We did Isola Bella many years ago back in the 70s and it was lovely. We were in Stresa three weeks ago but my husband now has mobility issues and I didn't fancy all those steps so we gave it a miss this time. Would love to have seen it again.

Sometimes, but mostly im walking in the city, my advice is make a walking plans. Only take what's necessary for a safe, enjoyable hike to avoid carrying too much weight. Always bring enough water.
