Yeah these are not good. I think you’re better off building your own Hi-Fi system buy a dedicated CD player, cassettes deck, and turntable as well as the Reciever and speakers. Best about this is that you can choose
Aiwa systems back in heyday were built like tanks. I used to own a ZL-700E which had 220W RMS on the subs and 180W on the main. For a production system it was pretty fucking loud for its day :). The speakers tested here did a pretty good job of standing up to the constant 8 minutes of punishment.
It's like the beginning of Back to The Future where Marty connects his guitar to Doc's amplifier, turns every dial on the amp to max, and then plays a note, causing the amp to blow out and send Marty flying into a shelf full of papers and various equipment.
If you really want to blow a speaker, play a really bassy track such as Emoji VIP by pegboard nerds or Bass I Love You Too (made specifically in my opinion for blowing speakers) and if that doesn't work you can resort to suffocate the driver by taping the holes on the speaker shut so that it can't breathe.
I have the same speakers, and I used to run my synths through, great speakers. Yeah , Aiwa used to be the "it" system when they first came out and like another commenter said their quality went south.
I got a aiwa system I still use today , still sounds amazing at full power no distortion. Had since early 2000's sounds better then most home theater systems.
2:33 it sounds like a Motorcycle taking off at a stop light! XD 4:53 it sounds like a Sherman tank. 7:40 when I am on 4TH of July shooting fireworks off!
+Scott Cupp It is a great virtual synth. What drew me to it initially was the fact that it had dedicated knobs and sliders for virtually all of the parameters opposed to what you typically find today with all of the parameters being condensed into menus that are typically a pain to access and adjust. I was also surprised at the range of unique sounds I was able to produce out of this synth.
I actually have footage of us smashing the speakers, but because the video was getting quite long, I didn't include it. Maybe I will put it up someday.
NOT ON MY KEYBOARD iT SOUNDS WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY DIFFERENT!
Well, mr aiwa has had good luck with them. What year did you buy? The 80's was their best, but then in the 90's they tried to go back to the fancy products and that was it.
These were actually from a now broken shelf stereo system that I got in 1998.
How do you feel about not seeing it anymore?
Well pretty good speakers if I say so!
those lasted a lot longer than the crappy Aiwa Speaker I had. mine lasted 30 seconds and started smoking like a chimney. lol
Yeah these are not good. I think you’re better off building your own Hi-Fi system buy a dedicated CD player, cassettes deck, and turntable as well as the Reciever and speakers. Best about this is that you can choose

Have you uploaded the full version of destroying the speakers yet?
I haven't yet. If I remember correctly there isn't much more to the video that wasn't shown in the VHS tape video that I uploaded in 2014.
What about car speakers?
Why you destroyed that speaker? Childrens in africa could eat it!

In italian we pronounce it as it's written.
Go to google translate, set it in italian and write AIWA, then click on the speaker icon.

Well, if you didn't skip the start you would know.
Reminds me of when we blew up my electronics teacher's speakers! XD
At 3:00 it kinda reminded me of a nitro funny car, the way it was cackling
Speakers blown with style!
The quickest way to blow cheap spaekers is to either play a song with a lot of bass, or hook them directly to a wall outlet. Poof and they're gone!!
Is this necessarily dangerous? If kept stable, could this be used and experimented with?
roach; bugs, not drugs Normally yes... There are a lot of musicians working with broken parts of any sort...
Speaker's don't blow so easily. They are able to withstand high electromagnetic force to a high frequency. To blow it you'll need a real power amp.
4:24, creepy 8-bit noise
Well, mr aiwa has had good luck with them. What year did you buy? The 80's was their best, but then in the 90's they tried to go back to the fancy products and that was it.

are those the speakers that u shorted out the stereo on???
These were the speakers from the stereo that we shorted out in a later video.
Wow what a classic 9years ago!!
What synth is that?
It's a Roland Gaia SH-01
The synth, not the speaker
literally at 0:25. watch the video
a shitty one
I've heard alternately "Eye-wa" or "Aye-Wa". Either is acceptable, especially as the company is no more.
