The majority of the cities in Romania are very dense populated and are relatively small. A siren like the US Police is not effective and is too loud. This maybe are not the best sounding sirens but you can hear them from each position and you can pinpoint the source of the sound thing that is vital in order for the traffic to make place for the emergency vehicle. Also in many big cities like New York they are thinking to adopt the European siren style since they tested and found them more effective then the classic US NYC siren.
