Piggybacks basically intercept wiring harnesses of inputs (sensors) and outputs (actuators) of the ECU in order to change the performance of the engine. By intercepting these signals it can send a fraction or multiplication of the magnitude/value to/from the ECU to hit desired performance goals. This method works safer on older engines where software was not as complexed and smart today. There are many layers of protection that if one changes in the ECU base functional layer, other changes elsewhere in the software will have to be changed as well. And a piggyback won’t be able to change those deeper layers of the software….at least not directly.
If your going for power. Ecu unlock, downpipe, tune (E50). In that order. That would get you over 500 wheel. Intakes don’t do anything for this car other than sound. With the Intake it does make it sound really good though. You get compressor sounds and your blow off noises. However I would use that money elsewhere like tires. Stock tires suck. Especially if you want more power. There is people running stock intake on a pure turbo set up still making 700+ wheel.

I'm getting a 2024 supra manual and all I want is to get is nice pops and bangs, would getting a downpipe and full exhaust system with no tune get those pops and bangs? Or does it have to have a tune? I really don't want to send my ecu to femto if I dotn have to, any answers would help alot thank you
With you being a manual it’s interesting. My buddy has a manual and he did full exhaust and almost had none of the pops and bangs. Unfortunately he didn’t really have any till he was tuned and messed with the settings. Although a catless downpipe and catback will make your exhaust louder to make any pops and bangs louder.

All the tuners say you do not need a tune. However you will throw a check engine light if it is a cat-less down pipe. You also will not get the horsepower gains if you don’t get tuned. At that point you’re throwing on a down pipe for sound. I ran a cat-less down pipe for about 3k miles before I went big turbo. I didn’t run a tune.
So your cars been fine with catless downpipe and stock tune?? No boost creep or weird drivability issues? I have a MAPerformance catted dp but I really wanna switch to catless just don’t wanna have issues..
I’ve had zero issues and I have all of that done. There has been many many times tuners would post on Facebook talking about how it’s fine for the car. The car can adjust. Your not gonna gain any power though not being tuned. You may loose some to be honest cause your not. Keep that in mind.

I currently have a rk signature exhaust paired with my catted dp and the drone is terrible which is why I was gonna go catless and switch back to stock exhaust. Only other thing performance wise i have is armaspeed intake.
@@loganmorris991 you can find on the Facebook pages Visconti, Mikey and Payne all say something how catless downpipe is okay with stock tune. I would recommend it. Sounds way better especially the turbo spool. 😌

Wheel specs are difficult. I got the te’s through Titan Motorsports where they are Supra spec. However tires I can help. Tires I have are PS4S. Front is 275/35/19 and rear 305/30/19
@@ShayHarambe I had no clue to be honest back then. When I hear the 31 we’re 6 ports and more powerful with tweaks of improvement from the 20’s I jump quick on them. If your 6 port was tunable you car would be like night and day! You would have to relearn your car

Yes you can. However it doesn’t really mess with your parameters. It can’t change fuel and timing.

You can’t tune for a big turbo and flexfuel on JB4 or piggyback.
