Hi there can you explain more why did you put absolute pressure= atmospheric pressure + gauge pressure coz reffering to your diagram it's equal to vacuum pressure + gauge pressure

Vacuum pressure is nothing but absence of atmospheric pressure. Absolute pressure is complete pressure taking reference from vacuum...

pressure is always perpendicular to the surface area thats why you dont need direction when talking about pressure
