Yeah you're not kidding... I ride as if I'm invisible in my busy town. But I do plan on switching them out at some point to something a bit more visible.
Oh wow what an amazing gift... if you can, go for the Chrome. It's a limited Edition that will only be produced for One Year. Very Special in my opinion and this chrome tank in person is just gorgeous. Best of luck!
Great looking bike!! I really like the look of your mods. I’ve been obsessed with the Thruxton for years - kinda bummed Triumph is discontinuing it. Your chrome edition is awesome.
Thanks man. Appreciate that... yeah, I could never afford the original 900 Thruxton back when I fell in love with them. Luckily when the Thruxton RS came out, I was a bit older and in a position to get it when it came out in 2016. This one however, is a keeper for life... they'll find it in my garage covered in dust long after I'm gone.
Hi there. Love the mods! Im picking my Chrome Edition up in 2 days. Very excited. Just wanted to let you know, you appear to have "hyper flash" on your indicators/blinkers which happens when you swap out the OEM halogen bulbs and replace with LEDs like you've done (as I will do too). Normally you require resistors to slow the flash to normal speed. But Triumph have done us all a favour and you can tell the bike that you've upgraded to LED's and it will correct for you. While holding the "i" button turn the bikes ignition on but do not start it. You should see a message come up saying type -1. Let go of the i button, press it again and you'll see type -2. Hold down the i button to confirm, until you see the clock (normal screen) again. Turn the bike off, then back on and you're done! Normal flashing indicator/blinker. This process is completely reversible so don't be concerned. Happy riding, hope I could help!
First off, congrats on your bike. This thing is SO MUCH more beautiful in person… and thank you for that info!! I literally read your comment walked over to the bike and in 30 seconds corrected the hyper flash to a normal speed. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
@@CaptainRevs Thanks very much man. I've got the NRC LED tail tidy and the motogadget LED bar blinker/indicator ready to install as soon as I pick her up! Really excited. Great, pleased to hear it. Looking forward to many more videos from you.
I imagine the settings will be the same as the T120 Bonneville for hyperflash indicators, if you take a look at my video on mods I fitted to my T120 Black, it shows you how to change the settings on the dash to slow the flash rate using the buttons on the switch gear 😁
it's a tough call. A little cosmetic enhancement can make a difference but too much can spoil the bike. Being a life long Ducati owner, I love originality. When guys go crazy with carbon this and carbon that , it can cheapen the bike looks. If you get my meaning.
Love the bike. I'm hoping to buy one this spring and have the dealer put on the fairing before I take the bike home. I perfer the chrome edition, however i didn't pre-order. I hope i can find one just hanging around the dealership showroom.
Good luck man, I would just call dealers and hope someone has one sitting around or might be expecting one. I took the one "slot" that the Triumph Dealer had in my city. I'm also considering the fairing... gives it an even more unique vintage look. 😍
I can see why they would be illegal... I'm changing them in the front to something more visible, I ordered bar end signals... AN yes the exhaust is original and I had that same thought during my last ride.... they sound great and anything else might be too obnoxious.
I have a Chrome addition too. Your indicators are too dim and small- form over function. Good luck with them, I think it's too dangerous and hope you are using hand signals during the day.
I agree. Plan to switch them out... in my busy town I only ride on Sunday evenings and early weekend mornings. I can have the largest signals available and am afraid they wouldn't matter, I'm of the mindset of riding as if you are invisible. Congrats on your chrome edition, this bike is a keeper for life.
Nice bike man. I came across your videos before I got my Thruxton. Just picked it up last week and already started to mod it. I went with NRC tail, analog turn signal with spacer to push it out a bit so it’s not blocked by the headlight, also added a cone slip on. I didn’t realize the mirror is sold as each lol. They’re nice but damn $150 for a freaking mirror. Now I’m waiting for the other side to come lol.
Haha that was my reaction to the mirrors too! Exhaust will be my next upgrade for sure... Oh and wait until your first service, here in Naples, Florida, my dealer is charging me $361! 😵
I have those signals on my Thruxton R with fairing. They do stick out more in the location I have them. They are bright enough. I think you need to relocate them or try another type. They look tucked in and hidden. They wont be a problem at night but in the day time it might be. Beautiful bike. Good luck!
Thanks man. Definitely going to decat and change exhaust altogether... I'm too old for lower clips ons. I had them on my 2016 Thruxton R and it was pretty uncomfortable back then, 7 years later and as a 40 year old I can't even imagine. 👴😂
I’m about a week away from getting the only chrome that’s made it’s way to Singapore. My only hesitancy is never having owned a chrome bike before, is it significantly harder to maintain and keep the finish nice? I’ve heard some horror stories about chrome before once you’ve had regular use so any experience/advice you could share would be appreciated. Love the bike and your videos - keep em coming!
