Tracy, wow, you're spoiling us! Really nice to see the update so soon! Really appreciate the pop ups showing how things looked in the spring plus the show at night! You and your family did such a great job!! 🙏🙏✌️💚
I just divided a hosta that my neighbor gave me as a gift and got 4 plants out of one. Your video gave me the confidence that I needed and I’m excited to continue growing my garden without spending a lot of money ☺️
Thank you for sharing your brother’s garden. It’s nice to see how the garden is growing after the transformation video. The garden is looking lovely ❤️
Tony and Becky's backyard gardens turned out to be beautiful! Tracy, you and your crew did a fantastic job on the backyard makeover, and all of the plants that you divided are growing very well. It looks positively enchanting with the landscape lights illuminating the garden! Great job, everyone! ~Margie
I had my doubts when you did that makeover on such a small budget, but it has really filled in nicely. I can't believe all the plants you divided and they have survived. I have never thought about dividing a hydrangea before. Wow!!
Hi Tony, come over to see your beautiful garden tour I love a good garden tour thank you so much for sharing your beautiful garden with us and it was beautiful hugs and kisses from grandma
WOW!! Tracy you are a visionary garden wizard. I remember the small, rinky-dink cuttings and divisions that you had planted. It was hard to imagine the outcome back then, but you knew...glorious. Your family is very fortunate to have you share your talents with them. Cheers.
I just love the dappled green character the apples on the ground give the garden. Great for the insects and critters and great nutrients given back to the soil. Beautiful garden. I got so many great ideas for my own. Thank you.
I’ve been so looking forward to this. Tracy this is absolutely lovely! I love seeing how the divided plants have flourished! The lighting looks really good
Hi Tracy. I've been waiting anxiously for this garden tour. You did an awesome job. So impress with how well the propagated hostas and hydrangeas are doing. Thank for the update tour. Looking forward to more tours in the seasons/years ahead.
Tracy, thanks to Tony and his wife for allowing you to share their lovely well thought out garden! I’m so pleased that your division of plants worked out successfully! I’m not so sure I am brave enough to divide my hydrangeas ! 🤔🌸❤️🇨🇦
Maybe one day....in spring when the weather is cool and perfect...you may be enticed to try? I still remember my first ever division some 20 years ago...I was definitely worried so I picked a plant that I had multiples of so I wouldn't feel so guilty about losing it. I'm just joking....I still recall the feeling of "unsure" and "shaky hands" when I cut through the roots on my first ever division. It was "bad" so don't do it unless you have a good feeling about it. Happy gardening Eileen!
Everything looks amazing and so beautiful. I like the way you split your plants to have more. Flower and tree choices are just perfect. I wish I could plant hostas but I have to much sun in my garden. God bless you and your family 🙏🏾
Ok...okay! Wow!! I’m not going to be afraid of hydrangea anymore! Hope it works for me and that you’re not some Hydrangea Whisperer. Gorgeous, love it!
The garden looks absolutely beautiful. The Annabelle hydrangea hedge is gorgeous. Can't wait to see it fill in. I love the lighting. I think I am going to look into some lighting for the front of my garden. Thanks for the tour Tracy
Just lovely Tracy, thank you for the update. About splitting the hydrangeas, you are very brave!! when you did that did you add in any fertilizer/myke/other amendments to the planting hole. I also like the way the euonymus is growing vertically on the fence. How could anybody possibly give this video a thumbs down-what's not to like?
Thank you Pauline. The perennials in the garden don't get fed with fertilizers. Before dividing, we added and raked in compost manure to the bed. We also added mulch. Other than that they don't add any other fertilizers to the garden.
Hi, It would have been nice if you had made a video of how you divided your hydrangea inti many bushes. I enjoyed your video because I want to learn division. Thanks
Hi Paige, Moonrays 95536 1W Low Voltage LED Metal Spot Light Kit (6 Pack) Transformer, Connectors, 50 Feet of Wire Black Above is the link where Tony got the landscape lights….the rest of them are solar and strings of lights he got from Costco.
Very beautiful garden and your expertise are highly commendable. I remember when you divided hydrangeas and astilbes, I wanted to see the end result. Today I can see that what a remarkable efforts were put forth. Congrats. Couple of questions. 1 the other day I saw you sowing Zinnia’s seeds, in your planter in the month of June , how late can we do that. 2 hydrangeas you divided were just stems without roots. If so how to make the rooting process effective. Thanks a bunch. Tracy is the best.
Zinnias typically have 30-40 days period from seed to flowering. Depending on our weather but I’m expecting to see blooms on them by the end of August (until frost). I think you can still sow them until mid July. Anything later than that won’t be worth our effort. I have great success in rooting all types of hydrangea cuttings. How successful they root will be dependent on the timing. Perhaps next spring I will do a detailed video on how to root all hydrangea cuttings? Thank you 🙏💚🪴
Wow what a beautiful garden!! I have a few hostas i wish to divide when do you suggest would be a good time to divide them? Also do you know what kind of trees are behind the shade garden? Looks amazing! You did a great job 😍
Thank you so much Edna! 🙏💚🪴 Hosta can be divided in late fall or early spring (just as they appear). I prefer to divide in the fall so the rosettes of hosta foliage comes up more nicely in the spring. The bushes along the fence behind the Annabelles are all euonymus. The trees on either sides of the patio are apple trees. There are also many lilac trees on the left side and back. I don’t know what variety they are though.
Thank you Trina! 💚 In zone 9 - you may have to keep hydrangeas in morning sun and afternoon shade. Also slow and deep watering (2 x 4-gal emitters per plant and run for at least 30 minutes to full hydrate the entire rootball and surrounding soil). This will help the plant stay “hydrated” and cool…which is what they love best.
I planted them this spring. They are borderline hardy in our zone. It is located in a southwestern facing side of the garden that gets full sun all day long. Also with full snow covered all winter...I think they may be able to survive our winter....unless we get a very "bad" winter then they may not survive. Fingers crossed our next winter won't be as bad as some previous years.
It look sooooooooo good! Can you come do my garden please? I really love the area under the Apple tree with the hostas looks so beautiful and healthy! And all the hydrangeas such a dream!
Hi Nikki, I have attached the link for you here; www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B078YYWGHT?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image# They are on sale right now so it’s a very good deal! Ps. I’m not sponsored by them. 😁
They are varieties of variegated euonymus shrubs...their "vines" will climb and stay upright on structures like fences and walls. I think they provide a beautiful greenery for shrubs. Thank you Jean!

Amazing garden. Can’t believe that everything you divided survived. Just amazing!
Thank you 🙏…it is all the timing…if we divide before they leaf out then their chance of survival will be more likely. Happy gardening! 💚🙏💚
Can’t believe this beautiful yard, it is amazing. It gives me hope.
Thank you for sharing your brother’s garden. It’s nice to see how the garden is growing after the transformation video. The garden is looking lovely ❤️

Such a beautiful garden. It"s so informative to see how your divided and transplanted hydrangeas and perrenials have adjusted and grown. Thank you...
I just love the dappled green character the apples on the ground give the garden. Great for the insects and critters and great nutrients given back to the soil. Beautiful garden. I got so many great ideas for my own. Thank you.
Thank you so much 😀 Roxanne. The garden backs onto a park so the apples do feed many critters that often visit the garden.

Did the Prairie Sun Daisies over-Winter in the ground this last year? So pretty!
