  • Quick video going over some suspension tuning I did to my Slash's to make these trucks more stable without affecting the plushness of the suspension too much. I should also add the Slash 4X4 has 40 weight shock oil front and rear.

    I have a suspension setup similar to the one in this video on my 2WD slash, the biggest difference in my setup is I’m running the stock Rusler tires on the back to add some traction and stability.

    Thanks. Good information. I replaced the shock caps with aluminum and one still popped off. I put thread tape on it and after a couple runs it seems to be working.

      That'll happen if the plastic caps pop off s few times. But good thing you were able to fix it.

      Limiting straps should fix that and also give you that scale trophy truck look if youre into that sort of thing

    Tried the setup on my 2wd slash pink springs 25w oil in front and just used the clip's to get rid of the slack so they don't fall out also went with aluminium caps to.
    I think it's made a big difference I gotta really turn it hard to get it to roll now way better then stock

    How do you adjust your control car with your remote to 4-way steering

    Nice video, your presentation is something I can relate to, and I hope you can help me out. I just install a full set Hot racing shocks to my slash 4x4, I guess it is handles better than stock. In result, front end seems raised with the collar is already adjusted to the top, but it can't grab the floor and bouncing (no traction) in a speedy turn. Any tips for me…?

      Softer springs might help, or shorter springs. But I'm not sure what the diameter is of those HR shocks.

    do the springs you recommended for the 4x4 work with Traxxas's gtr shocks

    • @RobertNES816
      @RobertNES816  4 года назад

      No but Traxxas has similar springs for the GTR shocks. Just look through there parts catalogue. Type in springs in the search bar on the Traxxas website.

    If you’ll notice on the 2wd he has an adapter on the esc. Please please please just solder on the correct connector. These adapters can starve you electronics of power and overheat them. Soldering is not that hard.

    • @RobertNES816
      @RobertNES816  4 года назад

      These were brushed systems they don't draw allot of power. But on brushless yes I've soldered everything, they're all XT60 plugs now.

    • @Dochorahan
      @Dochorahan 3 года назад

      There is no proof that it'll "starve" your electronics of power. lmao. If that were true the ESC would automatically shut off, go into LVC mode, or the receive will go into failsafe mode. And even if it did "starve" the electronics of power, that doesn't overheat them, it's the opposite.

    Nice one dude been looking for this exact info for spring rates for the rear as was struggling to stop the rolling ova did thr same with moving the position worked to a point but needed the spring rate a bit softer and you have answered that nice one

    Why not just add one more of those preload clips to the front, where the springs are short, just enough to eliminate the gap.

    Great coverage for both slash 2wd and 4wd. I have both the one problem im having is i have 2.8 trenchers on my 4x4 and cant seem to get them aligned. My question is what hole are your tie rods in on your shock tower?

  • @higgout
    @higgout 4 года назад

    Great video. I thing you may just help to fix my traction roll issue with my 4x4 will definitely try this setup. You never said what oil you had on the 4x4. I had black dot spring all around and 60wt oil. I am having a problem aligning the wheels though. Won't keep a straight line.its not so bad when I run off road but on road it handles like crap, never runs straight and rolls over when I corn at speed or a tight turn.
    I love how u explain your setup and would love to see a video of how you align your wheel and set toe a camber.

    • @RobertNES816
      @RobertNES816  4 года назад +1

      In the 4x4 I'm running 40 weight all around.

    • @RobertNES816
      @RobertNES816  4 года назад +1

      As for me setting my toe and camber I just do it by eye. The issue with the car not staying straight sounds like it could be a stability issue. The moving the rear shocks to the outter holes on the arms will make a big difference in stability.