Hey Chris. First off, Congrats on the bike. Wait until you see it person... all hesitancy will disappear. This is also my first Chrome Tank, so I have very little experience... I bought a Light Metal Polish from "The Chemical Guys" in order to clean/maintain/protect the tank. Aside from that, I will have it detailed every so often and I'm sure my Detail Guy can suggest and apply other treatments to keep it protected. The Chrome Tank is just incredibly Gorgeous to me and worth the potentially "extra" maintenance/precautions. Have a new video coming up in the next days of this sexy beast joy riding to a nearby island. Keep your eyes peeled for it. Best of luck on your new bike.
Man I have a Thruxton RS too but with the matte paint, I'm not sure how you are going to keep that tank looking great be ready to pull some elbow grease 😂. She is good looking though!
That's a great looking bike! Maybe turnoff the cinematic mode on iphone, the fake bokeh is annoying and the phone doesn't know where to blur when you show the details. Excellent video, thanks!
Hey man, nice upgrades. I bought the same kit as well as motogadget bar end turn signals. Where did you find the black headlight bezel? I can't find it anywhere. I was just going to spray paint mine black. Lol
Dude you might have to spray paint it… I searched every also and happened to get lucky as I found a Triumph dealer whom had one left in stock. Check on eBay, I had found one there as well but it was marked up to over $150. I paid like $60. Best of luck!
Good morning, Luc from Belgium. Do you allready have the black headlightring installed? Can you send me some pictures and info where to order it. Nice mods of your Thruxton by the way: the details make the difference ;-).
Check out my “Marco Island” Video… you can see it there. The black headlamp bezel is a discontinued Triumph ORM part… and it was really hard to find. Probably harder to find now. Maybe easier to have it wrapped in black vinyl. I looked on eBay and called every triumph dealer I could. Found one at a triumph dealer that had one left in stock. Good luck.
Do you think the clip ons are too high now that the headlight and gauges are lower? I vote for adding the motogadget bar end indicators. Bike looks great! Ditch those fork reflectors! They just pull off and then clean the goo. 😊
I thought the clip ons were too high before I installed that kit… however, I’m getting older and thinking about comfort. I had the lower clip ons on my 2016 Thruxton R and even back then, after riding for 15-20 minutes you can feel the weight of your body in your elbows and hands. I’d love to throw on the lower clip ons, I think it would look 100x better. Definitely putting on the bar end indicators! Not sure about the reflectors, they don’t bother me there…. Yet.
@@whatmakesittick8362 That's how I felt in my mid 30's when I had a 2016 RS with the Fairing and short clip ons... I can't imagine doing short clip ons now at 40 years old. 😵
Hi thanks for showing the flashers working. The has good visibility, I did something similar on my cbr1000rr. The front may be to close to the headlight for other drivers to notice them from in front of you, from the side they look to work well. I love the Chrome edition and want one. Did you consider having the front cowl? I guess the turn signals would not work with the cowl.
Yeah that’s what I’m thinking on the front… might do some handlebar signals. I’m considering the fairing, just enjoying it as it is for a while first… we’ll see.
Hello mate ! Really nice bike and nice mods ! Just a question, why did you use the original screws for the lower speedo kit ? Classicbike raisch kit didn’t come with 2 screws replacement for the headlight fixations ? Thank you for the answer ! ✌🏻
It did come with two extra screws…. I just put them in the wrong place I supposed. Didn’t really come with instructions. I’ll go back through it and make sure I put them in the right spot. Thanks for pointing that out. 🙌🏻
@@CaptainRevs yeah I saw some people doing the mistake (I think it is, I have not order this kit yet). But new screws will look better at the front of the bike. Let me know if it was it when you will check please !

Why not? The Chrome Tank and only the Chrome tank is why this bike it the "Chrome Edition".... so why wouldn't I black out as much as possible to insenuate the Chrome Tank and make it the focal point on the bike? Yeah, I actually agree and will be trying handlebar end turning signals... we'll see how those come out and worse case scenario I'll switch back to the stock turn signals but the shorter version. 😕
I have them. People don’t see bikes. I use them for legality sake, otherwise I would just remove them entirely. Drive defensively and act as if you are invisible. Keep your signals or buy large obvious ones if that’s what helps you sleep at night!
Beauty of a bike, but let's be honest; those turn signals are there so you don't get tickets for not having them :D
