B Par Far from it 😂. Lakers are popular because of their players, not the other way around. You can’t argue that the best players of all time just happened to be lakers at one point.
Fun fact, MJ's play style originally came from his older brother. When they were young. MJ never defeated his older brother in 1 on 1. But when MJ was in his high school year. He grown from 5'8 upto 6'6.
AnkleTaker 2 There are non perfect players, but a handful are so well rounded that they don’t have a weakness. Your Jordans, Kobes, KDs and Larry Birds. They can hit and create shots at will from anywhere, playmake, be a positive impact on D, drain free throws, drive, pull up, don’t allow the defender to sag off from 3, deliver in the clutch, play in an equal opportunity system and off the ball. Most likely missing a couple players but the list is much shorter than many fans would believe, these players truly had no weakness in their game.
For those saying Bill and Wilt. Bill averaged 15 ppg and was just a defensive player who played in a era where the average height was 6'5 and often times his teammates won MVP or finals MVP. And Wilt was a regular season wonder, he went from averaging 30 ppg in the regular season against bad and mediocre teams to 22ppg in the playoffs Also having teammates who won MVP and Finals MVP ahead of him. He even averaged 14ppg in his 2nd finals win. Jordan, Kobe and Kareem are the only players in history to play ELITE offense, ELITE defense and win a ton of titles. What sets Jordan apart is that he led his team to all of his titles averaging almost double the points of the second best player on his team ( Pippen 16 ppg) . Shaq won regular season MVP and 3 finals MVPs with Kobe, and Magic won regular season mvp and 3 finals MVP with Kareem. Not to mention on the video where they ask 23 legends who was the GOAT Jordan won the vote. These 3 players should be the only ones mentioned with GOAT title. Lebron might be one of the greatest offensive players ever but he played defense about 1/3 of his career, and what makes it worse is that we know he is capable and just chose not to. Also the Mavericks finals lol. Jordan was the best off/def player of his era and won the most as the #1 on his team. Case closed no one else in history can say that . 10 scoring titles (most ever) 9x 1st team defense ( tied most ever).
Either you agree or disagree with the pyramid, you gotta give this man credit for the reason and explanation for each and every player on this pyramid. He was very biased in his last two tiers, gave a solid explanation that also fit another, but left out key points such as Magic and Bird being the best players for more than half of MJs career, also he took into account the “eye” test with two players making his criteria invalid as he said he would look at stats and there career and he threw that out the window with Duncan and Kareem. Again showing bias
70's: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 80's: Magic Johnson 90's: Michael Jordan 00's: Kobe Bryant 10's: Lebron James Each of top 5 players all-time dominated their decade. If this maintains the player who dominates the 20’s would be a top 6 player ever. Giannis or Luka??
#23 JORDAN MJ or Kobe would have lost against the 2017-2018 Golden State. 2015 he was alone MJ or Kobe wouldn’t have been able to win against that either. 2014 spurs were put for blood and Wade was getting older. 2011 LBJ did choke but the Mavs played great D on him. @@m17jr-m Magic is in every way inferior to Larry though. I’ve honestly never heard someone who’s seen both play say that. Magic’s higher ranking in some peoples minds seems to come from the 5 titles but literally nothing else. Magic himself would agree with me partly because he’s humble and a badass but partly because he knew it and everyone else did too.
To your Jordan point: I grew up in Chicago in the 90s (Born in '89). Everything was about MJ. Every single one of my friends was Bulls obsessed; we'd watch every Bulls game we could. When he retired, most of us moved on to other interests because watching basketball just wasn't as enjoyable anymore. Also, you forgot to mention he transcended not only the game, but the planet. The guy saved humanity from aliens.
I figured Patrick Ewing would be somewhere on here, he never won a championship but he was an absolute beast in the paint and one of the best defensive centers ever.
@Devin Hahn Bob Pettit or Jerry west could go, but I’d probably go with Pettit. Pettit was a good big man in an era where big men were few and far between, so being a big man meant you dominated, while Ewing played during the era of the big man, where every team had a freak of nature in the paint, and despite there being so many of those dominant 80s and 90s big men he’s top 3 of the era.
@@cosmicclover1544 I think you and @REVENONE are agreeing, just with different wording. Magic is a better player than Stockton, but looking specifically at the role of the point guard position, Stockton plays the role of facilitating scoring the best, though in an actual game Magic would be better because even if he only assists/gets the ball to the right person say 95% as well as Stockton, he himself also gets a lot of points (though getting points on your own isn't the "role" of a point guard) if that makes sense.

