Great video. Fun to watch how you hunt. I hunt similar areas, but get out and walk the timber and brush bottoms. Wish I had enough patience to sit and glass, but after an hour I’ve got to see what’s over the next ridge. I usually get my deer, but rarely see them until after they see me. I probably push them out for you to see!
Thank you! It does take a lot of patience to sit and glass. There are a lot of times I have to fight off the urge get up and walk around. Happy hunting to you
Nice work! I live in and hunt Western Washington too. Last year was my son’s first year hunting, he shot a spike nearly identical to this one, but it was on the following morning, Saturday Oct. 28. We had gotten out late that morning (around 9:30), but were blessed to find a spike warming up in the son, since it had frozen hard the night before. Very cool to share our passions with our kids and experience their success with them. God bless!
Hey Zach thank you for the videos and the scriptures. What GMU do you like to hunt? I hunted Klickitat hard for 10 days this year and only saw one buck. Ill finish up late season up around Sunset Falls. Hooefully better luck there.
A lot of hunters to me is when there is a hunter on every hillside you can see and you have trucks coming down the same dead end road you are already on. Which happens a lot out here in western Washington. In just about every unit that has a decent number of deer. The area I hunted last year I believe had 1200-1300 hunters in it total according to the fish and wildlife department.
Unit 663 Capitol forest is pretty good. Me and my family have done well up there in the past. If you go there you just have to know you are going to have to deal with a lot of people. I don’t hunt it anymore for that reason. Another unit I’ve had success in and seen some of the biggest bucks of my life is unit 520 Winston creek.
@@bellevuelax I get lots of folks don’t like to share that information.. like everyone is gonna drop what they’re doing and run to that unit to hunt😂 I just ask out of curiosity , wondering if we hunted some of the same ground , that’s all. I mostly hunt 574 and 578… lots of cougars here around White Salmon.. please come kill some.
@@guaporeturns9472 lol I’m around the same are. I understand to a degree, but GMU’s can be huge so the chances of someone else blowing up your spot is so slim. It’s not like sharing a fishing hole

@@zachstockingadventures do they push deer out there or what?
Do you mean like deer drives? Or do all the other hunters push deer to you?
@@zachstockingadventures deer drives
I don’t know to many people that do deer drives. Mostly just spot and stalk
Thanks! Will do 👍

@@bellevuelax Exactly my point. I tell anyone who will listen
Ever come to oregon to hunt blacktail?
No I haven’t but I’ve definitely thought about it. Might be something I try next year
You could have pass on the spike and let it grow conservation matter that’s also a good lesson for your son
Odd looking tag
That’s an orange tag holder. The tags inside of it.
@@zachstockingadventures gotcha, never saw one before
Please quite calling forken horns two pointers! This isnt east coast hunting! Nice shooting from the kid though!
It's Washington bro! You shoot when you get an opportunity at anything legal.
