I ate their once and enjoyed the pizza VERY MUCH. It is a tourists spot to say the least, but your number comes up much quicker than you think when ordering at a none peak time. Napoli is such a vibrant place, Di Michele is one of them.
He said "no way near the top 10". more closer to 20 maybe? please provide a list of the top 10, at least. I'm going to naples, which pizza places must I try?
I am making a pizza explanation video. May I have your permission to use a clip of this in my video, please? Of course, I will credit you for the footage. Cheers! =)
@@DaveBrettuk A Napoli ognuno fa il tifo per qualche pizzeria. Quella da Michele è senz'altro eccellente. Poi ognuno ha le sue preferenze. È tuttavia una competizione di altissimo livello.
So you guys need to understand that in naples there are 3 types of Neapolitan pizza: verace (common as ruota di carretto), classica (less stretched than verace) and contemporanea (big and empty edges). Da Michele you get the ruota di carretto which is not that Easy to find. Most famous for this style are: da Michele, trianon da Ciro and Sorbillo.
Was in naples last month , went to Da Michele. After waiting over an hour to get in the only thing I can say for the place is the price wasn't bad. The pizza looked like the video but the taste not so great ,texture kind of boring(could have put my pizza on a stick and used it as a mop). Maybe I got a bad pizza? Maybe I should have gone to another place? It was like it should have stayed in the oven a bit longer, also the use of soybean oil and the salt balance was off.
I personally think basil is so much better with pizza when its fresh, when they put it after they bake the pizza. Also they gave you 1 burnt basil leaf per pizza, which is criminal, i bet there are many better pizzerias than this one.
"Da Michele" ___was___ one of the best but nowdays it is just for tourist. No olive oil used and too many pizzas to do means not the best way to cook it. You can find much, much, much better in Naples. Trust me. If you seat in the pizzeria, it wil cost a little more than 5 euro but you will get an excellent pizza, eccellent cooked (in a wooden-burning owen, of course).
Wood-burning oven pizza is the best. Coal burning is tasty but second. Different woods flavor foods differently. Hardwood makes a hotter fire in the stove. Yum.
The best pizza in the world is the one you like more, who gives a shit about awards and trophies... it depends on the person. But for me this is the best
U went to Italy... But pizza is nepolitan and we eat regionally ... Food from a region to another Is very different... In Milan for example they eat polenta with butter and in sicily pasta With sardines and raisins... So if u want to try real pizza u have to go to Naples or if u go elsewhere then you need to find some emigrated neapolitan pizzaiolo! Greetings from Italy
You have all sorts of different type. The traditional thick crust with a lot of toppings (greek style pizza) the napolitan/roman style and then you get the deep pan version..

Love it! Im going to find some Napoli inspired pizza in london, looks delicious
It really is a special pizza, enjoy
There actually is a 'da michele' in london
You must go to Napoli!!!
You should try Pizza Pilgrims, 50 Kalo, O ver (the one in London Bridge)
Thanks for your videos. Now I am hungry. I can't wait to go one day.
Thank you Dave for appreciate our products... And one of the first things is ... the dough!! the dough! the dough... Happy to see you in Italy😘
Nowhere near the top 10 pizza restaurants in Napoli. It benefits from the tourism it's attained from the film 'Eat, pray, love'.
Not even in the top 10?
What would you suggest?

Hi. What was the price of the pizza?
5€
its ew there, saw literally 1 woman playing with her food also
It's a very good pizza but not the best in the world. There are some in Napoli and outside the city that are better.
I've heard about the best pizza, and for me, this one wins on the price. Was good value and quality.
@@DaveBrettuk yes the price is very good for the quality that you get. In Napoli the poor eat better than the rich in the west. 😄

go and eat pizza at "Pepe in Grani" then we'll talk about it again... 😉
@@DaveBrettuk it wasnt good, and was uncooked for me, saw more then 4 people not eating the pizza fully
Is it really worth the wait? I feel like you can find the same pizzas somewhere else in Napoli because it's the very classic recipe
Totally worth the wait, I went back two more times. Happy to wait.

100% worth the wait, their is some thing very special about Di Micheles, you will see.
@@DaveBrettuk wait was not worth it. Time wasting, even a cheaper places was more tastefull
Italy the pizza is priced so fairly unlike other European countries… 9.50 euro is the usual price of personal pizza from experience
Yes, and the pizzas in the UK most are trash compared to a real pizza.

It should be sloppy, that's correct, was the corners crispy?
@@DaveBrettuk It isn't that it was bad, but for how it is built up the flavor is lacking. Perhaps if they used olive oil instead of soybean oil?
for nearly 200 years the majority of people love it as it is. This is how a real pizza should be, ask any Italian.

In Saudi it's like 18 euro!