@Ulysses432 there are millions of stat sheets out there, plus lots of conformations form a lot of big people in the industry. Are you calling Arnold a liar when he said wilt benched 500, are you saying that Phil jackson us lying when he said wilt was more dominant than shaq.

Respect!! Everything seems alright for me!! Even tho Kobe is my favorite player...I agree that MJ is the greatest of all time. Keep up the good work!!!!
Great pyramid. What I can add is when rating all these player for greatness, one factor I use for myself to separate them is- Did this player transcend the sport? I can talk about 90's onward only as you had to be alive and see for yourself to asses overall greatness compared between different times. As someone that lived in post communist Eastern Europe, you could go to a village where there was one TV in the mayors house in the early 90's and old people that didn't know what NBA is or what even basketball is, but they would have heard about Jordan. That's how big of a name he was at that time. No other basketball player ever had that recognition on a level outside the sport. I would put him on the level of worldwide recognition with Maradona, Pele or Ronaldo in the 90's. So I agree with him on top. Next was Shaq, when it was talked about basketball after Jordan he was the big worldwide name people will recognize or kids playing that didn't saw Jordan will want to be when playing. After Shaq came Kobe and I would agree with this pyramid again, Kobe was bigger name than Shaq, whole generation that grew up used and sill use the phrase "Kobe" for doing something accurate. This transcends the sport. Next after Kobe should be LeBron, but I personally don't see him on the same level of fame/recognition outside basketball. Of course that doesn't mean that much if the goal is to find the best basketball player, people that are knowledgeable about NBA should not discount stats, championships, skill etc. For people that watch the sport even casually I find this pyramid spot on.
Straight up^ this was made before he won but if it had been after I think it woulda been different. If you look at his accomplishments (2 titles, finals MVP for both, 5 time all star, 2 time DPOY etc) plus his ability to lead a team/determination to win he'd have to sneak into tier 5

Magic and Bird should be on the same tier, they are way too close to each other to separate them, and I'd say Magic should be Tier 3 with Bird. also I would move Wilt to Tier 2 in Magic's place, because even though he won only 2 titles, he still was so much more better than anyone during his time, that it's almost unreal. And he is probably the only superstar of the 60s that you can be sure would have dominated the game even today if he was born nowadays.

I think Kawai Leonard snuck into tier 5 with his performance last season. He won a title and ducked, one of the GOAT “alright I’m out” moves ever.
Straight up^ this was made before he won but if it had been after I think it woulda been different. If you look at his accomplishments (2 titles, finals MVP for both, 5 time all star, 2 time DPOY etc) plus his ability to lead a team/determination to win he'd have to sneak into tier 5

@@MrPokefanatic97 He was he won Finals MVP
Can you make another pyramid but for current players. Also Wilt should be in teir 2 but i dont know who to take out?
Kd n kAwhi would be tier 1 no question
@@declanfernandes6714 and bron
Declan Fernandes 😂 ur funnny it’s LeBron kawhi wasn’t even on this list u got jokes bruh
Js Ms why can’t they both be on tier one and kawia isint on this because Lebron has been in the league for fucking 16 YEARS, only have 7 for kawia just shut the hell up
@@RomanSchleinkofer One player at the top. The rest will come close but fall to tier 2
Brian Scalabrine? More rings than most of the players in your pyramid
Its about a playing good not about rings
No doubt! The goat himself
I hate people who take jokes too seriously
Kung Fu Kenny R/woooooosh

And Barkley
@@michaelmerritt1769 man literally changed the whole game. Shoots threes like a its free throw and well iverson, could have been higher if he had a ring

Tier S - Brian "The White Mamba" Scalabrine
Crash Bandicoot yes
they do disrespect the WHITE MAMBA! Tier S or Tier 0 in the list
him and Robert MasSacre
Dr. J is a top 10 all time. Underrated.
All that stuff he said about Kobe really hit me in my heart
Kobe was the only player next to Jordan who almost always plays at a 100% of his potential.
Sinedstro Cythan LeBron or wilt was closer to Jordan
Sinedstro Cythan and magic and Kareem
Kawhi has a ring, finals mvp and 2 DPOY’s. I think tier 5 might be acceptable
Clearly unless you have a regular season mvp or had a great prime like Scottie making 9 defensive first teams you don’t make the pyramid 😂😂
Let's wait until Kawhi retires.
Kawhi had the potential just like how steph and kd have the potential to be in tier 2 if they go their separate ways
Later in his career he will be there.
be patient buddy
Notification gang where trap sax at tho? 😭
Y Darkzperry Yeah I need to unsub if he doesn't use it again
