What a fantastic idea to start with , way to go Sacramento!! Tho teaching basic nutrition and portion management would help the healthy farm to table message.
When I was in middle school in the 80s you had agriculture day. The kids that didn’t have pets got to have a 1.5M garden plot often in pairs . That taught me not only to grow , compost , seed save but to cook what we grew . Later in high school home economics taught me to budget , manage your books , house etc Cooking class taught me how to cook basic meals & to can produce .
This helped me flatting then with my own family .
They took the fundamentals out of school in the 90/2000 …
Now we live in a society of Uber eats , very few know how to cook from scratch . Everything comes out of convenience , cans or packages, and people are bigger with huge health implications .
What a sad indictment to leave our future legacy generations .
