  • It was supposed to be a dream-like experience. Leo Messi was going to play football in China after a decade-long wait. Hong Kong, fans, and brands were all ready. And then the day they'd been waiting for turned into a nightmare.

Once again, Oh My Goal is sensationalising non-news to get clicks. He was never banned from visiting China and still isn't; people are mostly pissed off at Inter Miami and Tatler Asia (the organiser of the Hong Kong event) for scamming fans and conveniently not announcing that he wouldn't play until half-time. Some fans were also upset at Messi's nonchalance despite tens of thousands of adoring fans paying to see him.

He is Argentinian. If you have paid any attention to Argentinian culture, politics and/or Milei, you would know that Argentinian are actually VERY racist against Chinese. That is why Milei campaigned on anti-Chinese sentiments and China-bashing, because racism against Chinese appeals to Argentinians and sells in Argentina.
However, as much as Argentinians dislike and look down on Chinese, they still want Chinese money. It is like Milei who keeps bashing and hating on China but still want the $40-billion currency swap deal with China, (i.e., BAILOUT LOANS from China, which China has suspended.) If China had any self-respect, China would have told Milei to GFHS.

@@BrotherBernard-yy4ydMy point was: like most Argentinians (including Milei), he is RACIST against Chinese; AND, like most Argentinians (including Milei) who are racist against Chinese, they still want Chinese money. In a country in which a politician can campaign on anti-Chinese hate and win the election to become a president, it is obvious that the people there in general just hate Chinese.
So it is not about "politics", it is about Messi and the Argentinian people in general, and how we can conjecture how Messi (being an Argentinian) actually feels about Chinese.
BTW, Argentinians has LONG had a reputation of being racist (against non-Whites but particularly Chinese) even before Messi and Milei. Messi and Milei are merely the symptom and representation of that racism.

Since messi has been a star to his country man and the rest of the world way before melei started ruling

And if messi was so racist ?. Why did he play so many friendlies in china in front of their fans ? . Even that time he could have ignored them and sat out , instead he put on a show against Australia and every person in that stadium were happy with the money they spent
You are just trying to make messi seem racist but you are massively failing
Even those Chinese influencers you follow . Who apparently showed tearing messi’s jersey were actually fake 😂

A footballers relationship with fans is like a relationship between a couple, the love should be unconditional, if one makes a mistake, they reconcile and move on, yes one person in the relationship may have a huge mistake, and the other person is mad, even after a the one who messed up explained themself and gave a reason, the significant other might still in anger and annoyance, fine.
So a week or 2 passes, and things aren't going well between the 2,so one the who made a mistake decides to be the bigger person and apologizes, takes accountability, intended that their actions didn't mean to hurt them, but instead of trying to understand and resolve the situation like a normal couple, the significant other just decides to be unreasonable, to a point where it just makes everything worse
Inspite of everything that the one has done for the other multiple times, when that person slips just once, the significant other just takes it the wrong way, it raises the question to whether that significant other really loved that person or not.

It was simply bad timing, if you can't accept that then you have no right to say he "took the money but didn't respect the fans". I mean what did he even do? I would never pay over 600 USD JUST to watch Messi play alone in a team. It's a team sport. Inter Miami vs Hong Kong XI. Individual players are likely to get injured. It wasn't even an important match for Messi. If I was one of those fans, I would be pissed too if Messi didn't play, however I would also acknowledge that it wasn't that important of a match for Messi too. I would be more pissed that I paid over $600 to watch ONE specific player play instead of the whole team. Like what the fuck, you want him to be happy all the time? it's unfortunate that the fans had to pay tons to go see Messi. @@Holyspace305 One la Liga title thanks to Negreira, 4 Ballon d'Ors because of his name. 2010 was the year of Sneijder, Xavi and Iniesta, 2019 Van Dick, Firmino and Alison, 2021 was the year of Lewandowski that made a new record in the Bundesliga and won triplette in 2020, 2023 was the year of Haaland.
Yes maybe Cristiano Ronaldo didn't deserve the Ballon d'Or 2013, but if there wasn't Cristiano Ronaldo they would have given it to Messi who was second Ribery was only third.
      Should I go on? 😊😊😊
