It's outside my comfort zone, but I'm so intrigued. I nearly picked up Folio last night, but they didn't have it in store.
I ordered the Hourglass last night, and I hope I ordered the correct shade. I was looking on the Ulta website and was curious to see if there was a good shade match, and I'm not sure there is. . . .

Dive more into drugstore please
Thanks so much. I appreciate your feedback.
(I hope your recovery is going very well and that you are feeling better daily! Is it too soon to tell if your pre-op pain has improved?)
I am so glad to hear that!💙💙💙
I confess, I do like Urban Decay eyeshadows.
🖤
I don't think I'd have any drugstore makeup if I wasn't doing RUclips.
Im on a No Buy, 25 empties in 2025 kick, so I'm not going for anything. If I can maintain my will power!😊
Keep your will power going! I'm loving the goal of 25 empties this year. Thanks for watching. Don't let me tempt you.
No drugstore for me lol 🤍🤍🤍 hourglass foundation and Dior hydra are in competition right now and I feel neither will have my shade
I ordered the Hourglass last night, and I hope I ordered the correct shade. I was looking on the Ulta website and was curious to see if there was a good shade match, and I'm not sure there is. . . .
